I can't get it to work on the note 8. Worked on s8. It asks for the engine to be installed, I do that , but it still doesn't work. Anyone?
I read somewhere here that they were having problems, and BK Package Disabler was suggested as an alternative with positive results. I can't test as I'm still waiting on my pre-order.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en_GB
Package disabler pro would not work for me either (to disable bixby) BK Package Disabler worked perfectly though.
Hope that helps.
What carrier?
I have a T-Mobile version. This is my first Sammy.
I come from using unlocked , vanilla phones so this bloat ware is something Ive not had to deal with.
Is there a list of things some of you cats can share that are recommended to disable?
This BK disabled thing. Is it idiotic proof or is it deigned for cats who root and tinker with their device? I dont root and i dont tinker.. i just like to let things work with no major input from me.
Feel free to point me to a video or review of this app if that's easier.
As always, appreciate the help.

Very easy. Just read the guide.
Package disabler pro has had updates the last three days. Mine is out for delivery so can't test right yet.
Doesnt work. Same as the s8plus.
Try to use BK package disable it works.
Not working for me either. Thought it was at first. But then saw it still errors that pdp engine is not installed.
Hey guys I feel this is a total noob question but I can't remove apps from my home screen. I seen a video on how to remove apps from the s8+ which seems to have a force touch menu. My note 8 doesn't have the force touch options. Please help
BK Disabler worked great.
Bk here and zero issues

You just hold down on the app icon till it pops up with a list of choices from uninstall to remove from home screen.

Yeah as I hold down the app I never get the quick menu box.
All my phone does is allow me to move it on the screen.
So weird I wonder if my phone is defective.

I doubt it but who knows. I tried it a few times and it seems to be fine even if your hand is a bit shaky. Go contact samsung chat support and see what they can do for you would be my guess.
Developer options...
Do you have animations in developer options turned off? Set them to at least .05x to allow the text box to show....

Package Disabler Pro had another update but still wouldn't work with the Note 8. Had to switch to BK Disabler Pro.

Yep, dont work. Paid version here also.
Package Disabler Pro does not work on the Note 8. I switched to BK disabler. Works about the same. Cost $1.99 but well worth it. Sad that PDP - which I paid for - does not work on the newest Samsung Note 8 though.
The Package Disabler developers stated we needed to enable owner app with the latest update of package disabler so it can work, i didn't tried it yet because i'm already using BK.

Does anyone know if this debloater might work for our S6/edge? I found the link in the AT&T Note 4 forum. It requires no root.

looks good to start. I was using it with my N4 (you'll see me active in the thread) I grabbed an S6 today and tried it out. Read packages ok, did a filter for ATT. Checked off to hide all. a reboot for grins and no more att bloat. quicker than going through the menus / launcher and disabling each one at a time.
Even with the N4, if you disable something you shouldn't worst case is a factory reset. You're not going to brick the phone.
Nice to see it worked and much faster as well

Fortunately Samsung built in a VERY quick way to disable the apps as to not burden you with "disabling each one at a time". All you have to do is go to the app drawer, tap the "edit" button in the upper right corner, then hit the minus icon on the apps you want to disable. Cool thing about this is that you would never have to deal with a factory reset either....
Plus even if this didn't exist, wouldn't you prefer disabling one at a time over factory resetting? lol
Can someone tell me which version of Android 7 option to choose. Can't seem to get this to work on my Verizon Note 8.

Did you select all option to theme or one by one?
So after you select the s8, it will automatically show you options of stuff that is installed on your phone, you can select multiple then install them. Also you can find a theme in be play store called swift for Samsung. It is actually better because the overlays there are designed for the Samsung stuff. Hope this helps. Try it and let me know.
I noticed when i restart my phone, some overlays (eg YouTube Twitter tumblr chrome) get back to the original theme and I have to reinstall the overlays even though it says up-to-date. Does it happen to you guys?

not sure wth is going on, but i'm using substratum with magisk rooted on nemesis rom, it's saying application successful but the settings menu is still white, notification window and QS icons are still white, only the dialer and a few other 3rd party apps got themed using swift black oreo samsung
I had some of my overlays reset on restart the first time. I reinstalled and now they seem to be sticking. YouTube gave me some issues, too. I didn't know about the Samsung variant, so I have the normal Swift Black. It seems to be working under S8 option now. Maybe that is what caused my little glitch.
It was annoying, but I thought it was going to change my notifications, too. It took another 3 hours of searching to get rid of the white notification background. Ugh. But it is worth it to use an almost all black phone.
I will totally be sharing substratum with my friends and family.
I do not take credit for the link, I got it in a YouTube video :

It's working from me from a neighbors computer. It takes you to an all black page and then prompts for the download. There is nothing there. Works from a PC or directly on the phone. But there is nothing on the actual page.
Went to Galaxy app store and checked under "My Apps" I had updates for messages, Bixby Vision, Live Messages and about 8 or 10 other apps. They weren't there yesterday, so you all might want to check. I'm not sure what's different yet, but it was a hell of a lot of updates.
Thanks for heads up, here's what I got

I didn't have nearly that many but I also have been looking at it the past few days so I'm pretty sure I've done most of them recently

That's the only useful new feature of all the updates.. rest all are related to integration with bixby.
It was pain to reach all the way up on this everest tall phone to pull down the notifications, real pain with one handed use. Now the issue is solved.
Thanks for the info
did you guys notice that if you go to optimize your battery it stays a 90% and if you agree to mcafee scan it bumps it up to 100%

Yep and it broke my subs black theme for messages. I had to uninstall reboot and reinstall. All good again. I get concerned when they update the UI because subs applied can crash the UI then we need a factory reset.
touchwiz also updated. the new drop down menu in home screen settings might be new for some people but I downloaded a previous apk version from sammoble.com that already had the notification pull down option. FYI sam mobile uploads most of the apks a lot quicker then Samsung lol.

I've installed the apk for the Google dialer (https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...292-bubble-t3708218/post74588791#post74588791) and would like to be able to use that on phone calls, including the pop-up that I used to get on my nexus 6p. Right now, when I make phone calls even from the Google dialer, it defaults to the Samsung Phone. I understand that I need to disable the Samsung Phone (whose app info points to *Contacts*). Is that true, if so how do i disable it? the disabled button is greyed out.

Guessing that you are not rooted, here's your options:
1) Package Disabler Pro: (or AdHell 3,Google &/or XDA Search for the how-to)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpremium&hl=en_US
2) Disable via USB Commands:
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
The former is easy enough to re-enable the Samsung Dialer/Contacts,if necessary.
The latter (ADB Commands) requires a factory reset to bring it back.
I just tested on my Note 9,using Package Disabler Pro & the Google Phone/Contacts works just fine on its own.

i managed to get it to work by setting google phone as the default (without disabling the samsung phone). however, i'm still not getting the floating bubble for an ongoing call if i navigate away from the phone app though. any idea how to get that to work? yes, you're right. i'm not rooted.

As far from what I'm reading shortcut master doesnt work with the note 8 pie update for the hotspot. My phone still currently has DUN added at the end (assuming sprint hasn't sent out a new prl update etc..) I cant get my wife's back up. My question is since mine is still running strong with the hotspot is there a way to disable sprint from forcing a prl update and it being wiped out? Its are only form of internet at the moment and I'd really hate to lose it. Or if anyone as found a way to keep adding fun to the apn setting after pie update.
Thanks!

What I did before I took the pie update was make sure my APN had DUN. I then disabled SPRINT OMADM. This app is the one which updates your sprint profile and prl. I also disabled the sprint installer since it just installs apps i dont use. I used bk package disabler. Havent had a problem since. Feel free to ask questions.

Well, I had purchased the app a while back. I do not know why it was removed from the store but I have access to the page from my account through purchases. I have not tried other apps but here is a screenshot of the page. I would assume any package disabler would work. Even possibly ADB.
