Hello,
I have such a question: is it possible to make the phone run when connected to the power? Now when I plug in I need to hold the switch and I want to automatically. I know there is such a possibility with Samsung phones. I have read that it is not possible to change the system files, but it is possible by the appropriate soft. And here is my question whether someone has encountered such software?
Greetings Michael

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the mini USB port to access an external hard drive, and/or a USB Flash drive/card reader.
You would need this: http://www.casecooler.com/usbab5pgech.html
for starters then you would need a program to know how to read the drive.
It is defintely possible just not sure if anyone has taken the time to do it.
It would be very useful. If someone is already interested?
my understanding is that it is not readily possible due to the device not being a USB host device.
Google it or search these forums (not just kaiser) and you will see a lot of talk about it.

Please do your research before use the phrase "It is defintely possible". For a start, when it can be connected doesnt mean it can be used. I can come out with an adapter which converts the USB-mini to a 240v-wall-plug, and it doesn't mean that you can charge your phone directly on a 240v AC power. It is like saying, if I were to use this, I'll be able to send my music from the phone to the car stereo.
The plug/socket designers came out with various plugs and sockets for a reason (i.e. so that people dont simply plug things together that does work).
Anyway, you should check on the topic 'usb host'.
I started working in this direction smtime ago but then got busy...hopefully if i get sm time in cming months, there might be smthing on the offer...
Hai..
iam new bie, i just newly purchased xperia xli. after using 4 month, iam now facing some problem, every time if i need to charge or connection for active sync i need to restart, and this repeats every time. and if i try to open task manager or Device information in settings it will give an error
"cannot open 'ctlpnl'. A critical conponent is either missing or cannot start because program memory is unavailable. Tap start> settings > system tab> task manager, stop programs that did not automatically stop and try again".
and i cannot even make screen off by pressing power button for that also i need to restart.
So please give me some information regarding this so that i can solve this problem.
Thank you
I would hardreset it
Thanks for reply
I had done it already, after hard reset first time i can charge and connect to active sync also, and if i disconnect it and try another time it wont work, again i have to hard reset to charge or to connect it to active sync. so pls give me solution for this,

software version: R3AA003
ROM VERSION: 1.05.931.3 WWE
MODEL : XLI
xperia usb connection problem
i see no one is taking this matter seriously
i have googled for the past 4 weeks and it seams many people are having this problem with xperia/wm6 devices - its just that not many of them understand the problem and know how to express themselves (e.g. many belive it's a problem with the pc's usb ports)
i would suggest does interested in IT mysteries and things like that to look into this one. i can explain the problem here:
I've used xperia/windows mobile 6 device for about 6 months, syncing it daily or semi daily (or weekly..) all that time via USB connection and active sync installed on winxp.
one day i plugged the usb cord into my phone and - nothing. the phone has started charging as thou it's connected to a charger and not to a PC - one of the first things i noticed cause i specifically always have the "don't charge the device while connected to a pc" box ticked on.
what is very important to know is that NOTHING of the following didn't fix this problem:
changing cords
changing ports
changing pc's
soft reset via button on the back
hard reset
nudging the cable
usb hub pc connection
direct pc connection
updating windows mobile
toggling ANY option in the OS itself
charging/discharging the device
changing the chargin cable, then connecting
leaving it off without a battery for a long period of time (12+ hours)
---------all other idiotic suggestions that are being written all over the net by dumb asses who think they can shoot a guess and come of as smart guys---------
bear in mind that this happened after absolutely no physical damage to the device or any kind of extreme working conditions, exceeded cpu/memory use etc.
it would be great if someone could solve this mystery. activesync is still working via Bluetooth but it's just stupid to transfer files over the slow bluetooth connection whilst having a USB connection as one of the greatest advantages of this kind of a device
i kindly thank in advance to anyone having some kind of an idea about how it's possible for a USB connection to just stop working, for absolutely no reason.
bye&cheers!
Matija
Anyone has the solution for this problem? Like Matija said, it happened suddenly for no reason... My x1 has been facing this problem for 3 weeks
I cannot update my phone via my PC
I recently having problem with my X1 syncing with my home PC and charging from my Laptop
Now I found out that, those mini USB cable might be good enough to charge the phone, or even trying to sync, but then it gets error more and more often. So try getting some better quality cables (ie. those with "Magnetic Shield" near the end), see if that fix the problem
good luck
Flash another ROM?

Does anyone know of a way to control an android phone remotely using a PC or even another Android phone? My situation is that I am trying to help someone who is in a different state than me with their phone. Its hard to help if you cant see\control the device. The closest I have been able to come is to install the SDK on their computer and plug the phone into the PC everytime they need help. This allows me to do a single screen shot to see but it doesnt allow me to take control of the device. Does anyone have any suggestions to how i can view the screen real time (even if its through a PC) and\or control the device?

Doesn't seem too possible, and if it is, nothing is out right now to do so. There are a lot of security issues with Remote Access programs, even for desktop computers, and a rooted Android phone is a hacker's dream if he can get ahold of it.
Hi guys. Please help in solving the problem. Since the answer can not find anywhere else.
The essence of the problem as follows:
Phone Samsung Galaxy Note 5 GT-N9208 has ceased to be determined by connecting to a computer, does not define when I connect the phone OTG flash drive, but there is a charge easily with any charging device, including a computer. The flash mode phone is not detected on your computer (connected to different computers, the result is the same), which advise to do? Called the service center Samsung said the phone is not in our region, so they will not do it. I apologize for the English.
Is anyone having trouble connecting their phone to their car? I keep getting a message saying that I need to download the Smart Switch app. I have USB Debugging on and when I select the USB for MDI uption under the USB connection option it automatically switches back to the transfer files option. Any hints or pointer on how to get it to work? Thank you.
@EPgoat,
Go here to the Android Auto forum, and do a search. If you don't find someone with a similar problem, then post your question there. You will find a lot more help for this issue there. And FWIW, these types of issues with AA are not unusual.
