how do i build the R1 HD's kernel? - BLU R1 HD Questions & Answers

hey all not sure if this belongs here or the Q&A section as this is more a development question than a general or troubleshooting question but if a admin/mod would put it in whichever is the right section it would be great.... anyway i was trying to follow this guide here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/guide-easy-kernel-building-tutorial-t3581057 using the R1 HD's Kernel Source upon running the build.sh made from following the mentioned guide it ouputs: " no make rule for p6601_defconfig stop" im really confused here as what went wrong. also im pretty sure i linked the toolchain but not 100% sure im running ubuntu mate 16.04.3 LTS 64bit.

a little newbie help

which radio is better to use with cyanogenmod 5.0.6?
best to start of with whatever you have unless you are coming from froyo. and why not go with 5.0.7.1 when it comes out later tonight?
you can choose other radios to try afterwards based on your area. but if you have something that works, no need to change.
what is the difference with 5.0.7 and 5.0.7.1?
wrong forum dude, this is development, not some random newbie question, use the search function!

I agree. I dont understand how so many newbies miss the "Nexus One Q&A" section. I wonder if they know what Q&A stands for.
But for the radio. Use the one that is on cyanogens post. If he posts it to be working for his build, then it must be a good one.
Thread moved to Q&A.
great point, i should have mentioned that in the first place. as for whats the difference, check the 5.0.7thread cyanogen stated what is to be changed.

[WIKI] Need your help keeping it up to date.

Hi everyone
Most of you don't know me as I haven't contributed much to XDA (yet!) However since I'm not too good with developing and the such, I'd like to keep the wiki updated. In the past few days I've learned most of the syntax for MediaWiki and have cleaned up our page considerably. As I said in my other post, I'm not looking for a "Wiki Mod" title or position. Everyone here is free to edit the wiki as they please. If you are game with my motivation to keep the wiki up to date I could certainly use your help. What I need from you awesome devs is to let me know the name of your roms and when they are updated so I can reflect that information in the wiki.
Any ideas you have or anyone that wants to help me is welcome to do so.
If you have information or anything for that matter you want on the wiki but dont want to do yourself (We've all been there so no judgement from me ) send me a PM or email me at my username @gmail.com.
The wiki is located here for anyone that wants it.
Edit: I understand that this has very little to do with Development (If anything to do with it at all) but please understand that some of us only stay in our own sub-forum and don't venture out very often.
How about a little vote?
Add my AnyKernel thread and ZenKernel the first kernel to be released that is built from official htc heroc 2.6.29 source with overclock
This needs to be stickied in Q&A and General forums more than Dev IMO

[Q] Overclocked Kernel for Dual-boot Honeycomb

Well, this question is for the people doing dual-boot Honeycomb: What is the current version of Dalingrin's overclocked kernel to use for a Honeycomb installation on the dual boot partition? I've got the original one from the dual-boot HC thread, but it's now pretty old. There are updates to the kernel for the main ROM installation, it seems, but I can't find a version that works for HC on the dual-boot partition. Is it true that an updated one hasn't been done?
Sorry that this questions seems out of place. It seems absolutely ridiculous for this question to go out here in the general forums, but apparently this forum system is forcing me as a new user, even though all the other people asking these kinds of questions do it to the appropriate people in appropriate threads in the development forums. Oh well, screwed by the intertubes again. Can someone please repost this message in the development thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959461 ? Pretty Please? Thanks.

There are instructions everywhere on how to flash it. Also, thats an old version, the new KJ3 released today
step 1. dont post questions in dev forum
step 2. ???
step 3. profit
I'll get straight to the point....
Despite stickys and forum announcements most of us are still finding ourselves becoming terribly, terribly vexed at the amount of [Q]'s cluttering the dev section...
Therefore, from now on, if you do not follow the rules outlined below, you will be infracted. Break them again and you may find yourself unable to post anything at all on any forum!!
[Q]Surely thats a bit harsh aint it??
[A]Not really....
We've tried to be nice about it but that clearly doesnt work.
If you cannot read and abide by the simple rules in this sticky then I dont know how you're going to manage to hack your device without running into trouble.
The Dev section is NOT for asking questions.....
The Dev section is NOT for general topics..........
All threads posted MUST be prefixed with a description of the thread, [ROM] / [Kernel] etc etc.....*
*(Not planning on being particuarly strict on this. You guys (the devs), know how to title a thread.... just a pointer for new devs.)
Basically, unless your thread is to actually release something or discuss something of a very technical and n00b unfriendly nature, it doesnt belong here!
Pretty simple really.....
If you see something that shouldnt be here then PM me....
I will try to check in as reguarly as I can but I have a few sections to keep an eye on and believe it or not, a life outside XDA
Yes thats right, there is life outside XDA

This is a direct quote from the sticky at the top of this forum. Read around before you post. This would have been received much better in the Q&A Forum. Because its a question. And nowhere close to a development.
Thread locked. xCRZYx, post your question in the Question and Answer forum. This is development only.

[Q&A] [Nook HD+] Nook HD and HD+ rooting instructions (now permanent)

Q&A for [Nook HD+] Nook HD and HD+ rooting instructions (now permanent)
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [Nook HD+] Nook HD and HD+ rooting instructions (now permanent). If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

This is a very old thread and is obsolete. And it depends on what you mean by "root". Usually rooting means adding root access rights to your stock ROM. But some users mean that they want a rooted alternate ROM like CM put on their device to replace the stock ROM.
If you want the former, go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and it gives instructions for adding root access to your stock ROM. It is up to date.
If you want the latter, go to the dummies guide also linked in my signature. It will give you instructions on how to replace your stock ROM with a rooted form of CM.

If your HD+ does not seem to want to boot off SD, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288688.
