For those of you who already have the OnePlus 3, I would assume the chance is very slim - thats totally understandable
Will you now be buying the One Plus 3T and developing a custom rom/kernel for the device ?
I Think you should better ask in op3 forum..

Some Devs might not have a OP3 already ?
Asked in OP3 Q & A forum also.
I will buy it
I certainly won't be buying it due to the lack of sdcard slot, meh camera, lame screen, no VR but I will support it in the Kali NetHunter project as well as TWRP.
Already have a kernel repo updated, security fixed, and easily standalone compiled: https://github.com/jcadduono/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8996/commits/3T-android-6.0
Don't see what OP3 users fuss is about, there's really nothing special when you compare the 3T to the 3. I do think it's odd for OnePlus to release a new device for a higher price with little improvement and no incentive for other users to jump on the bandwagon.
ZTE's Axon 7 looks interesting for around the same price. (the extra 2 GB RAM and 200 mHz max clock boost isn't going to make any noticeable difference)
And it's got nice loud stereo audio, Daydream capable (soon), 1440p AMOLED, and an sdcard slot.
Shame about its availability.
OP3 roms should work on OP3T, right? I am looking for a new phone and I was thinking about OnePlus 3T but I am really afraid that it will lack a proper developer support. I would buy Pixel XL 128GB but availability is awful outside of the US.

They can be combined in sources and have very similar build trees, so it wouldn't take much effort to compile a OnePlus 3 ROM to work on the OnePlus 3T, but it would still require a different build.
Prepare for the influx of users posting "why wont this work on my 3t?!?!!!!"
I was about to get the oneplus 3, but after hearing about the oneplus 3t i rather just wait for that one. I hope op3 devs will work on 3t too

i will not buy it. but i am planning to work on this device. did this to other devices too.
planned: twrp, cyanogenmod, maybe beanstalk and marshrom
have the oneplus 3 and will be ordering 3T the day it comes available in belgium (28/11/2016).
Hope we have more ppl like flo071 developing... already a big fan of 14.1 thread
As mentioned before by others i also am afraid of the support (from oneplus aswell as from the community) because of the two different versions. Guess ill keep the regular 3 for a while for testing roms and keep the 3T stock apart from kernel and root.
greetz
I'll just leave this here on behalf of 3 devs.

Noooo reading that makes me doubt where I was so sure to buy the phone thinking devs would pick up asap on the 3T... Hmmm no kernel...

I'm hoping devs attempt to grab maintainers at least... I have the G5 from T-Mobile and funny thing...it's just now getting dev support butt I'm switching to the 3T anyways. I want the newer chipset, more ram, better faster dev support....pixel xl 128 cost too much. I'll miss my wide screen camera but whatever. I got a 360 camera if I need really wide pictures. Long story short the oneplus 3 has great dev support. I can't imagine the 3T will be any different. Oneplus will put out the camera libs eventually, they are probably holding out because they are redoing then for Android N and don't see a reason to release Android m libs when they will be useless come one month. I'm excited for this phone..I'll miss some things about my g5, but won't miss the dev community that took several months to push out anything.

Oh and the sapphire glad i bet will be much better any smudge..the G5 was a blurry smudge mess. Idk if sapphire has anti smudge properties.....I hope so...man this reply it's way off topic.

OnePlus has something planned for the devs
I am getting one, if it matters any
I've already got a zImage and Wifi module built for it. I just need the device in my hands to pull the ramdisk and test. Note though. It's only a stock kernel with the verifiedbootstate flag removed to pass SafetyNet and I don't plan on doing much else with it. I know the stock kernel performs great for me on the OP3 and I don't plan on straying too far from that. I will leave all the bells and whistles to the good developers.

Kernel is the only thing I really care about to geek out on as for ROMs I'm happy with what oneplus offer in terms of features and customisation. And who knows what we will get with 7.0>7.1 update. They seem to of matured alot this generation so hopefully it will be a good year for owners.

We just need TWRP and then we can get some anykernel going, I am thinking this is a good candidate for some EAS from Pixel, what do you all think?

Someone posted they were going to work on TWRP, so hopefully that will get done soon. It will be possible without it but TWRP will make life a lot easier. As for EAS, I don't know much about it yet. RenderBroken just released a kernel for the OP3 that utilizes it. We could check that out and see how well it works for them.

As there are no custom roms available for oneplus 3T so can we use oneplus 3 roms for 3T bcoz they are almost familiar in terms of hardware.
Those roms might just work (of course some things like front facing camera probably won't work) but I am 100% sure that we will still need to build OP3T specific kernels for these roms due to different cpu, ...
Seriously.
Literally 4 thread below there is already someone who made a thread about this.
Search. This has been asked and answer numerous times now

You answered your question yourself. Almost
Hello
So as you see in the title I want buy a raspberry but I prefer buy the one which have most developement
And if possible get the kernel tree pleas
So between pi2b and pi3b which should I take regarding developement ?
I mean I prefer a lot of os if possible and I saw also pi3b+ was announced .
So if anyone can help me in that choice thanks in advance :good:
pi3b obvious choice, it comes with BT and WiFI
@infus38: I personally recommend the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ but I'm only using it for the purposes as described here.
Thx to both of you

I have just went from the S8+ to the X2 Pro and I was surprised how much the X2 Pro is advanced if you compare to it to the S8+ .... loading times, installing apps, GPS catch, network, wifi retention, don't want to talk about the autonomy or the screen on time.... it's just another world. You can switch to the X2 Pro without hesitation. :good:
Thanks mate. So decision is simply. Time to upgrade.

I also would say go for it , this phone is really great. i have the chinese version and i love it (just takes some extra adb commands and patience to work well in the usa). if you can get the global id say grab it and enjoy !!!
I'm in the same situation, I am currently using a Sony XZ Premium. Also, can any users confirm that it supports Netflix
Oneplus One X Realme X2 Pro?
Hello guys, I have a Oneplus One and I have been very happy with it during these 5 years, mostly because of the support it has at software level (many custom ROMs are available for it), but now it is old and it gives me some performance errors. So that I want to upgrade my phone and I have seen this Realme X2 pro pretty interesting, however I am hesitating if this phone will have as much support as Oneplus brand, because I want it to last a lot and I think this is only got thanks to the community.
Do you think this phone will have a big community behind? I would like to flash it with an AOSP custom ROM sometime.

For now, as you can see, very poor dev support..
unfortunately
finally i decided for an upgrade , just ordered my realme x2 pro instead of oneplus 7t as it does not have a 3.5mm jack . went through internet several times , people are complaining about the recent updates no 90hz and stuff and this got me worried that was it a bad investment :/
so im gonna install a custom rom as soon as i get the phone. curious to know what is the best custom rom right now as a daily driver ? and are we gonna get any further developments ? because the device's hardware is capable of doing so much in this price segment
and yeah can anyone suggest me a guide how to root it ? it'll be much appreciated
I think i'm the only one that likes realme ui...It works flawless for me stock!the sound is very good, also the screen and battery life are fine! If people want to play ,please just buy a ps4 or an xbox, so I really dont care about playing at 90hz. Phone games for me are when i'm traveling or outside home, and the one that I play, just works awesome on the realme x2 pro (call of duty mobile).
About root, read as much that you can, just make sure you dont relock the bootloader, if you're not sure that the phone is completely stock. Also join the realme x2 pro development telegram, you'll find good info everyday.
