I was tearing down my phone to replace a broken screen, and realized that the camera is a module, that could be replaced.
However, my question was, would it be possible to replace the 3MP camera with say a 8MP samsung s2 of s3 camera? What are the problems you think I would run into, if I do that?

Actually, yes. Its possible, but the camera is going to have to fit the socket. So say, go with the Galaxy W 5MP camera which should fit, then extract all of the camera libraries from a galaxy w ROM and flash them to your phone and it should work.
On the nexus 7 some guy added a back camera and the device didn't have one to begin with.

I have the M7 and a terrible purple camera problem. It's a hardware problem. Replace the module theoretically should work.

The camera you found is not for your exact model but since the G2 variants don't differ that much, especially in the camera, i think it's safe to buy. If it's wrong. it's just 6 dollars

I had the fuzzy and shaked pictures problem too, but I figured that the problem is the magnet of the speaker... The camera has its own magnets to control the lens, but the speaker magnet is very close, so this "interference" causes that the camera dont focuses properly... My fix was put a layer between the camera module and the speaker, and now the camera works like new!

I think I'm not the only one, who thinks that our Redmi 4 Pro has a horrible camera. I really like the phone, but this is troubling me a lot.
The question is, would it be possible, to change the camera module, from another model?
I expect that some software modification would be needed, but that I consider a smaller issue, than finding a better module that would fit.
Has anyone tried this? Even on different phones. Any tips on how to search for the module?
