Show random unique number - Tasker Tips & Tricks

Hi there, this is my first post. I hope got an answer here.
I want to do a repeated task to show random number with a specific range. But the displayed number can't be the same (must be unique).
For example, I want to display number between 1 to 5 to the screen with Flash Alert. The first displayed number could be 4, then 1, 3, 5, then finally 2. The displayed number cannot be the same number that have been displayed before. I've tried to use Variable Randomize, but Variable Randomize display repeated same number.
How can I do that in Tasker? Is it possible? Please help me.

[Q] Disable number auto-detection (and underlining) in SMS

Hi,
is there any way how to disable auto-detection of numbers in SMS's text, making them inactive and non-underlined? This feature is quite wild and inaccurate e.g. I received a message with date and time like "16.05.10 12:45" and "16.05.2010 12" got underlined and behaves like a phone number 16051012 Or even short numbers of 5 digits gets underlined.
Is it possible to disable it?
Thanks for any advice

[Q] Problem with phone numbers and contacts

Coming from TW and AOSP-Based ROMs on phones past I've never once encountered this issue. The short of it is as follows: some numbers in my inbox or call log wont link to their entries in my address book because the full number format doesn't match or something. It's a bit annoying because I'll send a message to someone using their 7 digit number, and when the message comes back it starts a separate thread with their contact entry as the number. Again, this never happened in other roms as 7 digit numbers could identify the contact if it was saved under either the 10 digit or the +11 digit number. Is there any possible way to change that behavior or should I just learn to use my address book to send messages? Thanks in advance

Samsung SM-N9208 Dual Sim [TW]

I have Nite 5 SM-N9208 Dual Sim and all my contacts from google account
Whenever I receive an incoming call, half the time the the caller ID doesn't work and only numbers are shown.
plz some one can help me to fix it
I had this issue with my dual SIM note 4.
I don't know the reason for the inconsistency but I suspect it's the carrier's settings on different cell towers (might be wrong)...anyway, you just have to save the number in the different formats under the same contact.
e.g. john doe -
1) 555-5555
2) (3 digit country code)-555-5555
3) +1-(3 digit country code)-555-5555
Strange that dual SIMs aren't 'intelligent' enough to recognize that they are all the same phone number.
This problem seems to be as old as Android itself.
A little searching and it looks like the problem lies in the number matching required in the different ROM's
Contacts are stored within Contacts Provider. One of the attribute for contact is a "min_match"
attribute which stores a part of the whole number (from right to left) that has to be used when matching Caller ID to
contact. The length of the min_match attribute is defined in the telephony framework.
It is good practice to keep the MIN_MATCH length to max 7 (typically it takes 6 numbers from the right
+ 1 number from local prefix - for our example above min_match would be: 2xxxyyy
However, some official ROMs have the MIN_MATCH constant too high making it impossible to match
numbers stored in local format to full caller ID received from operator. (It was 11 in my case!!!)
(+421 902 xxx yyy != 0902 xxx yyy)
Click to collapse
Most of the solutions require root which i don't have right now, leaving the only solution to have 2 phone No entries for each of my contacts.
Hoping someone can come up with something a little more slick!

Send automatic SMS but different text body

Hi,
i am tyring to set a task in tasker to send an SMS to a specific number. this sms is used to pay my parking tickets. the thing is i will be adding this task to a scene or to zooper later, and the text i want to send changes from time to time.
the body of the message is "plate number, categoy, number of hours".
i have 2 plate numbers (mine & wife), there are 2 categories (prime & standard) and number of hours is capped at 8 hours
so it would look like "111AE S 8" or "452RT P 2"
is there a way i can make tasker ask me if i want to send sms for prime or standard location and how many hours?
my initial thinking was to have a scene in tasker that shows me 3 drop down menus for the 3 items (plate, cat. & hours) and then the send button that combines all 3 drop downs. is this possible? or any other way?
thanks
Set a variable, %whichtopay and then always pay %whichtopay but set %whichtopay to whatever u want.
Put a widget, that pops up a list, and when you tap the list, it sets the %whichtopay variable to whatever you clicked then disables itself.
Yah we good bruh

Issues when dialing with keypad.

Hi.
I have just moved from a Huawei P9 Lite to the Nokia Pureview 9 and when I am dialing a number on the keypad, the Pureview has a very annoying behavior.
The phone has a list of recent calls and also the contacts list.
If I have dialed a number some hours ago, it is no longer at the top of the recent calls list. So I start to type the number on the keypad. However the pureview only searches through the contacts list for similar numbers, and not both the contact list and the recent calls list. That really sucks, since I then have to enter the entire number manually, instead of just the first 2 or 3, and then pick it from the list of suggestions.
Is there any way to make the Pureview 9 include the recent calls list in the search for similar numbers, when starting to enter a number on the keypad?
I have not installed any dialers. I am just using the one that was on the phone when I got it.
On the P9 Lite it was a breeze to just enter the first 2-3 numbers, and then pick the number on the list that came up with numbers containing those numbers.
In my opinion this is a big step backwards.
And no, I don't want to add everyone to my contacts, since many of the people, are ones that I will not be calling again after a job is done.
Thanks in advance.
