Hi all odd problem here My R1 HD OEM 16GB (unlocked boot, rooted and twrp) keeps setting time zone back to pacific time zone on reboot (the out of box time zone btw) even if the use network time zone and use network time are turned off. still it reverts to pacific zone anyone encounter this or a fix? Also The firmware is BLU_R0011UU_v17_Generic. I'm using BLU_R0011UU_v12_Generic boot.img because I wanted magisk and could not get a stock boot.img for v17 but seems v12 works not sure if it is a reason behind the clock thing anyway if i find any other useful information I'll add it but I hope to get help to fix it soon.
Nevermind fixed it after hours of testing settings apparently the build prop value "persist.sys.timezone" doesn't get changed (idk if supposed to)
But changing it to your correct time zone fixes this.

I know they use the same frequencies as Telus so all my data should work and I will get all the bug fixes from the Thai firmware, but before I do it I just wanted to know if I am going to have any localization problems like:
default language from using the firmware.
Any hard coded info like servers (I read a tutorial once about using a unlocked MIlestone on Bell and having to root it to get assisted gps working by changing the server info 3 times in different files) so that is a example of info I would like to know before hand. Or does that info along with APNs get saved in a area the service does not touch.
I assume my apps will be fine since I am using a service version.
I have the 2.36 Thai version running on mine, while still running on Telus. I haven't modded the location file yet, and the GPS works just fine Language is still in English.
Good to know about the language. I know GPS would still work since the servers I was talking about are just for the assisted part I think speeding it up when finding you.
Did you have to manually set any APN settings after flashing the Thai version.
Has this happened to anyone?
I did the upgrade then shortly after I got a notification that I lost data connectivity due to data roaming. Which I wasn't. I had to reboot to get data working again.
It kept happening until I gave up and decided I would rather have random music playing then having to reboot or go in and out of airplane mode everytime I wanted to go online.
It would be interesting to know why this is happening though. I am in a big city and it was happening at work and home.
Does the Thai firmware have some sort of advantage to other firmwares?
@ shadowofdarkness: You could have just turned on the data roaming. Though the phone may think it's roaming, your carrier won't.
@ bemymonkey: I find it quicker just in general, but that may just be me. I found when I was using the Telus release it felt very bogged down and laggy. I ran some tests with a buddy of mine (he running stock Telus, me running stock Thai) and it showed that mine was running about 1/5th faster on most tasks.
At the time the Thai version had bug fixes I wanted but since then GOT released a new Telus version with the same fixes.
Interesting... if I get bored I might try it
Hi,
I recently updated to Froyo using the registry hack, i was on uk orange jf3 before.
Since being on it i have constantly been struggling with the 3g and the network signal, at first i thought the 3g was disconnecting when i turned the wifi on but then the network signal starting disappearing and it would show the circle symbol with the diagonal strike through it to show that it was not picking up any networks.
I read somewhere that cycling flight mode might solve the issue, but for some reason once i turn on/off flight mode it just hangs at that stage and will not change until after a restart.
I have also tried formatting both the internal and ext sd cards and i have done a factory reset twice.
Nothing has helped, it connects to 3g initially (which shows that it shouldn't be a setting problem?) and the network signal is also fine initially but then after a short amount of time or inactivity or switching on wifi the 3g won't connect and the network signal just dies.
If anyone has any ideas as to what is causing this or how to fix it i would really appreciate it.
Having a phone that can't make or receive calls when i need it to is really f'ing me off.
P.s. I have read and searched other topics for help on this but nothing so far has helped.
Might be something like I have? But I got no reply here...

Yer i read your post, what i don't understand is that it was totally fine in 2.1 and now in 2.2 it's messed up, not sure if that is the same for you?
I think it is something to do with it being for Norwegian users not UK and that somehow affects it.
I have checked the apn and it all seems correct, do you also have the issue with flight mode not working properly?
Just found this on an internet search...
: Samsung Galaxy S v2.2/Froyo update
Posted: 5 days ago in response to: stefan
Some news on the update to Android 2.2 for the Samsung Galaxy S. Currently we are making some changes to get it working better when using Orange signal, and are therefore looking to release the update by the end of November – obviously this is a delay on our original release date but we hope it will be worth the wait!
Kind Regards

Not sure exactly what that means but it sure sounds like this might be the problem i am having.
I would be interested to know if other UK orange users have been having problems?
I would also like to know if it is possible for me to go back to to a previous version so i can actually use my phone.
I am orange uk, and have similar problem at home, but works well at office. Maybe it is due to the barrier of signal. if the signal level is lower than this barrier, only emergency call can be.
I do not know how to do but my friend advised me to update the moderm
Hello everyone.. So I updated my HTC One Developer Edition to 4.3 yesterday, and I noticed that my "Weather Clock" widget was an hour ahead of the actual time. I went to the Settings / Date & Time and I noticed that my "Automatic Time Zone" switched to GMT-03:00 Chile Summer Time, and what I had is GMT-4:00 Eastern Time.
I live in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and now I have to set my Location to Puerto Rico in order to have the right time displayed. If I choose Santo Domingo, DR it will show incorrect time (1 hour ahead).
Other than that the 4.3 Update has made the phone appear snappier/faster overall.
Any thoughts on what could be done? Anyone else experienced something similar?
Thanks!
Are you having an issue with "daylight savings time" ?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Not really, I don't see any option referring to Daylight Savings.. This issue is new after updating to 4.3.. I googled and noticed someone else mentioned the same problem too. Anyone else has experienced anything similar?

Hi there!
I have been noticing this some time ago.
My timezone is London/Lisbon GMT + 0 and until the 4.3 update I had no problem in setting on the "Automatic time zone". After the 4.3 update if I set "Automatic time zone" ON the time zone will be set to "GMT-01:00, Azores Standard Time" which is wrong. Maybe it is due wrong info from the GSM cell... don't know
Before I start, the problem underneath appears on a fresh installed lollipop installation on a XT1092 which is converted to a XT1095.
After setting up my VPN on my Moto (using IPSec Xauth PSK) I see some strange things happening:
- CPU load is going max ("System" process is using all CPU)
- When pressing the ON/OFF button the device is rebooting.
- Wasn't able to check data connection due to slow performance/spontaneous reboots after turning VPN ON. However settings are 100% correct and key symbol is shown(used them before on this phone (as original XT1092 under 4.4.4) and using them on 4 other devices).
Sadly I cannot find anything in the logs which can point me for the reason of this bug (using OS Monitor for this). Somehow I have however the feeling this bug is caused by the conversion from XT1092 to XT1095 (while using a backup of the XT1092 4.4.4 modem). Can somebody let me know if this is a general problem, a problem that only appears with model conversions or a problem that only I have (because I messed up something during the conversion/lollipop installation ).
Thanks.
I just discovered that the lollipop update also broke all of my tethering options (just when I am stuck somewhere and need to do some work on my laptop)..
Guess I am forced to roll back to 4.4.4, anyone knows the best way to do this?
I haven't found any other threads about this and I couldn't find any option in the settings to turn this off.
I have the UK version of the phone with stock (untouched) image, the latest updates installed and not rooted.
Issue: Every now and then my wifi turns on by itself. I haven't been able to pinpoint if it happens every X minutes or every time something happens. I am using my cell data because the wifi at work is crap so every time it turns on I start to get stuttering on youtube and stuff like that.
Anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Maybe try in advanced WiFi settings... It's in the 3 dot menu on WiFi settings page... It's turn WiFi on automatically enabled?
