Hi,
I'm looking to use Tasker to create a countdown that plays a custom sound when it hits zero. Is this possible with Tasker? If not, does anyone know of another way of doing this?
Best wishes
Hayden
Yes it should be. A simple for loop and some wait actions. At the end of the actions, you play the sound.

Hey all,
This community has done a lot for me & I'm doing some coding atm. What I am trying to do is show a notification. I know how to do that, but then how can I make it perform an action, like stop playing music (not what it actually does, just an example). I know you can use the last argument to point to an intent, but the only thing I can make that do is open the app.
Is there any way to create an intent that will just run code in the background without going to the app. Whenever I try this I get a FC before it even calls the notification.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Hi,
I always use MortPlayer to hear my Music (because of Folders). And often I can control it with Media-Control-Widget on my GG.
But there are 2 things I really dislike. First one is that I have to Pause/Stop playing to see the Name of the Track. And the second one is that I not see how late it is because there is no watch on the widget. That sucks.
Because of this I have some questions:
1.) Is there an alternative for Original Media-Control-Widget?
2.) Could I directly start MortPlayer with Media-Control-Widget? What I have to do?
3.) Is there someone who could rewrite this App/Widget to show clock and Trackname and rearange the volume-Buttons. If it is possible
I don't know anything about Android developing.
Thx forward.

I don't have any suggestions but some comments on your post. When I go to Media Controller, within a milisecond, it displays the name of the track, without me touching any buttons.
Also, what do you mean how late? You want a clock on the Media Controller? Why? I put the shortcut for Swipe Down on clock to go to Media Controller. It's easy access to both.
Yeah, I don't have that problem either. Clock would be useful I guess
Here's something to try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2610167 (look at plugins available)
Well before GG I've got an Pebble Smartwatch, and on MediaControl the Trackname and the clock will always be shown. This was very useful, because sometimes the Track starts and after a short while I will see whats the Name of the Track. But then I have to stop and start it. This is isn't very good. And I think there is enough space to set the Volume-Buttons on other place to let Trackname and clock always stays on display.
But now after I've updated GearManager to newest version here in forum, MediaControl only starts Standard Music Player .
Is it possible? There are some information about tasker on pocket cast website but i didnt understand it. Basicly what i want is, when alarm starts to ring, instead of boring alarm sound, i want pocket cast to play most recently (auto) downloaded podcast.
P. S.: i use timely as alarm app.
P. S. S: no root

I don't think Timely has Tasker integration, unfortunately, meaning you can't directly create a context based on when the Alarm fires.
One thing you could do is, when you go to sleep, create a dynamic time context for Tasker based on whenever the next alarm is supposed to go off. Then in the task, you disable alarm volume and start Pocket Casts instead.
Well, i can use another alarm(even stock) but my main problem is, i can't get pocket cast to play recently downloaded podcast.

You can use intents to broadcast the play option with PocketCasts, as described here: http://www.shiftyjelly.com/support/pocketcasts#63
This reddit thread might also help you: https://www.reddit.com/r/TaskerFiles/comments/30hhon/intents_pocket_casts/
thanks for your help. it seems you can't really do much with pocket cast atm :/
Gentle Alarm integrates with Tasker, so you could set a profile that hits play on PocketCasts using the intents above when the main alarm goes off in Gentle Alarm. There is no way that I know of though to select which podcast you want to start besides the one already queued up, unfortunately. Even being able to select playlists would allow you to create an alarm clock playlist, but it can't be done as is.
Thanks for the suggestion, i have never heard about gentle alarm, i will definitely give it a go.

Never really liked Gentle alarm, other alarm apps with tasker integration that I know of in case you want to try other alternatives are AlarmPad and Turbo Alarm
There is an app called AutoShare that has intents for pocket casts for basic functions, or use another called Auto Input to tap on a specific podcast. Neither require root
Thanks, i will check them out too.
Hi
I'm new to this so please bear with me. I have a eufy smart doorbell and am trying use tasker to click the notification received when the bell is pressed.
I have managed to do this on my phone with autonotification, however still trying to get it to work on my android tv box.The problem is that the box doesn't allow me to enable notification intercept.
So I am looking for either
(a) a way to allow notification interception. Possibly by rooting but have no experience of this or if it would work
(b) use something else as the trigger without intercepting the notification. Only thing I can think of is when a certain tone is played i.e the tone for the doorbell is played. I went through all the event options and didn't see anything like this so don't know if it is even possible.
If anyone has any other ideas as to how to trigger the task it would be great, or how to enable autonotification.
Thanks
Imran
Hi to all,
I've always used a great app to manage different sound profiles but with OnePlus 10 Pro (Android 13) I've encountered a big issue.
I need to set notifications to off during the night but rings and alarms have to be set to high.
This is because I need to be contactable for work but I do not want to hear notifications from other apps (mails, whatsapp, ...).
That app is Volume Butler.
In the past, it was simply possible to set the volume for notifications to 0 but now if I set this to 0, automatically the phone set the "do not disturb" mode that prevents calls and alarms, so I have to manually disable it and the automatic process is not working...
I was thinking to use an automated process to change the ringtone for notification using a null-sound but I have not found anything...
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Alex
Tasker can do this. It may be overkill for what you need though, and it's not free.
It's like a way to create profiles that get triggered on a massive number of different things.
A couple I have for example, I turn off AOD on my phone when I'm sleeping, so it doesn't light up the room. I turn off wifi leaving the house, and turn it back on when I get to work, or back home. I mute my phone when I'm at work, and there's an appointment in my work calendar...that sort of stuff.
Tasker is my most used app, as it can do SO many things.

Thank you! I've found MacroDroid that can automatically change the notification sound and for me is enough!
