Once in awhile I keep getting the no connection thing when on YouTube. Never does it on 4g but only on Wi-Fi. I have to either turn off then on Wi-Fi on my phone or restart my phone. Getting very frustrating. I can browse the content and everything loads but when I goto play the content it just flashes that no connection message. I have noticed it gets worse if the phone is in power saving state. Already put the option to keep the app awake and not limit the background internet. Not sure what to do

My friend and I both have N1's there are times that his radio bars are green and sometimes gray. I have not seen this with mine yet (just got it today). I only have seen gray. What would these color differences indicate?

yeah green = connected to google servers.
grey = disconnected from google servers.
Thanks Guys
Wanted to bump this. I am having this same issue, and my bars go from green to white especially after unlocking from standby. When they are white, I can't connect to anything even though I am connected to wifi at home? This issue is REALLY annoying. Anyone else dealing with this or know of a fix? Sometimes it randomly changes while I am using it. The only way to get it to go back to green is signing into google talk, which sometimes takes 3-4 tries with server connection errors in between. When I am at home I have little to no internet connection via cell, and gprs is all I can connect to, which is why I use the wifi at home. I just don't understand why I can't use the internet if the google server is not connected, and why it drops the google server connection constantly. I should be able to use wifi for browsing apps even if its not connected to google???? Or am I wrong. Please help.
Thanks
(I am running stock, and the phone is not rooted btw..thanks)

try changing your wifi sleep policy to never...
settings--> wifi or whatever--> press menu --> sleep policy --> never
that SHOULD fix it when you're at home... outside i don't know since i dont use data.
cheers!
You're mixing cause and outcome. Your WiFi doesn't work at home, or your phone doesn't want to work with your home WiFi - that's the reason you can't connect to internet, and that's also the reason why you're seeing grey bars.
I have started having this problem this week too. My WiFi is fine. The browser connects and loads pages fine. My connections are now always grey/white instead of green regardless if I'm on WiFi or 3G/2G. All Google services do not work. I am not receiving push emails nor can I force sync in the Gmail app. I've tried to connect by opening up Google Talk but it closes right away. My WiFi sleep policy is already set to never.
My phone is running stock 2.3.4, unrooted.
Just picked up the One yesterday and it's an amazing phone, however whenever I connect to my WiFi it connects quickly and then when I go to load a webpage or do anything with data it stutters, WiFi drops, 3G reconnects for a few seconds, tries to load and then WiFi reconnects. That cycle keeps going until I have to just turn WiFi off.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Yep driving me nuts trying to transfer from my old 3D. WTH.
no problems here with my netgear r6300 AC router, the initial connection does seems to take a bit longer than my old evolte but other than that not a single problem.
can anyone help me with wifi problems i am having?
my phone will connect to my home network and show connected however it seems that data does not load. I cannot load web pages often.
or when it does work it will cut out after a few minutes.
its pretty annoying as my service isnt the best in my house and if i want to watch youtube etc. wifi is obviously faster.

What is the rom that you use? Did you do clean flash? Did you flash any kernel? Did you try to forget the network and reconnect again? More information is needed.

i'm using the stock ROM but i did unlock and root. i am using a asus RT-N56U with WPA2 personal AES encryption for security. Phone set for best wifi performance, wi-fi band on auto, keep wi-fi on during sleep.
I can connect and it will work usually especially if i turn off wifi then turn it back on. However, the problem exists that the length of time the connection will remain with the ability for loading webpages/video is unknown. It could be 2-5 minutes, but i've also tested it and its been able to hold a connection while constantly streaming a netflix movie.
I'm wondering if it could be resolved by setting my phone to connect to my home network via a static ip? seen things related to that elsewhere. It is very annoying and troublesome to have to constantly turn on/off the wifi when im sitting in the same place. I could be reading a webpage then click a link on it and then it will fail to load even though showing i am connected. Then i have to switch on and off. This has happened plenty of times within 30 minutes i've had to turn it on and off 3-4 times. To me that is not "functional".
is it something with my phone or router? or both?

you definitely shouldnt have to connect with a static. it may help but what about when u r in public do you still have the problem?? if not then maybe u should try a new home networking device or play around with the security setting on ur router.
my wifi seems to work fine other than my speedtest results are only 3mbps up. i should be getting as much as 55, i used to get up to 40 on my gs3. i am totally stock, with the same settings.

Do you have sleep mode turned on, in settings, power? Or power saver?

Maybe try unplugging both your modem and router for 10 seconds and then plug them back in.

Running any Marshmallow rom on this phone always turns the wifi off after about 30 seconds of screen-off time. This is incredibly frustrating because it breaks any app I have running in the background that uses wifi. For example netflix on chromecast always loses it's connection and I cant control my chromecast because the wifi disconnected. It's also needlessly using cellular data while asleep.
I have checked all the wifi options and theyre all set correctly. There is a whole 10 pages of complaints about this on a simple google search with no real solution provided. You guys have any ideas?
Ok I have a frustrating problem where all my apps keep refreshing under specific circumstances.
When I connect to WiFi at home with full reception on 4G every damn app keeps refreshing like I reopened it.
When I disconnected wifi, still issues, it keeps refreshing everything. I can not finish a reply or post, because I lose all my work constantly.
When I disconnect 4G (airplane mode) and use only wifi, no problems.
This only happens at home, nowhere else.
Reception is 60 - 100%.
I turned on/ off the 'connect to 4G when wifi is dropping', it didn't solve it.
It is driving me insane, what am I missing?
