I've scanned the OP3T/OP3 Cross Development threads and OP3 threads, but don't see much activity. Is development dead for the OP3T?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
Far from it.
Look here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/info-list-oreo-roms-kernels-available-3-t3688139
Thats not even all of the 8.1 ROMs avaliable, there is AOSCP 5.1 (needs to be built again, building later will upload at some point if I am allowed, dunno yet), and Cosmic OS 3.1. Both of those are 8.1 ROMs. Dirty Unicorns is also another one not on that list you can build. Development for the 3 & 3T has never been better IMO. Latest security patches on a lot of these ROMs too. Amazing work from the developers.
If a device such as a Droid Bionic from 2011 is still getting ROMs to date with the latest security patches, and that device doesn't even have an unlocked bootloader, then I think the OP3/T is here to stay for awhile.
Dead? On the contrary. The "3T development" section may be quiet, but the "3 & 3T Cross Development" section is alive and well. We've had over 25 Oreo ROMs get released in less than 2 months of the Oreo AOSP Sources release.
The most probable long term future looks like we will be covered in ROMs that will last a lifetime.
LOL. You probably havn't read on the right places. It's a handful of different roms for you to choose from..

Just a simple question... How come that development hasn't really started for this device yet? Are there any future plans except for cm, which, as i have read, is already officially planned?

The device isn't that popular actually. Not a lot of people have it. So development will definitely be slow compare to other devices.
You will just need to be patient.

You have CM 11 and KK with sense 6. Plus cm is already official. We have a kennel with dt2w. And HTC will release L for our phone. What else do you want?
PS you can start developing for this device. It's never too late
Learning great news, cm11 is now officially supported, thumbs up!
Are there any unofficials out there to download, like actual cm, non based on it, and modified for a different rom.
I searched, and couldn't find any.
No there is no unofficial builds of CM12 compiled from source for the N6 just yet.
I've been working on bringing up a device tree for a week or two. I can get it to boot but the phone keeps force closing and it says no sim.

That's a shame. Hopefully CM has a full tree up soon, and starts pushing out some cool features, and nightlies.

Having a nexus 6 and now getting the OTA update as soon as release as previously expected.
we will see it in a couple of weeks.
Who needs the stock images when there are already custom roms on the market.
Much better flashable zip. No encryption and custom kernel

I am even on preview 1 bootloader and no problem at all. Runs super smooth and root is working. All my apps are fine. So take your time Google

Out of curiosity I see you list velocity nougat for nexus 6. I searched on XDA but couldn't find anything except for an HTC device. Mind if I ask where you got that rom? I'd like to scope it out, thank you in advance

Velocity is from the psx def. He is not on xda. Just building for himself and I am a tester since day one 4 years ago. It's only available on a German forum. N is not official, so I can't. But if you Google my name with velocity you will find.

Not really a wise option. The roms right now are hacked together with bits and parts from other stuff and without an updated kernel many things are causing issues and you dont get all the new under the hood improvments.

We have kernel source for DP5. And as of right now the AOSP r1 source hasn't changed much from DP5 to r1. Or thats what the elite guys have mentioned.

Yeah I have the source and alot is still missing compared to the DP5. I have spoken with most teams and they are all of the same mind. Until it is fixed they wont build for the n6. Some are even gonna wait until late September or October before even attempting to build it. We are all over Google groups complaining about it. Most think it has to do with Qualcom and the new Vulcan stuff that qualcomm is refusing to support on some chips.
We can only wait and see. I personally am not touching a single rom that is built at the moment. Not a fan of hack together roms.

Not with a device I rely on. My device is a tool not a toy lol.
Plus I make my own roms and only use roms made by a very few others. To be honest only 2 teams do I trust their roms to flash to my device. I know all too well the risks involved in flashing roms.
Nexus 5x is live Come On GOOGLE!!!
Velocity was a ROM by Trident in the LG Ally days, woah they bring me back. Back to Android 2.2.2!

Cherry is Honor 4/4X - https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Cherry_Info
I think the Honor 6 codename was hwH60 or something like that.
Please delete the links or the entire thread as soon as possible, if people will start flashing this then we will likely have a lot of bricked devices. Venipa, this is horrible irresponsibility on your side to upload links to unknown stuff without even testing it yourself (even if you put a disclaimer)! And to all the guys thinking that we will magically get working CM one day, think again. You found a semi-official build of CM for some Huawei device and seriously thought it's a H60 build we didn't hear about before? If there is ever a proper CM release, it will take time to do it. But people posting stuff like "I've already posted the Full Source including Kernel Source and still no one wants to do it" will never understand how hard it is to make a ROM, or what exactly "full sources" mean...

I'm not a developer so somebody else should be able to explain it better, but in general, the sources provided by Huawei are at most only useful enough to make a AOSP-style ROM based on the same Android version as the EMUI ROM the source is released for. So, no CM, no newer Androids than Marshmallow, etc.
nooo, got my hopes up (

Not true. Then why kirin based p8 lite has cm14?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/cyanogenmod-14-t3458451
Its because we dont have devs and our device isnt that popular.Kirins arent the most rom friendly cpus, but they arent totally useless.

Okay, this proves me wrong. And obviously, I completely ignored the fact that our device already had a CM port, so indeed with a dedicated developer we'd have a chance to get something. What I probably should've said is that a potential developer has a lot of work ahead because of poor sources quality from Huawei, and absolutely no chance to make an official CM port for example. Of course, this all is based on random stuff I read on XDA about it, so you guys should wait until someone more knowledgeable responds to have a clear picture on the problems the development for this device is facing.
Heartbreak.

The phone been released for 2 months now and yet not even an official TWRP recovery. not a single custom rom too.
i've been looking at Mi 8 forums and it has much better support. at least they have pixel experience rom
do you think it's still early for custom roms to be released or this device really has poor support?
Give it some time. Mi 8 and Mix 3 also took a while before the first ROM came.

i am sorry i didn't mean to be rude. i am just asking cause i've been waiting so long for a pixel rom and i was kinda concerned. the mi 9 would shine with it.
It took almost 7 months for custom roms to be usable on OnePlus 6
Just chill
I think sm8150 source code just got released not even a week ago, now developers get their first real look and can start working on builds. Really tho, unless the phone you are looking at already has strong developer support don't assume one without it will get it.

I think that depends on your individual set up. I use TMobile and have 2 sims, 1 for work and one for personal, granted I've only tried floko but I can't use them both with LTE selected, only manage to get edge working. When switching to LTE, I get constant disconnects every few seconds. Sms only seems to work properly with GSM as well. Might be a TMobile US issue, dual SIM issue or dual SIM on same network. Not real sure.
The Mi9 is out for months. Normal whene coming custom roms this comes in the first month. I think we will not see any custom rom now but Miui is also good with custom launcher. I missing nothing.
The device doesn't have "really poor support", the interest and capable people are and will be there. The problem is just the drop of sources. This was to be expected when you have one of the first devices with a new SD SoC. Threads like this really add to the increasing stupidness on XDA.
Sources are out for weeks.

Thanks for clarifying this for all of us "not so much into all technical details" people. I can understand your frustration, but I think for most people eagerly waiting for something else then MIUI, (who are not willing or knowing where to start with GSI Roms) its good to have one of these threads out there (maybe even pinned on top).
As you are stating it's only a matter of time, and that is good to know for all of us. It would also be great to have some DEVs that are planning on building for the MI 9 in such a thread to even built more confidence.
Just a word from another Dutchmen. Have a good weekend y'all! And try (just as I am about to) not to check XDA MI 9 forum every 6 hours every day. Just wait some weeks. Things are probably about to become very Pixely soon.
I've already dumped an obscene amount of time into this device, we have only had caf source for a couple days. It's a brand new soc no one is building working roms for it yet on any device. System as root has caused a lot of issues as well. Up to this point my work has been focused on the kernel and recovery and now I have lineage building with the new hals and the kernel updated to use them and ramoops working so I can actually debug init. It's not as easy as we make it look I'm already a couple hundred hours in and I work for free

You can use my kernel of course, pstore works with it so it's actually possible to debug init with some effort pressing both volume buttons and ai button sends a soft reset to recovery signal which is the only way to keep the ramoops info in memory. The problem is if you flash a dtbo then the boot.img may be incompatible. Recovery boot and dtbo all have to be matching unless there's a way to make recovery work off the existing kernel in /boot
I cant understand the Problem here. Just Look at phhusson the god of devs for GSIs. The Day He posted on xda that his New Main device is the mi9 was the Day my next device was also the mi9 (just arrived today). His aosp gsi is working on mi9 for weeks with just some realy small Bugs and i think it wont last long until He has fixed all Bugs. And from that Day on we will have every custom Rom thats available as a gsi with their next Update.

I dont like gsi. For flashing need a PC. Gsi is for me not a custom rom. I need a custom rom what i can flash with twrp, without pc.
