I am considering buying a Huawei P10 Lite as a replacement for a broken Nexus 5X. The thing I liked the most about the Nexus was that it was very easy to root. Is rooting a simple process on the P10 lite? I want to be able to use Magisk, Greenify and ElementalX Kernel as they were all essential for me when my 5X was working.

So I'm thinking of buying the P10 and I'm currently a Samsung user and really like its UI, is there a ROM or a theme bringing the Samsung Expereince to the P10? By the way, because I'm not 100% sure that I am going to buy it, would you recommend this, the Galaxy S7, the LG G6 or the Honor 9? The P10, the Honor 9 and the S7 cost about 410€ here and the G6 is a bit cheaper at 395€

That would depend on your budget and specific requirements.
I'm waiting for the new Essential Phone or the Pixel 2 before I switch.
Huawei mate 10 will be amazing.only wait for it
Personally I would prefer Google pixel phones. No bloatware, no lag caused by preinstalled applications, and best support for everything Android pretty much.
Hello! I am thinking about getting a Mi 9 after a Huawei Mate 10 Pro hardbrick.. How good is the development support from Xiaomi? Are they more open and kind to developers than Huawei? How big are the risk of bricking a Xiaomi phone, and how are the chances of recovering from the bricked state if it would happen?
Thanks
I wondering the same thing as well. Im from the United States and this would be my first Xaomi Phone.
Currently using a Oneplus 5t and its still running great.
The development is going steady for a phone that has recently launched, and that didn't have a simultaneous worldwide release.
There are one-click tools to unbrick this phone already, and AFAIK haven't seen anyone bricking a phone beyond a point it couldn't have been recovered. So, fiddling with it is safe.
After my huawei p20 lite broke, i had to get a replacement asap, i didnt have much money, i found p8 lite 2017 for 30 eur used, just minor scratches, so i got it and here i am, typing on it, i lived the first day with EMUI, which lagged on it, so using @huaweihax on telegram with the method, i unlocked bootloader, now since i keep having issue with roms, i keep rom hopping, as of typing this im on phh quack v222 gsi, i also tried OpenKirin LineageOS 16, the best stable for me was darkjoker360's LineageOS 15.1 ROM with OTA updates, now i dont love this phone, i kind of hate it, but it does the job fine for me, i love the design tho, looks better than the p20 lite, and EMUI 9.1 are better than 8, and the p8 lite 2017 didn't get EMUI 9.1 i did manage to port it, fixed everything expect the sim card, but meh, i can live without it, i do miss usb c and wifi 5ghz tho, should you buy this in 2020? Depends on the price, for 100 eurs? no 50 euros and under its fine, but i don't recommend buying any huawei.
