I am trying to pair my AA app on my phone with a USB cable to the car's head unit.
Nothing happens.
I have tried enabling us debugging without any luck either.
Any idea why it doesn't work ?
Thanks.

Make sure your Android auto and google play service is Updated.
Make sure about your connectivity cable is working fine or not? original or not?
You can reboot your phone.
Can you provide some info as your Android version and AA app version Handset model name and number?

Have you installed something like this on the headunit:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ge...ndroid-4-1-headunit-reloaded-android-t3432348
Because out of the box these headunits don't have support for AA.

Anyone have google dialer apk. Latest version that works with moto x1575.

Sorry for the wrong version.
And this works? What version is it?
4.2.1**** works great on my Pure.

I'm pretty sure it does. But its not the latest. Stock is 6.0-5. Thanks anyways.

6.0-5 is not the same as Google's 6.x Phone app release. OEMs such as Motorola use generic version numbers like that with their apps that match the Android version they ship with. Check the stock "Messaging" app, stock "Downloads" app, etc, they're all 6.0-5.
---------- Post added at 11:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:45 AM ----------
To answer your question, if you are running stock un-rooted Marshmallow, I believe this is the last version of the old Google Dialer that will install on a stock non-Nexus system.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...google-phone-2-5-11_rc8-android-apk-download/
My bad I guess... This is the version in the Play Store here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.dialer
If there's a newer version I'd love it too.

Ah thank you for the heads up. Noticed that it did say google.dailer.com thought it was google dialer. But I guess its a OEM ASOP in that aspect. Have you use it or tried it? Is this applied via system?

I have used it, the version in the link I posted. It does not need to be installed as a system app, you can do it normal. As far as I know it is the last (or only) version that will install normally.
works and will update to newer version in playstore.

Guys, you really can't imagine how much I'm nervous and frustrated. I tried almost all custom roms in last two months, but Android Car only works on stock MIUI or custom MIUI eu rom. Every AOSP rom has this issue.
Step to reproduce:
- Install Android Auto
- Grant permissions
- When the app will ask for "draw/display over other apps" permission, grant it.
- Android Car can't detect the permission granted and will never start. It keeps asking for the same permission
Multiple reboots, multiple cache/data deletions, multiple clean flash for multiple different roms, but the issue is still here.
Please help, I need Android Auto but I deeply hate MIUI. I don't know what else I can try, it's sad and frustrating. Help.
Update.
I've tried installing old versions of Android Auto. Nothing changed.

Ok, but every Oreo rom has this issue...
If you have Android Auto compatible vehicle, why still stuck with a $150 phone which can just make-do with custom rom setups?
The issue is still here. I hope some devs can look into this issue, sooner or later.

Not only Android auto but also some other banking apps crash on custom roms. Magiskhide also not working for these.
What you can try make Android auto a system app and then give permission manually. See if works. Android auto supports very few countries so we can't test widely.

I tried with the system app stuff but it didn't work. I was having your exact issues but now banking, fingerprint and MagiskHide are perfectly working with latest official AEX Pie, currently the only issue is Android Auto.
I tried your idea with system app, and unforunatelly its not working.
What I've found out is that android auto works with nougat custom roms. this is a small workaround for me because I need Android Auto for car navigation very often.
Does anybody know if a fix for the problem is still in work? Or is AA not significatn enough and there might be no fix in the future?
Any news on this?
Works perfectly on Nougat, but anything newer I tried some time ago never worked. It's an absolutely critical feature, and I have no idea why more people aren't taking about it.
Do you know if it still doesn't work?

Hi,
I have a 2018 Ford Fiesta, Ford Sync 3 (fully up to date) and Android Auto 3.9.585064-release version on my OnePlus 6. When I get an incoming call and I accept I can hear nothing and neither can the caller, but when I make a call it works perfectly. In the past it worked with no issues but is pretty frustrating at the moment. I'm not sure if it started with this version of Android Auto or a previous one. Any suggestions how I can solve the problem? Thanks.

Try to go back to previous version of Android Auto. You can download apk from apk mirror site (just google it). It will give you an answer if it is an issue of updated version. Clear cache of the app and data before reinstall previous version (just to be sure it is not a problem).
Regards.

Thanks, I've tried the previous version and I'm having the same issue. I'll try rolling back to a still earlier version and see how it goes.
Since I got this phone I've been disappointed by the camera quality, doing some research the logical step is to install better camera software. That's how I stumbled into the Google Camera app ported for other phones. Unfortunately this device runs a 32 bits architecture and the newer versions of gcam run on 64 bits, which makes it difficult for us to get the app.
Looking for a working apk I managed to find a old 32 bits version of gcam (based on version 4.2 to be exact) it was meant to run on the Moto G5/5s/Plus I got it installed but after opening the app it immediately crash, sometimes the camera preview is shown but it still crashed. I don't remember the link from where I got the apk, but if someone what's to try it out I can reupload it.
So if you have found an Gcam apk that work on the Moto G7 Play, share it here :fingers-crossed:
(I also tried some apks that are supposed to work on the other G7s but none of them worked)
Update: I found the apk link I mentioned above https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75483974&postcount=44

I downloaded the Camera2 API Probe app and it said it has level3 Support but I'm no expert either so I don't know if you need to have full support for the gcam to even work
I cant help installing gcam but if you want a better camera app than the stock one, I suggest "snap camera hdr" from play store.
The Google Camera app should work fine on the Moto G7 Play once a stable root solution has been worked out. Then, the needed framework can be modified within the /system directory to make GCam fully functional and stable. I am speculating a bit, but basing this assumption on the fact that I have GCam running smoothly on my Moto G6 and Moto E5 Play, both with root implementations.
Found a Gcam mod that works!
Hey, I think I have good and bad news. So, there's a BSG mod that works fine in my g7 play. I did everything as normal: rooted with magisk, installed camera 2 api module, enabled Hal3 in BuildProp and tried several apks and mods from different versions and this one works. The bad news are that it's a mod from the gcam of the first pixel which is 32 bits, so I guess we won't have the stuff from new apps which are 64 bits, but this mod seems to have most functionalities ok. I'm still testing it though. And it doesn't crash \o/
Since I'm a new user, I can't post links, so:
- After rooting, getting camera 2 api in magisk and sound the Hal3 prop thing, uninstall every gcam you installed (for instance, uninstall this one that is crashing, cause BSG will be recognized as an update for it. I had a Gcam that was crashing and couldn't install the BSG untill I uninstalled the one I had)
- There's a video in Spanish called "Cómo instalar lá cámara de google em dispositivos de 32 bits" from a channel called DnewTech. There's a link to mediafire in the description with the apk that worked for me.

PS: it seems this mode is for some Nexus phones, but it works, so... I guess it's okay...?
Is rooting required for Gcam on the Moto G7? My days of rooting are over (I hope).
I actually didn't try it without rooting, sorry!
But since this mod comes from the oldest versions it may be possible, but now I'm just speculating. So O suggest trying it out. :fingers-crossed:
But at the very least, there's a functional version for us
So, there is not change to use Night Sigh on this device??
Isn't Moto G7 Play 64 bits?
Unfortunately, it's actually 32bits. Armv7 architecture
This is weird since the manufacturer's states it as a 64 bits processor.

Yeah, but the OS is 32 bits. There are some armbinder64 OS working on moto g7 play, but with some problems in notch, touch screen, some buttons and other stuff.
