I've got my 3T's persist partition completely dead, no filesystem. make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p15 doesn't help. What to do?

fdisk with optimus 2x

Hello
I am trying to use fdisk to partition optimus' nand. I want to delete the last 2 partitions /dev/block/mmcblk0p9 and p8 and merge them into p8 but fdisk wont let me do it. It says "value is out of range" and gives me as default 511kb of space each logical partition by default.
If i delete all partitions till p5 and remake the extended partition everything can go ok but these include things i dont wont to touch
For your quick reference the o2x partitions.
/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 = system partition
/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 = cache partition
/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 = misc partition
/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 = unknown partition
/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 = boot partition
/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 = lgdrm partition
/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 = recovery partition
/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 = data partition
/dev/block/mmcblk0p9 = internal SD partition
How can Solve this? Any ideas?
Can someone please upload the contets Of p5 p6 p7?
P5 depends on your ROM
P6 attached
P7 you can get CWM from anywhere really
Thank you a lot rusty its very much aprisiated
Do you know anything about the original question?
No idea I'm afraid.
busybox fdisk -l /dev/block/mmcblk0
d
9
d
8
n
57537
976128
w
didn't worked btw
get notification that i got damaged sd so i removed the internal sdcard part from the vold
but still no big ass data partition xD
btw i don't know anything about fdisk i just gave it a shot
look at that... looks like our phone has 16gbs or wrong declare from fdisk?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17001387&postcount=12
edit: apparently it was a wrong declare from my brain
Apparently the SU660 has more internal storage than the P99x, so maybe it's got the same amount really, but the P99x is set up to ignore some of it?

the partition type is EMMC
Recovery is mmcblk0p1
Boot is mmcblk0p2
System is mmcblk0p3

Sweet more roms!
Edit:
Here is what I am using, but the format isnt working, I'm getting status 6 in cwm, So just removing that from updater script and doing a manual wipe of system before flash;
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3", "/system");
This is what I'm using because I pulled it straight from the OTA update updater-script file:
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/APP", "0", "/system");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/APP", "/system");
Yeah. I got status 6 when I tried using those commands as well. I'm not sure if it's something misconfigured with the CWM recovery or not.
Anyway, I was able to mount and unmount stuff with:
Code:
run_program("/sbin/mount","/system");
Code:
run_program("/sbin/umount","/system");
The partitions in the fstab are:
/recovery emmc /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/SOS
/boot emmc /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/LNX
/system ext4 /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/APP
/cache ext4 /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/CAC
/misc emmc /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/MSC
/staging emmc /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/USP
/metadata emmc /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/MDA
/data ext4 /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/UDA

[Question] Samsung GS3 mini (I8190) EFS script

I have device with IMEI NULL that I want to mount (or replace the efs into generic) in adb in similar with this script:
cd c:/androidsdk/tools
adb shell
su
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 ( skip to next step if fail)
mount -w -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
reboot
Click to collapse
I tried the above script but unfortunately it brokes the partition because I think that code is not for i8190, but no worry about that because I already managed to fix it with pit file.
Anybody can share it with me?especially developers please.
Thanks in advance.

0p3 is PIT partition. mmcblk0p11 is EFS, but i'm not sure what you're trying to do here.

I'm trying to mount the efs to create generic efs.tnx for the reply
EDIT: Is this the proper way of mounting or formatting efs?
Can I used this command in general?

mkdir /efs
mount -w -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p11 /efs

I think it could work. Otherwise try
Code:
mount -o rw,remount -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p11 /efs

Yeah, your /efs dir is still in root directory, but it looks like you got it formated and remounted.

Anyway, tnx for a big hand. Now then, I'll try to use special box to re-write the original imei.tnx tnx...really appreciate it

Any "FactoryApp" folder in /efs? If so, try
Code:
adb shell
su
echo -n ON > /efs/FactoryApp/factorymode
to get out of factory mode. Then reboot.
Use dialpad and enter *#*#0011#, use menu button and choose "back" , menubutton and "back" again. There you should have an option to rebuild/restore NV. Doubt it will bring back IMEI tho :/

After *#*#0011# you should get to factoryapp settings. When you push menubutton you will get a menu where you can choose back.
Btw, are you on stock rom?

Recover data from galaxy s plus with broken screen

Hello, I have a samsung galxy s plus with cm11 and a broken screen and i want to recover data from internal storage
when the phone is on i cannot access adb
in recovery i can use adb shell but don't know how to mount the internal storage.
I've tried several ways to mount but didn't work
here is my fstab
Code:
/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 /cache ext4 rw
/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 /data ext4 rw
/dev/block/mmcblk0p15 /system ext4 rw
and recovery.fstab
Code:
# Android fstab file.
# The filesystem that contains the filesystem checker binary (typically /system) cannot
# specify MF_CHECK, and must come before any filesystems that do specify MF_CHECK
#<src> <mnt_point> <type> <mnt_flags and options> <fs_mgr_flags>
/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 /boot emmc defaults recoveryonly
/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 /recovery emmc defaults recoveryonly
/dev/block/mmcblk0p15 /system ext4 ro,errors=panic wait
/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 /cache ext4 nosuid,nodev,barrier=1 wait,check
/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 /data ext4 nosuid,nodev,noatime,noauto_da_alloc,journal_async_commit,errors=panic wait,check,encryptable=footer,length=-16384
/devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host/mmc1 /storage/sdcard0 vfat defaults voldmanaged=sdcard0:28,nonremovable

Cannot format /data using TWRP 3.0.2[Solved]

I have a problem ... i'm trying to install Android MM using TWRP 3.0.2 but i can't because i can't format.
When i'm trying to format it shows this error: E:Unable to wipe '/data' -- unknown file system 'auto'
Unable to format to remove encrytion
Do i need to use another recovery?
Can someone tell me how to solve this?
I had the same problem, for some reason TWRP is unable to format encrypted partitions.
It can be solved using adb shell or using the terminal in TWRP (it's under the advanced tab).
To format the partition you have to know which device it is, to find out type this inside the terminal:
Code:
cat /etc/fstab
In my case the output is:
~ # cat /etc/fstab
/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 /system ext4 rw 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p14 /cache f2fs rw 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p15 /data f2fs rw 0 0
Which means that my /data is on device /dev/block/mmcblk0p15 and uses the f2fs filesystem. If you're on f2fs then you can format the partition using
Code:
mkfs.f2fs /dev/block/mmcblkXXXX
if you're on ext4 then use
Code:
make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblkXXXX
Where XXXX is whatever is in your fstab. After this TWRP should be able to mount /data.
It worked,thank you!
Ok, now i have another problem ... every time i'm trying to install(flash) a zip with TWRP it's rebooting again in TWRP and can't install anything ... I had this problem in the past and i solved it but i forgot how i did that .. anyone knows?
Solved: i had to format my sd card.
