Long story short, on ICS, the video recording suffered from focusing problems, i,e, never being able to keep focus, which made the videos unwatchable. Upgraded to JB, problem still occurs, tried different JB roms, still there.
Anyone know how to fix this?

The T has continuous auto focus in video recording, so unless you jitter or move the camera, it should not loose focus and even if it does, it should refocus in a matter of seconds. If you can't get into focus at all, try cleaning your camera properly, maybe there is something hindering the sensor.
hi there, its when I move the camera records jittery
Hello,
I have a huge problem with my camera while recording a video.
The focus isn't working correctly, it just shakes really fast.
I didn't noticed it, because I rarely record movies, but today I've found this problem.
Here is an example:

Does anyone else have this problem?
Can this be fixed or is it a problem with my camera?
Thanks

Have you tried an hard reset?
However seems an hardware issue...
I noticed that my Oneplus 3T camera is very slow at taking picture from Whatsapp. The camera doesn't capture instantly after I press shutter button. There is a noticeable delay after I hear the shutter sound, sometimes up to 2 or 3 seconds! I have tried same Whatsapp version on different phones and they seem to capture instantly after I hear the shutter sound.
However if I am taking picture using camera app there is no delay at all. I am experiencing this problem since the first time I am using this phone.
I am using OxygenOS, rooted, stock kernel/franco kernel (doesn't matter, happens on both kernel).
Is there anyone having this problem? Or is this a known Oxygen OS bug?

I have the same issue with an unrooted stock phone as well!
Same here with my config
So I've updated to OOS 4.1.6 few days ago, still not getting better.
Hi Guys
Updated my Moto G5S Plus to Oreo 8.1 a few days ago using the commands on XDA. All is working great however I have an issues with WhatsApp, isolated with its Camera.
When I try to do Video on the Rear camera for video it seems to "zoom" in and I cannot zoom out. Its like jumping to max zoom and getting stuck.
With the front camera it seems to be VERY dark, the preview I see when recording video looks good, however when it plays back before sending its almost 100% dark, as if the light was never on?
Ive tried disabling the default camera, reinstall whatsapp all the usual stuff. I would assume if this was a widespread issue with the Whatsapp or Oreo update there would be more threads on it however I cant find anything.
Anyone else had this issue?

i have this problem too
The problem I have is that messages do not arrive unless I enter the application. The camera thing happened to me only in a couple of occasions where I recorded and it seemed that I had zoomed but it happened to me in the camera application not in wasap.
Hi everyone! From one day to another, my Mi A2 (stock Android 10 updated 'till April)phone started making a crackling/popping sound only when recording something, like on whatsapp, on telegram or from the stock camera app.
Issue doesn't arise when on calls or using another camera app like Open Camera, that's why I think it is just a software issue.

I've been googling for days now, but couldn't find any fix for this.
Did anyone had the same problem? Do you have any idea of what should be done to fix this?
Thanks in advance to everyone!
