SM-G920T Lost Root When Upgrading ROM - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6

Hi all,
I was on 5.1.1 and rooted for quite a while with no changes on my part. Little by little some apps began misbehaving and I finally got irritated enough to upgrade in an effort to get everything behaving correctly again. I moved to 6.0.1 which went fine except in the process I lost root. I've tried several times to achieve root again and so far no luck. I went so far as to flash a new BL and move to 7.0 but got stuck on the boot screen. So I went back to 6.0.1 and the device is back to where I was without root.
Any ideas on how to get rooted once again on 6.0 or later (hopefully without wiping all data)?

You need to flash TWRP using Odin. Once successful, boot the phone and copy the Superuser.zip onto the device. Reboot the phone to TWRP and then install the Superuser.zip

[Q] S5 Stuck at Boot Animation With Blue LED After Stock Flash

I searched and found nothing exactly like what I was experiencing and nothing I hadn't already tried. Hopefully someone has seen this before. I HAD a nice rooted stock SM-G900A 4.4.4 and now I have a flashy gold brick (soft). I rooted by downgrading the kernel to use towelroot then flashed stock kernel back. Everything worked fine for about a week or so. I'm not sure at what point I started having issues exactly so I'm not sure if an app or mild mod could have caused my issues. The only thing I had done was use SuperSU to block Knox and change the terrible TW stock sounds to standard ogg clicks and what not. The trouble started with the camera. I opened my camera and the screen would flash green then I would have red ghost images in a pattern on the screen. The pictures I took had the same effect when viewed in the gallery. If I switched modes the problem would go away with the camera until I closed then opened the camera app again so I assumed it was a software rather than hardware problem. I couldn't find any info on a fix so I did a factory reset. The problem persisted. I decided finally to flash back to stock. That's when it really got bad. After flashing to stock the phone will boot to the Samsung animation with the swoosh, freeze there for a few seconds without completing the boot animation then the screen shuts off and the phone becomes unresponsive. The only signs of life is the blue LED is constant lit. I have to do a battery pull to start over. I have flashed just the PDA and I have flashed the whole shootin match (except for BL) and I get the same results. I have tried stock tar files from a couple different sources. It will go into download mode as well as stock recovery where I tried a factory reset after flashing. PLEASE HELP!
So I flashed OA1 stock kernel and got it to boot. Of course now I get the Update interrupted message when I try for the OTA to anything newer than the 4.4.2 it's running. And after 8 hours of messing with this gem the camera issue persists.

Go here and flash back to NCE. Then take the OTAs.

That is what I ended up doing just an hour before your reply and all is well again. I suppose my first attempt to go back to NCE didn't work because I didn't use the downgrade flash, just a regular 4.4.2 stock. There must be a difference between the two. The OTAs still wouldn't work so I ended up installing the updates from external sd. The lollipop OTA is downloading fine though. Thanks for confirming I FINALLY went the right route. This root screw up wasn't as bad as my last (efs S3 debacle) but it still took too many hours to fix.

If you take the 5.0 ota you won't be able to root. Just FYI. There is no root for it yet. There is a pay however in the general section on how to upgrade to 5.0 and keep root.

Note 3 Unroot Help and OTA update failure
I rooted my note 3 a long time ago with Towlroot running on original firmware, every time I attempt to grab the OTA update it downloads reboots begins install end gets to % and then fails due I assume to the custome/unlocked/rooted situation. I followed super users unroot and uninstall instructions . It removes root however it still boots ATT then Samsung "custum" with a lil lock on the bottom open shown open. Even a full wipe and restore does not get rd of this custom boot screen, Any ideas how I can remove completely any changed towlroot made so I can get the OTA, or is there a version I can push to phone using Odin.. Any advice or help appreciated as the current software/OS is buggy, TouchWizz crashes, phone can sometime reboot its self on its own,
Thanks in advance,
Eben

If you want STOCK Lollipop Odin files http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/general/100-stock-lollipop-5-0-n900aucueoc1-t3069609 OR ROOTED Lollipop http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59666958&postcount=2 For the Rooted Lollipop you will need to root it again and install busybox, supersu and safestrap (which I'm sure you know). Locked Bootloader Before I Flashed System After Downgrading to 5.1.1 from 6.0.2

Hello everyone,
I ordered a Nexus 6 for our web developers. They needed it to run 5.1.1 so I was in the process of flashing it. I thought I had flashed everything but then realized I had forgotten the most important part - the system!!! Normally this would be OK, just flash the system.... except I issued the fastboot oem lock command. Now I'm stuck with a phone that has a 5.1.1 bootloader, recovery, modems, etc, but a 6.0.2 system partition..... And it just gets stuck on the Marshmallow booting screen. I've left it for an hour and it was still there.
Is there any way to get out of this? Have I bricked the phone? I can't see a way to get this phone usable again as I cannot flash anything from the bootloader since it requires I allow the BL to be unlocked from inside android.... the only thing I think I could do would be in recovery, but since it is stock, there's not much hope there either.
Thanks in advance.....
I tried sideloading c5b2b136f40a1551a5cc417cf90cadb582096a63.signed-shamu-MRA58R-from-LMY48T.zip but it came back with
"Package expects..... LMY48T... or ...MRA85R.... device has....LMY48Y.... Error in /sideload/package.zip (Status 7)"
have you checked out this thread?

Wow that didn't even come up in any of my googling... I'll check it out.
Hopefully it works!
did the nexus 6 originally come with 6.0.2 on board? the latest now is 6.0.1
So that worked - I had to download the OTA downgrade to 6.0.1 but I got out of it. The FRP screwed me for 72 hours though because I was forced to reset the password on the account I was using for it.

Update rooted I537 NE3 to OC7 keeps freezing

I have been trying to follow the [How-To] Update to I537_OC7 - 5.0.1 and KeepRoot guide for my SGH-I537, but have been unsuccessful. I did it about a year ago with I537_OC7_Stock_Rooted_Deodexed_ROM, but something happened that it got stuck in the AT&T logo and had to re flash to 4.4.2 NE3.
I have rooted and tried many times to flash I537_OC7_Stock_Rooted_Deodexed_ROM and I537_OC7_Stock_Rooted_ROM using FlashFire v. 0.55.1, per the instructions on the thread, but it keeps freezing on the AT&T Logo. I have to wipe the cache partition to be able to boot the normally again, but on the same firmware.

Attempted UnRooting and seems SoftBricked

I recently pulled my old Note 3 out of the drawer to do some misc tweaks, and think i screwed it all up...LMFAO!!!
Quick specs of phone...
Samsung Galaxy Note III (AT&T SM-N900A) 64gb (yes, i said 64gb and not 32gb)...but NOT why I am posting, so please don't even comment about it.
Steps that led to where I am...
First off I will say the device was originally rooted 4.3 back in 2013, and never updated since. Today I decided I wanted to update the phone to the last OS that worked perfect for a root, no i didn't just update it. I followed SuperSU's & TWRP instructions on first bringing the phone back to stock, didn't work and left me in recovery mode. Again, doubtful but may have been caused by me. So I was left with a wipe/restore because every time I attempted recovery via OneClickBin it would fail. After wipe/restore I was able to reinstall SuperSU and device was still rooted, obviously. So I attempted to completely remove root through SuperSU and it just kept getting stuck on spinning wheel. So then I attempted to reinstall TWRP and now I am stuck at the screen shown below in screen shots. Thanks in advance for any and all assistance, regarding this matter.

Oh yeah...and I'm a total and permanent disabled Veteran who doesn't have the ability to "go to AT&T store". So lets please try to fix this without going anywhere. Thanks again in advance.

If the phone doesn't have a locked bootloader, you can try flashing back to stock with Odin and then run ota updates until the phone is running the latest stock ROM.
AT&T variant have a locked bootloader. You can't use TWRP or any other custom recovery.
Please follow this guide to fix your softbrick, root and update.
