Hi All!!!
There is some user SGH-i957 that can solve my doubts?
Is the SGH-i957 AT&T sim-locked???
Is the SGH-i957 AT&T S.O. Honeycomb 3.2???
Italian is the language from those available in the system settings??
Is the SGH-i957 interface smooth and fast as SGT 10.1 or XOOM???
Has anyone tried to play 720p H.264 High Profile Videos??? Are smooth or jerky??? (in the SGT 10.1 & 8.9 with tegra 2 only 720p H.264 Basic Profiles ar playable without stuttering !!)
Has anyone tried to play 1080p H.264 Videos??? is it possible???
I would like to buy a SGH-i957 AT&T (used) because I'm interested to replace my SGT 10.1 (bought in Italy) because the Tegra 2 is really bad with H.264 720p video. Instead, I'm not interested in the LTE (only 3G HSPA in Italy for now).
Thanks in advance to those who want to answer!!!
P.S. Sorry for my "googled" english

As far as I know, AT&T uses different 3G frequencies then we use here in Europe, so the 3G won't work either.

Yes but it can be unlocked online. I used cellunlocker.net.
Is the SGH-i957 AT&T S.O. Honeycomb 3.2???
Yes, 3.2, but will probably be one of the last Samsung tablets to receive 4.0
Italian is the language from those available in the system settings??
Sì, di lingua italiana è un'opzione.

It is faster than the 10.1 and Xoom, superior CPU and GPU

Yes, it plays high profile just fine. Once again, superior CPU and GPU.
Has anyone tried to play 1080p H.264 Videos??? is it possible???
Have not tried that yet.

In the AT&T web page, the specs about SGH-i957 AT&T say:
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
HSPA+/HSPA: 850/1900/2100 MHz
while in the SAMSUNG italian web page, the specs about SGT 8.9 P7300 say:
GSM&EDGE Band 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Band 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
The 3G frequencies are the same... right???

Right. It will work just fine on European GSM/UMTS/HSPA networks. Also, if you want to wait a few days, I think you will find that it is launching in several European countries very soon, starting with Norway.
Here where I live we have:
HSPA in cities 2100mhz
HSPA outside cities 900mhz (because it has larger range then the higher frequency)
3G 1800mhz
I believe it is the same for most European countries. I personally would not buy a device that doesn't support HSPA on 900mhz.
In Italian:
Ciao Croak, noi italiani siamo dovunque!!

I can say for sure that 1080p mkvs play great.
I have watched some 15+ gb 1080p mkv movies from my file server over wifi on the local LAN using bsplayer.

Ok i checked (wikipedia and other italian web site):
In Italy 3G use 2100MHz (1920 - 1980MHz Uplink and 2110 - 2170MHz Downlink)
In Estonia 3G use 900/2100MHz

UMTS yes, but we don't have 900mhz UMTS here. We have UMTS at 1800mhz. HSPA at 900mhz and 2100mhz.

UMTS/HSPA are interchangeable for the purposes of radios.
TLDR
THE AT&T TAB 8.9 LTE WILL WORK ON ALL EUROPEAN GSM/HSPA/UMTS DATA FREQUENCIES
Clear enough?
Thanks poisike for the questions you raised about the UMTS frequencies, I had not thought

I don't want to argue with you but i'm afraid it is not true. I personally have used a device with the same radio specs as the AT&T Tab 8.9 and it doesn't give me HSPA internet connection outside cities where we use 900mhz for HSPA.
If the specs are true there > http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_8_9_lte-4125.php then i'm sure this device would not give me HSPA connection outside cities (at least here in Estonia).

Samsung Galaxy Tab SGH-I957 ATT no 3G
Hi there, I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab SGH-I957 from ebay.I'm currently a ATT Customer and I have a 3g sim card with unlimited data plan.I already tried 26 times to get internet via 3g sim card but it won't work. I have also did the root process.Somebody said I need to unlock it but that makes no sense since I have a ATT sim card. Any advice will be highly appreciated.

AT&T Bloat Ware Delete
I made a list of all all the apps that I would consider bloat ware. One thing I noticed is that when I deleted "AT&T Communication Manager" I get constant FCs.
Why would this be? Is there a way to delete it without FCs or should it just be freezed?
Anyway here is the list:
AT&T Communication Manager (This may not be able to be deleted)
AT&T Code Scanner
AT&T Family Map
AT&T Navigator
Social Hub
My AT&T
Media Hub
Pulse
Qik
Yellow Pages
Zinio
Also these may be considered useless in my opinion:

Hello!
I'm a new owner of the Mi 9 lite. I'm loving the phone but I can't get it to connect to 4G+ (LTE-A).
My previous phone connects instantly to 4G+ and I get speeds of about 40-50 mbit/s. But my precious Mi 9 lite only connects to normal 4G with 12-18mbit.
Location is Sweden and phone bought in Sweden. Global version.
I've checked phone status and the physical LTE band configuration is just {}.
Any ideas? Do you guys have 4G+ on your Mi 9 Lite?
I've got 4G+ on my Mi 9 Lite. I live in Australia and I'm on Telstra which is our nation's primary telecom. Do you know if your provider supports 4G+. I know that some MVNOs in my country do not support the standard.

Yes, as you see in my post I got 4G+ at home if I put the SIM in my old phone.
Today I visited Finland and I got 4G+ there, so I suspect it's some settings on my home provider that I need to fix.

So, after my trip to Finland (where I got 4G+) I now have 4G+ also at home. So it has fixed itself somehow. I don't care why, I'm just happy it has jumped up to 4G+ also at home
Problem solved.
Will Xiaomi Mi 11 work in USA?
In this page we are going to show you the compatibility of Xiaomi Mi 11 with the mobile networks of USA and with the telephony operators that provide service in USA.
www.kimovil.com
You can always use this website to check this (this is where I was able to confirm it's working fine in Europe ): https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/xiaomi-mi-11
Yeah, that's the link I posted. It shows the CN version doesn't support any US 5g band.

CN MI 11 supports NR band n1, n3, n28a, n41, n77, n78, n79.
All those bands are usually implemented in Asian countries.
n1 and n3 need OTA update after Chinese carriers have implemented those bands.
n28a is kinda narrow, ranging from 703MHz to 733MHz.
That's it. No fancy mmWave bands are supported.

Does flashing a new ROM modify the supported bands or is the CN phone missing required hardware to support NA bands?

Flashing a new ROM is unlikely to modify the supported bands. I assume that in order to modify it, you need to figure out how to flash the baseband...
As for mmWave bands support, MI 11 doesn't have mmWave antennas so don't expect that to happen.
Hey guys. Just to let you in on my experience with 5G, although I live in Europe, România.
Had the CN Mi 11 until yesterday. I use 2 sim cards, one from Digi, one from Orange. Digi worked fine in 5g. Although, by specs, the CN fully supports all the 5g bands needed (mostly referring to N1 for orange), I never got 5g on orange. And we have full city coverage. 4G+ also doesn't work.
Got the global version yesterday, same bands on paper, and what do you know. Immediately 5G, 4G+, everything working fine.
One more thing about the CN version. I used it both CN original rom and with Xiaomi.eu rom.
On the CN rom, the 5G icon used to appear where there was 5G coverage, but the connection itself was 4G. In the first week I didn't even have 5G activated on my sim, and it was still showing 5G. Some weird trick to induce people in error?
On a local forum, everyone has the same issue, CN version won't work on 5G, global yes. Same bands, I guess different modem settings. Someone flashed the global rom on it, but still same result.
So to put it short, in România, with orange operator, CN version doesn't do 5G, not even 4G+, global works fine.

Sounds weird. According to Kimovil both Digi and Orange in Romania work on the same 5g bands. But not N1, N78. And you claim that CN M11 works on Digi 5g and not on Orange 5g? Did you check with Orange what's wrong?
Unfortunately, I don't have 5g here to check myself. But 4g+ works fine.
Does someone else has CN MI11 and can't get 5g?
Sorry, maybe I confused N1 with N78. Makes no difference. Yes, one network (Digi) worked, Orange not. And as I said, not just for me, for others with CN version of the phone as well. Not much to check with Orange since the global phone, which they also sell, works fine.
Another thing that bothered me and made me sell it and get the global version, was the feedback that the CN Mi 11 didn't get 5G on orange even with the global rom, which should change the modem files as well.

Although they are under the same N78 band, It should be noted that NR-ARFCN(the number chain that corresponds to a specific frequency) range may actually be different on different versions of the same hardware. That's why Galaxy S10 5G sold in South Korea doesn't work on 5G networks of China Unicom and China Telecom even though the phone supports N78 band that is implemented by those two carriers. I assume that's the same reason that you don't get 5G on some carriers even though they use the NR band that the phone supports.
All above is my personal thoughts, the truth may differ from that.

Hola, chicos.

Hello friend, if you are a root user, you should connect to pdc and see what profile the global version is using, I'm sure it uses a different one than CN if you manually change That in theory should solve the problem, it is something similar to what happens with oneplus, vivo and iqoo

That is not case - there is Carrier Policy what enables 5G-support specific Carrier. This is common almost every device sold. To make sure device work in home device, don't buy another market device.
I have made cacombos.com website to list supported combinations. It help you to check device support all EN_DC combinations used by your network.
