Can't boot - BLU R1 HD Questions & Answers

Ok, so I go to install resurrection remix, installs just fine. /System/priv-app has apps listed, but I cannot boot into the rom... Don't think that this is a Rom problem. Running Vamps 3.0.3-0 TWRP, unlocked bootloader.

Boot failure when installing ElementalX 4.20 with latest Pure Nexus and Magisk

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I clean install Purenexus 7.1.2 (latest) with the recommended gapps, let it boot and get setup. Then I install Magisk and let it fully reboot. Then I try installing the ElementalX 4.20 kernal and it won't finish booting after that. Help! I did it twice now and got the same result.

Hello,
Maybe try this way:
Install ROM and reboot to system
Reboot twrp, Install kernel first and magisk.
Reboot.
Good luck...
That seems to be working. Thanks!

Hey,
You're welcome.
As both Magisk and EXKernel alter boot.img, I guess EX needs to be installed first. If you install after Magisk, it brakes a part of Magisk modifications. Hence the bootloop. But it's just an assumption.
Cheers...
Mmmh,
I did a clean flash with ROM (purenexus_shamu-7.1.2-20170423-OFFICIAL), GApps (BeansGapps-Mini-7.1.x-20170415) - reboot and start new system.
Than I fashed Magisk-v12.0 for root and installed Magisk-Manager.
After that I flashed ElementalX-N6-4.20 (and today ElementalX-N6-4.21).
Everything runs without any issue!
Yeah I was kinda wondering what happens when I try to install a kernel update since that would be like what I was doing before.

Lost root access and TWRP recovery.

Dear team,

Install twrp the same way you installed it in the first place. Using spft.
Flash magisk or SuperSU for root afterwards from recovery

Error 1 after reflashing ROM, can't (un)install Magisk

Hello, so I decided to reflash my ROM because I kept running into issues, and I didn't uninstall Magisk before doing so.
Then when I tried flashing Magisk it showed me error 1. Flashing the uninstaller gives the same error. Magisk Manager shows that it is not installed, Root Checker states that the device is unrooted, and so far the only app that mentioned my phone being rooted is LastPass.
What can I possibly do to reinstall Magisk so it's back on my device in its full grace?
I checked other posts and either they are not related to my problem or didn't help
Phone: Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon, Recovery: official TWRP non-treble, ROM: latest build of official AOSP Extended
Maybe try dirty flashing and flashing Magisk again?
Not Sally when Magisk is already installed, I can flash it again with no problem. Weird that you're having these issues. ?

Did you wipe everything? Wipe system and data before re flashing your rom.
@LennyTheCat To be absolutely sure what's going on you're going to have to provide the recovery log, saved after you've attempted you flash Magisk.

Try updating your TWRP. That has solved "cannot mount vendor" for other Mido users.

well, it has installed no problem, but then my phone got stuck in a bootloop after rebooting. I have to reflash everything now, will tell if it worked later
@Didgeridoohan when I install Magisk, the phone keeps running into bootloops. Clean install of the ROM and Gapps seems to work fine. Tried 16.0 and 16.4 packages

Well... You're using a Treble ROM, right? So I'm assuming you're using a Treble modified Magisk version (since there's no official Treble support in Magisk yet)... If not, I'm sure you can find the relevant information in your ROM's thread.
Always go to the source...

ye i found that out after the fact. alls good.
I was able to install working twrp on mine. It is a patched version by "Jleeblanch". https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=294840
I downloaded and installed the zip through fastboot boot of 3.3.3-0 which works fine but even the Sept version of 3.3.3-1 hangs for more than 5 minutes. For the life of me I can't figure out how to flash the img of 3.3.3-0 directly to the phone.

Flashed Lineage os 17.1 with twrp and accidently missed checking the boot box ...

when i flashed the rom and now i no longer have access to root, twrp and on top of that.... gapps failed so i lost my google account on my phone. can anyone help me recover twrp, root, and successfully flash gapps. i have a great working os 17.1. no complaints there.

LineageOS 17.1 comes with a own recovery. Use the installer.zip provided on twrp.me to install TWRP. After that start TWRP and format /data. That's necessary to install the GApps. Otherwise you end in a bootloop.
Now flash GApps and Magisk and boot into system.
You can also temporarily boot into TWRP with "fastboot boot twrp.img" in fastboot. Then do backups etc. and reinstall the system.
