No incoming call notifications. - Asus ZenWatch 3

Hi Everyone:
I just got a used Zenwatch 3 on ebay. Although, other notifications come through, I am not getting the usual notifications when a call comes in. The watch does vibrate, but I am use to (I have used an LG G and a Wear24) getting an indication of who is calling and giving me an option not to answer. Does anyone have any suggestions. Some details: The first thing I did when I received was watch was to unlock the bootloader and flashed janjan's ROM. Could that be a problem?
Thanks for the help!

I fixed it on my own. I needed to unpair/pair (re-pair does not work :laugh the watch and the phone. I used https://www.xda-developers.com/pair-android-wear-without-factory-reset/ and so did not have to do a factory reset on my watch. Way cool and groovy!

[Q] Notification Vibration Stopped Working?

I'm no longer getting vibrations on my wrist with my Gear Live. I haven't touched anything, but they just stopped. The motor does work however, I've tested it using the Phone Finder app. I've tried resetting the device, restarting the device, and making sure that it's not on mute. I can't seem to find settings for this anywhere; could someone help me out?
Edit: I love how as soon as I post this, vibration starts working again..
Could it be that certain apps aren't getting the thing to vibrate, but others are? Anyone else getting vibration notifications with Textra?
I swear vibration didn't work every time. It's so faint though that even when it does, I don't notice it

Watch not vibrating for text messages
I noticed my Gear Live wasn't vibrating for text messages. It seemed random whether or not it vibrated for text messages. It vibrated normally for all other notifications. I have now discovered (and I believe and hope it's a software issue) that my watch will vibrate every time for incoming texts if and only if my phone is set to silent or ring mode. If the phone is set to vibrate, my watch will not vibrate for incoming texts. My Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 on the Verizon network running Android 4.4.2. I have tried rebooting, powering down andback on, and even a factory reset all resulting in no change of behavior. Is this similar to what you were experiencing? Anyone else experiencing this?
Text message vibration not working
I also noticed I'm not getting a vibration for text messages. Not sure why, I've had the watch for a week now and this just started a day or so ago. I've also restarted and reset to factory settings with no luck. If anyone knows of the issue, please post. Thanks!

Not sure if it's a permanent fix or not, but I actually shut my phone down completely (Samsung GS4) and turned it back on. I did a couple test text messages and the watch is picking up the messages and vibrating again. Again, this could just be a band-aid but it did seem to work.

Dismissing a missed call and a phantom watch alarm

Greetings all.
I have two small issues and was curious if anyone else experienced them.
1) Every once in a while, I will have a missed call notification card on the watch and can't swipe it away (to the right). I can expand it up but basically can't get rid of it. A restart of the watch seems to do the trick. I've tried clearing the phone call history but that doesn't seem to help.
2) Secondly, Every once in a while I get a phantom alarm on the watch. I think it's a (watch) alarm I set a few weeks back via a voice "wake me up at 10:00am" command. Are these kept in a different spot that the normal phone alarms?
I'm almost thinking of doing a wipe of the watch and re-syncing my apps just to freshen up everything.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Scott
I found the old alarm...I just wasn't looking in the right spot.
However, I still get that missed call card problem from time to time. Even swiping left and going to close "close card" doesn't work. Anyone else get this?

LG Watch Urbane doesn't stop vibrating when incoming call is answered by phone

Hi.
Two weeks ago I got my LG Watch Urbane. I use it with my (unrooted) Sony Xperia Z3 (Android 5.1.1). Almost everything works fine.
However, I have a problem with incoming phone calls. The LG Watch urbane needs 2-3 seconds after my phone indicated the incoming call. If I accept the call on the phone (not via the watch), the watch keeps vibrating for a long time. Sometimes, when I have a short call, the watch vibrates even though I already hung up.
This issue occurs not only when the phone is locked and the stamina mode is running (Android Wear is in the exception list), but also when the screen is unlocked and the phone is "active".
Android Wear and Smartwatch are updated to the latest version. Reboot and reconnect doesn't have any positive effect.
Can anybody help me please?
Thank you!
Maik
Edit:
Sometimes the watch stops vibrating immediately when I answer the call during while working with the phone (=unlocked). Unfortunately not always...

Unfortunately I can't help but I can confirm that it's not just your watch. I've had my Urbane for a while but it just started doing the same thing you've described within the past couple of weeks. It's very annoying and I never had this problem before.
Thanks for your reply.
Did you find a solution for this issue meanwhile?
It is really annoying... :crying:

Anyone has Notification vibration problem?

I'm using Galaxy S6 Active in Korea
Of course, i unlocked, and updated to 5.1.1
(i used 5.0 just few days, i can't remember how long did it maintain)
Now my phone seems to treat the vibrate profile as silent.
text message vibrations is Okay(i'm using google messenger, not basic sms app, not google hangout)
But, Call notification,FB,Gmail....and so on, all of feature which has vibration noti feature do not work now.
Actually i already did device reset once. at that time, i could get vibration notification.
but few days later, back to present state.
i googled, and i got some people who were experienced like me.
but they said various opinions about this problem such as battery saving mode, 5.1.1 updating...etc.
plus no oned replied "i fix it!"
I constantly use the vibrate profile and this is very problematic not having the phone actually vibrate because I am missing notifications a lot now.
Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know how to fix this?
plz give me your comment
I read, I think on Android central, that this occurs when power saving mode is on after updating to 5.1.1. This didn't happen on the previous software.

Ok Google -> Send Text-> Fails if my phone screen is not on

So, haven't had much time to play and learn yet, and this is my first smart watch. But I did try sending emails and text via the watch. If my screen is on, it works, if it is off it fails.
My phone is a Note 4, with an MM Rom. I'm wondering if Doze or something is the problem.
When I was setting up the app, it did go through an option to let the Zen software run in the background, and I allowed that.
Any thoughts?

I am not sure if I really understand your question.. are you talking about phone screen or watch screen?
Also for notifications like text you don't need to have Zenwatch app at all, its a core feature of AW. I am using it (& Moto 360 gen 1 before) with my S7 on MM and doze shouldn't cause any issue.
Ah, I just read the thread title, it gives more info
I would say factory reset your watch from the Android Wear app on the phone and try to pair again. I have done it a bunch of times with my Moto 360 but haven't tried with this one yet. It should work though, I'll try on mine and report back.

Well, I reset my watch. I still get the message "Try again on your phone" . But, I found that the email in fact did send. So not sure what's up with that. Will be interesting to see what you find.
Oh, another thing. I find quite a delay between my phone ringing and it ringing at the watch. I'll have to do some experimentation, but I'm not sure it will ring long enough for me to answer it at the watch. Not that I plan to do that much, but, anyway...seems like maybe the interaction time between the watch and phone is not very good.
Hey sorry for replying so late, but as expected, calls and texts work just as they should. Were you able to sort out issues on your end?
About the delay, I think there has always been a little delay for calls to show up on watch (at least that was the case with my moto 360), delay on this is the same. It does vary a little bit from time to time, sometimes it very little sometimes a bit longer but that's just wireless connectivity imo. But in no case its long enough that call would stop ringing and go to voicemail.

I need to do some testing with calls. I don't even know for sure how to answer at the watch.
I find that the watch gives me the error message, but does send the text.
I'm having real problems with my phone when hooked to the watch. I'm going to open a thread on that topic now.
I just got Android Wear 2.0 on my Zenwatch 3 and I'm sorry to say Assistant and gestures are lot worst now.
First of all, i'm italian, and Assistant poorly recognise italian lenguage.
I use to use smartwatch especially when i'm driving or when i'm on my work bike (i'm a pony express) so I need a device I can use touchless.
Wear 2.0 lost some gestures as the on to go ahead to funcion like "reply" or "delete" in messages (the ones used pushing down or pulling app your wirst) so now i must to touch the screen for everything.
About Assistant: i often use it to send Telegram messages just by telling Google Now (obviously in italian) "send Telegram message to SomeoneX" followed by the message instead.
Now, if i tell "Ok Google. Send a Message to (ex.) Mark" assistant shows me "to whom?"... anda I say "Mark"... "to whom?"... "MARK!"... "to Whom?"... IN A FU****G LOOP!
jUST i CAN'T USE MY SMARTWATCH WITHOUT MY HANDS ANYMORE!
