Whichever you prefer.
There is never a "best ROM". It always depends on what the user is looking for.

LOS/RR have final builds on 7.1.2, I've been using akhilnarang's official RR for about half a year now, never had any issues with it.

How is camera in RR build
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

I also struggled quite a bit because of the battery life with almost every ROM that I tried until I stumbled on the sultanized RR from Droidfreak32. It's as good as every other LOS based Rom but with the exception of amazing battery life. With that ROM I can push 5 1/2 to 6 h of SOT without any issues. I have to mention that I use opengapps nano with the latest magisk and xposed with amplify + naptime.
Good luck !

Idk, I don't really like that, I use OOS camera port , never had any issues, picture and video quality are as good as on OOS.

Phones don't really work without having a kernel flashed.
I use whatever comes packed with RR, had no issues, always got 4+ hours of SOT.

Thanks I will switch to RR now

Hi Guys,
after much thought I have decided to discontinue this rom following are the main reasons, I do not have a S3 with me anymore, to continue developing and test mods I need a S3.
It was nice having everyone and thanks for the comments and feedback, it was always a pleasure developing for you guys.
If you want something similar to my rom, I strongly suggest you to try WanamLite I use this rom as my base so this is as close to my rom as it gets.

great rom
I was running your leaked 4.1 rom for S2 for ages, was so smooth and such great battery life. Jumped at the opportunity to try your s3 rom. So far its good, it's very responsive and not really laggy like some cut down roms are. Memory usage is great. Still testing battery life but so far seems normal. Love the theme, the one thing I would like is the narrower options in the settings screen (AOSP vs sammy settings).
One question = I got a missed call and this cool pop up appeared at the bottom of the screen with a few call back related options...what is this? Is this stock? I really love it, it's really handy!

Sorry for not updating this for some time guys.
Life was hectic
XXEMG4 will be up in a couple of days.
And I promise I will keep S3 supported till Samsung stops updating it.

What rom do you use, and why?

So, what rom do guys and girls use on our beloved 4x, and why do you use it? Also mention what kernel you use, and why

Cm (02/07) + Optimus Prime V1.9. I use cm because it's (IMO) the best way to enjoy the android experience. Also because all the mods are compatible with cm.
The reason i use this kernel is because of the performance/battery life.
Cheers
Stock v20a Euro with stock kernel I deleted some applications that come preinstaled and now everything is fine.Using stock because i like LG UI 3 and because i didnt yet installed CWM If anuyone can recomend guild how to instal CWM (best version for our phone) please do so
P.S. mine 20a Euro is unlocked and rooted.
Zaiben ROM and eternity project kernel, best performance and battery life, first time that I don't need to lower the graphics of real racing 3 to ir run lag free, also first time that I run butterly smooth mc4 and 10 hours sleeping with only 8% drop

@Jonte Thank you for quick explanation I already did unlock bootloader on my lg so now just CWM to go
The Last zaiben with stock jb kernel. With cyanogen and/or other kernel my phone gets so hot . Also i get a good deep sleep with this combo.

well, I used to enjoy playing some Tegra games on it, but I just hope there's something to smoothen the performance and enhance the battery life as it is now still very disappointing.
I'm currently running V20A rooted still with locked bootloader ( I believe ). I have frozen several LG apps (if not all), and the battery life is still disappointing.
IceColdLG-P880_IceColdJelly_3.6_Final_HOX[PORT]by_SnXo. Very fast, stable, long batery life.I thing is the best rom so far.

Umm? So you play 38 hours with screen off? Including 30 hours without battery? Wow -- would you mind sharing that trick?
This is a really useful thread indeed, as one can not only learn which ROMs are available but also how stable/battery-saving etc. they are. What I'm still missing are the links to the ROMs sources. Would be great if you could include them! Thanks

How is 4.3 now?

Not been looking on these forums for a while now.
How is 4.3 now? Last time I tried it it had the notification bug where sound and vibration were delayed from each other.
Is this now fixed? Is it pretty stable yet?
Thanks

[ROM]Maximum OvrDriVE S7 Edge Port V3.4

With the official permission of OvrDriVE.
Based on my personal experience this is the best MM s7 Edge port for Verizon Note 4.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/s7-portn910t-n910w8-t3375956
Everything works even always on display no issues at all . The only thing you would wanna do just install different messanger for mms to work thats it. It only takes less than 30 seconds to have stable signal and data after reboot .
Steps to install the rom.
1. You need to wipe your phone completely or you going to have different issues .
2. Download rom and update
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24549084345925638 (base rom v3.1)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24549084345926812 (v 3.4 update)
3. Download H vitamin kernel f version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/kernel-h-vitamin-t3364213
4. Download SuperSU
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
Thats all you gonna need.
Installation process.
1. Instal base rom v 3.1 then H vitamin kernel and wipe cache/dalvik reboot you phone and go through set up .
(don't sign in into samsung or google account)
2. Reboot into recovery and install v3.4 update then H vitamin kernel and wipe cache/dalvik and reboot.
3. Set up your phone then reboot again and install SuperSu from the link above.
4. Thats it everything should be working fine and you dont even need data fix.
Me or OvrDrive are not responsible for any damage done to your phone. Any questions or issues you guys have ask me because overdrive doesn't own Verizon device . Ok guys I was trying to replicate the Sim issue and was successful install the data fix and then go to access point names and choose verizon then change mode to lte CDMA reboot change mode to lte CDMA and dial #832 View attachment Louforgiveno's_N910V_DataFix_For_Dr.Ketan's_MM_3_1_-1.zip all credits to Louforgiveno. There's also a new version for the rom 3.5 on the main thread . IMPORTANT: in order to avoid 4g issues do not activate your phone during setup wizard or you will have to flash data fix and do some extra work. THERE IS ALSO A POSSIBILITY OF KILLING YOUR SIM CARD COMPLETELY DON'T DIAL 228.
Nice to see this here! This is my favorite s7edge port! I've been running it for a few days now, and even though there have been other roms to flash and try, I always come back to MaxOD.

Nope I haven't tried, that's good that there is a workaround. If vitamin is more stable you should try using a dimmer app because from what I noticed only the toast notifications and if you long-press an icon on the home screen it comes out bright. I think it's manageable in my opinion but I'm tempted to lock my device up to BPA bootloader then convert but I'm scared lol

Rom or not?

So I've been running pure nexus for the majority of the time I've had my shamu, and so far for me at least, the only noticeable difference I've seen is the using the volume rocker to change the music track. And CMTE, but that's gone now, so I'm thinking of going to stock and just rooting? And maybe using xposed, so what's your opinion, am I better off staying on PN, or should I move to stock and root? I've never had a great experience of xposed on other devices, should I give it a go on my shamu? Thanks guys!

It is a personal choice Rom/Not.
I don't like the monthly updates.
Now I am using a prerooted. stock rom of Danvdh.
With TWRP I flash the latest rom, after wiping the system and caches, in a few minutes I am up to date.
You could give it a try.

Try Dirty Unicorns. Has the 2 options you mentioned and is overall stable and up to date.
no one really cares what you use, sorry about the flat out honesty. but its alwaya your choice, all depending on your wants and needs. so, just make a decision and choose.
All the stuff in PN settings is not in the stock ROM.
