App changes
Changes regarding apps.
1. Have replaced the unsupported/old/crippled CM File manager with a brilliant file manager called MiXplorer, thanks to the dev @HootanParsa, so go visit the thread and pass on some thanks/credit. The thread is also very active and a great spot for support
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
2. By default, RR added a menu item in settings called "Performance" which only became visible if you installed Kernel Adiutor from the market. I have by default installed the app KA-Mod-Reborn, which does the same things, without the monetization found in KA from the market. It also does not have a bug I found in KA whereby changing the CPU Gov broke the hot-plugging of CPUs. Please visit the thread to extend some thanks to the dev @Ali Haide 001 for allowing me to do so, and also visit it for any support.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/approot4-0-ka-mod-reborn-v18-t3714105
3. I have replaced the default Deskclock with OmniRom's deskclock, so thanks to OmniRom for that
4. I have replaced Eleven (the default music player) with Vinyl Music Player (Eleven has always been buggy for me with a large music collection) Originally I used Phonograph (from Omnirom), but it was missing a few features (such as a dark theme) which is in the OpenSourced GPL'd Phonograph by Kabouzeid, and Vinyl also has crashanalytics disabled. Thanks to Adrien Poupa for confirming he is happy to share :good:
5 De-bloated the RR OTA Updates (NB: It crashes if you try and select it, so simply dont), and the RR Statistics
6. Also includes the latest (as of 20 Feb 2018) Magisk and Magisk Manager
7. iOS EMOJI's

Attached is a script I place in /magisk/.core/service.d/ and also set the file permissions to 755, to enabled the IO Scheduler FIOPS and the CPU Governor to Tripndroid, and IO logging off, and cache to 1024mb, which results in my AnTuTu score as attached.

I built this ROM as my previous daily device just died :crying: so am not familiar with the "flashlight toggle bug as in other nougat roms", as I only just restarted using this device. And actually, I am waiting on a SDCard holder part from ebay, so currently I am actualy using a third device as my daily. What's the bug?

After every reboot you have to delete and readd the torch tile to quick settings once to make it work. Otherwise the torch won't turn on. Don't know about this rom either, but los14.1 has this bug.

My torch tile works every-time:good:, and I have done a number of reboots since I originally added it, so i guess it does not have this bug.:highfive:

I have just noticed one small bug, which may just be an artifact from the fix, or it could be what you are actually talking about.
The torch works correctly, and every-time without needing to re-add it to the QS Tiles. However, I have noticed that when I turn the torch off, the QS still shows it as being on until I hide the QS Tile panel. But the tile still turns the torch on and off, it just does not turn the QS tile off, when the torch is turned off.

Flashing this through TWRP 3.2.1-0 didn't work for me, stuck when patching system image, maybe the file I downloaded got corrupted?
Edit : I don't think it's corrupted, maybe I should use the recovery uploaded by kyasu?

I have both my data and cache partitions formatted as F2FS
I used the latest open GApps, Pico
In reality, I am running TWRP 3.1.0, but I really don't think that helps or hurts
Are you sure you wiped Data, Cache AND SYSTEM. You cannot dirty flash this over ANY other ROM, including another RR ROM!
Have you tried flashing just the ROM, does that boot?
It worked first time for me, and it appears others have also had success (ie no complaints) so it sounds like something on your end.
The only time it failed for me was when I tried to dirty flash over an existing RR ROM\
Wait a sec, you crashed while it was flashing? that does sound like a bad zip or (much less likely) a bad TWRP. I think ZIP. check the MD5:good:

In case anyone is thinking of reformatting their data partition to F2FS, please note, in doing so, you will also loose everything on your internal SD Card as well!
Reformatting your cache partition to F2FS is pretty safe, and I personally think of it as a "no-brainer"

RU planning to provide a regular updates of the image incl. newly released security patches?

ResurrectionRemix has ceased updates to Nougat. However, a lot of the source comes directly from LineageOS, so that will include some changes/fixes. As for Security Patches, these are dependent on RR, and I have seen crDroid (which is still doing dev on Nougat, and I used to build for my previous device) have included the latest security patch while RR has not. Its all up to the devs at RR, I certainly am not going to update and apply the security updates against RR source. Interestingly, the last security patch applied against RR, was actually after the date they said they had ceased dev on Nougat.
For background, my last device just died, and so I plan on switching to this device, and noticed how old the RR build was, and also saw the opportunity to use the Uber Toolchain (the last thing I did for my previous device before it died). The problem I have with this device is that the SDCard reader is faulty, and I am having issues getting the replacement part, at a good price.
So, as far as regular goes, then NO. The other RR builds are probably so backdated because of the above fact. However, if there is a change in the source that improves the ROM running on MY device, for ME, then I will do a build. Its all about me But more importantly, if I cant find a cheap WORKING sim/sdcard reader replacement, this may just be the last build. Everyone sells the part for an i9505 and they are NOT interchangeable as most would have you believe.

You hit the mark!
I have seen many images that were not continued, and this hits me in particular after a severe security bug has been identified.
The reason why I'm asking is quite simple: if you don't intend (for whatever reason) to maintain this image, I would prefer to install another one.
My interpretation of your response is that you will deliver updated images once you identify a benefit for your personal usage.
What about fixes for malfunctions?

You have to understand, most if not all ROM developers are not in this for the money. Some are into it as a hobby/interest and maybe gain experience (not me, its not my direct area), and as such, when a new version comes along, in this case Oreo, they move onto that. If you really need the latest security patches, then I would suggest moving onto an Oreo ROM. Maybe even update your device as well. Or maybe build a ROM of your own.
I currently personally like Nougat RR, for the features and eye-candy. I keep financials and very personal info off my phone; ie security is not as high a priority.

As I suggested, maybe Oreo would be best for your needs. Or something else that is still being developed. Such as crDroid. The last time I checked, they have the latest Security patch and are still developing their Nougat branch.
I get NO benefits from you using my ROM. If anything, it means more time responding to questions. However, it appears that the existing build of RR Nougat, for this device is much older, with an older security patch. And as I keep stating, RR has ceased dev, and most other devs have moved onto Oreo. I would not expect too many more other releases of RR, and they will most likely stick with the current security patch. Most official devices have had their "FINAL" builds already released. I have not checked, but these may even be on the previous security patch

I would only even look at it directly if it affects me personally, and badly. This ROM is simply a share of a build I did for myself. The changes I think you are talking of, are the type of thing the RR team (or LOS) would look into; and note, if LOS don't fix it, the RR team certainly wont, and not all LOS fixes come through into RR. I have a life and work outside of building android ROMs.

I flashed the boot.img from this rom on los14.1 to get those sweet extra governors to play around with. It's working great so far!

Just in case
I'd really like to use a CM/Slim based ROM.... But every one I've tried for the past year has had flaky signal issues (on At&t), where the signal bar constantly jumps around from two - full - three - one - full and will continue doing this non-stop. I know it doesn't actually affect the signal, but it drives my OCD cRaZy :silly:
I have not tried a CM based ROM in about 3 months.... Has this issue been fixed on At&t phones?

The signal fluctuating from 3 to 0 bars had been fixed officially in cm12 this month. Not sure what commit it was bit they talk about it in the official cm12 thread over in the original HTC One m8 section.

To let you know, the fix is not commited in cm12.1 so the fluctuating bars is still present in all Android 5.1 roms right now. I only know official cm12.0 Android 5.0 has the fix and maybe other toms that are based off that.
Just as I flashed a GPE Rom... Tsk Tsk, never been on ASOP before. But this looks promising.
Is the CM Sound issue still in this ROM?
Nice work !
Is the distorted sound bug still there ??

Which issue u mean? Also, this is a very early 5.1 build. There are bound to be a couple bugs. Ill attempt to fix as they are reported.

Oh great, now you tell me after I flashed it!
No worries, I flashed it and seen the issue was still there...... Nice, smooth ROM otherwise, but my OCD went into hyper mode and I restored my previous ROM Nandroid.
I'll keep a watch on the CM threads for an update/fix for this.
Thanks!

Same issue as listed by the other user above haha, distorted sound in CM ROMS. Seems not based on your input though.
I'll install Project Era over the ROm and let you know if there are any issues with sound after that later tonight.
Guys maybe someone can help me out or point to the right direction I'm an audiophile I love this ROM but can't seem to find why audiofx or viper doesn't work on cm12 ROMs works fine on gpe and stock I've tried it all did some research and none seem to work out

Why not just install Project Era it works on ASOP all except for the beats addon.
5.1 seems a lot smoother
I see alot of sound issues but my Wi-Fi keeps dropping out. On Verizon, obviously clean flash, selected install all in gapps. It just drops. It first tells me can't connect to network on my 5ac or 2.4. Any ideas ?
The only problem I have is my WiFi not being able to connect but when I leave out of the setting and go back in it saves my password and I can connect from there. Also WiFi keeps dropping. Vzw.

Nice to see you again with the new ROM! I will check it in the next days and give a feedback.
One question: is the kernel modified somehow or is it pure CM kernel?
EDIT: afh link leads to a login site, not a download page!

Whoops!!! The link is fixed! Sorry for that!
The kernel is stock CM Kernel. Not modified in anyway.

Thanks for using my ROM.. I appreciate that. I use WhatApp too here and I've got no issues with Stock theme and I have been using a different theme since last week I've been testing this ROM. To fix this, try applying the theme and then Rebooting the device for full application. Or try clean flashing the ROM again..
Yes there are customizations for that. Go to Settings -> Configurations -> Buttons -> Buttons And Layout for adding a custom button on the Nav Bar..:good:

Thank you to answer.
I will try clean flashing, but already did it.
For the custom button, is it possible to pick an action of another app ?
Hi @hhrokarvi, I have tested your new ROM for a couple of hours and it is really full of features (I guess no onther ROM has so many options!) so anyone can configure a phone according to her/his needs. It also run smoothly and is compatible with Xposed and V4A.
However, I have found one issue - multiple partial wakelocks, as indicated by BBS or many apps listed in battery stats. So it is somehow similar to Beanstalk builds you provided some time ago. It is present on both, stock and custom kernels, so probably not related to kernel.
Can anybody confirm that or is it only my particular case?

Hey bro! Thanks for the comments.. I am running HurtSky Kernel right now and I've tested for 3 days on Stock kernel as well, and I didn't have Wakelocks issue, and my battery life is pretty amazing, around 3.5 hours of screen on time with WiFi on, certainly better than my past experiences with other MM ROMs for this device. I don't know what Apps you're running or have currently installed so I can't tell you anything for sure, but try testing it more for a better result. Check my Screenshot for a better understanding!
I'll try improving this situation in my next build.

Nah you can't pick actions for any apps, and try installing some other CM13 themes for your theming issues, if you don't want to clean flash the ROM immediately.

With the same set of apps I had no wakelocks problem on other MM ROM (CyanPop). On the other hand these wakelocks seem to have no impact on the battery life, it is weird, isnt't it? So I will try to ignore this as long as I don't see a negative effect Hopefully it will be gone in a short future.

Hey bro. Just change it's permissions by going into App Info of the Boat Browser, then going into the Permissions tab and enable it for External Storage

Update!
Hey Guys!! Update is up!
Download Link (Build 2)
Not so many changes, just a couple here and there. See RR's Github for any changelogs if you want.
Remember
After flashing the Update Zip, flash Gapps again!! If you don't, it's going to result in FC's...
Great ROM, pretty stable. Only got one random reboot, apparently for no special reason.
The only bug (I think it's a bug) is the update screen - attached
Anyway, it's the ROM I chose to use daily for now.

Its not official yet, that's why no OTA screen, I've applied for Official support, after that I'll set for OTA's.
The reboot bug isn't their in stock kernel, I use hurtsky kernel, which gives me the reboot sometimes, maybe once every other day.
Update!
Hey Guys! Update is upon us.
Download Link (3rd Build)
Not any major changes. Some small fixes and enhancements here and there. Check RR's Github for any changes you wanna see yourself.

Everything that was working in Lineage is working fine here, all the RR customize tools are working, we can finally enjoy navigation buttons and disable hardware buttons as well ! Good job buddy, I've finally found my daily driver I will keep you updated if I encounter any bugs

I will be testing this myself, but could you confirm that the bug causing 15%+ battery drain overnight was fixed? Also, thank you for the feedback.
Just installed this on my tab s2. Got everything I wanted installed. Feels much faster than TouchWiz. In the future will this rom include safetynet patches? I'll post again in a few days any bugs / major issues that i have.
Really happy to see development for the tab s2. Downloading now!
@Lightn1ng
Thanks for this new rom! I'm using your lightn1ing rom 6.x on my T719 ... would it be possible to make this rom also for the T719?
Would really very much appreciate.

You can flash the t713 version on a t719 but cell won't work. Other than that it should work.

Thanks, flashed it works great! Would some beer motivate you to add the cell part to t713?
Is it only me or the tablet tends to get hotter at times ? I do know that Touchwiz has more aggressive CPU throttling hence the small lags but it manages to keep the tablet cool, and I've always noticed that AOSP roms tend to run hotter. I thought it only happened on Exynos devices (you can cook a pizza with AOSP on the Tab S 8.4) but since this is a Snapdragon device, I was actually surprised. Anyone else having this small issue ? Or should I give it a couple of days for the ROM to settle ?

uhh magisk hide isn't turning on. i think that is the problem there, i check the box enable, reboot, and it shows it's off.

I don't have a device to test with. I really do not have the skill to do it anyway.

I have noticed this on my T700, and my G900V. Not really played around with it on my T713 yet. I believe this can all easily be tweaked with Kernel Auditor, which I recommend, because AOSP tends to give a lot more power than TW when it's not needed.

Magisk hide is what hides root from SafetyNet and apps that detect root basically
It's not enabling for some reason; it works perfectly fine on my OnePlus 3t which is also running Resurrection Remix (official build however)
@Lightn1ng
Feedback / bug report
I just discovered two things:
- proximity sensor is not detected (at least my gravity screen app is complaining)
- mic is not working (checked with two apps voice recording and okay google)

Good work, Is there any issue related to camera app, video recording working fine?
And yeah any WiFi issue like WiFi is connected but no internet connection till you wwitch On/Off mobile WiFi
Screen Issue
I am using this ROM on my yureka , nice fluid ROM but the issue I am facing is that whenever I shuts down the screen , after a minute or 2 the screen wont start back again and neither can you call on your phone so I have to restart my phone by long pressing power key. I had the screen replaced and after that this issue started but it took care of itself that time but now after flashing this ROM I am facing the issue. So Pls help and by the way if I starts the music player and then closes the screen then it works like normal. Like if I starts the music player and comes back after an hour then it will respond to power button like normal.

Resurrection Remix Is such a popular rom that there are around 4-6 different builders generating their own individual builds. Unfortunately, yureka plus still lacks a stable nougat build. Nice to see someone fix the camera issue for a change.
I posted this on yu forums
ok, so the known bugs and inconveniences on 5.8.2 ROM are:
1) Video recording with stock camera app crashes after a few secs. All third party camera apps crash also.
2) IRCTC and some wallet apps refuse to start saying device is rooted. Need a built-in fix.
3) Kernel adiutor app has no control over cpu frequency. Values do not obey manual settings and seem to be changing as per ata from thermal sensor(thermal throttle). No frills cpu control is working.
4) When stock music app is playing music, it takes up three extra rows in the notification section one each for artist, album and song being played. A headache when looking at SMS and email notification while travelling.
5) Annoying "device is HD capable" notification is still being showed. This appears to be some kind of advertisement from someone called "codearora". Need to edit ims.apk each time I flash a new RR.
6) Duplicate contacts in the contact app. Each contact that has a whatsapp account appears twice in contacts. A quick fix for this is to login at contacts.google.com and quickly merge all whatsapp contacts with their original entries. This fixes the issue in contacts app but not in the messaging app. If you click the plus sign in messages then > all contacts, it again shows numbers twice and sometimes thrice even.
7) Voice over LTE(VoLTE) is present but Video over LTE(ViLTE) is still missing. All ViLTE calls get converted to VoLTE. Installing dialer app Jio4voice app does not fix it. ViLTE calls made using Jio4voice app automatically launches stock phone app which then proceeds making the call in VoLTE mode.

So i've ran into a problem.
I've installed "no frills cpu control" app and the app says thats "you must be rooted in order to use this app". There is no root setting in "development options" anymore. There is one option inside magisk settings page but changing things in there do not fix it.
I've also installed "link2sd" which can see that device is rooted.
Hmm, one app says device is rooted while other says device isn't. Any solutions?
What about Nitrogen OS?
Superb ROM am using this as my daily driver RR-N-v5.8.2

Rom has Auto-restart/reboot issue. CPU overheats
firsttt thanks for the great build. Smooth, many previous bugs squashed so far i noticed.
But found one ancient bug.. coming bck frm dead.. CPU overheating on games n apps then cell reboots. It keeps rebooting even on unlock smtyms even at yu logo.
Though if u cool down the cpu with moist cloth.. it starts stays. until next time.
So here are my request to dev ..
1) please suggest noob-friendly solution to aforementioned problem.
2) I tested with clash royale, mx player, fb+imo+hike+chrome it died.. so workaround stuff like kernel or app with how to.
Thanks

Resurrection Remix the ROM, has been based on LineageOS, slim, omni and original Remix ROM builds, this creates a combination of performance, customization, power and the most new features, brought directly to this device
To install this ROM, you will need to have a data partitioned in F2FS format (I personally run my cache as f2fs as well, don't know if thats a requirement). This will wipe EVERYTHING including your internal SD Card. BACK IT UP FIRST!

Whats Working
I assume everything that is also working in an official RR release.
RR ROM includes Magisk for root access and the Pixel Launcher & Trebuchet.
Bugs
I assume everything that is also NOT working in an official RR release.
You may get an odd "MTP has stopped". check your USB config in developer settings
Sometimes, the album cover does not display on the lock screen
Clicking in the audio of video recordings. Install OpenCamera from google play, and remove the standard camera.
If you find any other... then report them here., and I will duly ignore
Procedure
NB: You must format your Data partition as F2FS
Download the latest PICO or NANO GApps from OpenGapps
Backup your internal SD Card, off of the device eg USD or Hard Disk
Boot to TWRP
Make a nandroid backup, and ensure this backup is not on the device itself
Format your data partition to F2FS (do NOT post for instructions on how to do this on this thread!) I personally run my cache as f2fs as well, don't know if thats a requirement
Wipe Cache , System & Dalvik-Cache
Flash the ROM Zip
Flash Gapps ARM -> 7.1
Done - Reboot to [System]
Wait...
Do not mirror the ROM links below, and include a link back to this original thread if you post the link on another forum or web page. By downloading you also agree not to rename or modify the ROMs contents and re-publishing elsewhere.

https://github.com/ResurrectionRemix/android_vendor_resurrection/blob/nougat/CHANGELOG.mkdn
NB: Development by the RR team has ceased on Nougat in favor of Oreo. However, specific unchanged components from LineageOS do have continued development (mostly minor from what I have seen). But/so do not expect many, if any updates to this ROMs current state from me.

I put this up for testing. its actually a daily candidate now my daily!
This ROM is de-ODEXED. I tried building an ODEX'd version, but it had constant FC's. This ROM is VERY sensitive to optimisations "it does not like".
I use another device which I think is an official device as a test for features, and that is even less stable than the build for our device!
Further development by the RR team has ceased on their Nougat builds (they are now focused on Oreo), so you can consider this build a "final".
If you apply substratum theme. It may fail the first time. Just reboot and re-apply, and it will work. Have seen this in other ROMs & devices so I'm not too concerned.
I would recommend crDroid for less problems (asnd the fact that they are continuing to bug fix/develop for nougat), but I personally like the extra Eye-Candy RR has. I have switched to this as my daily, and the only thing I haven't got to work yet (I have for crDroid) is Viper. Which could be a deal breaker if I don't get it up and running soon.
I now have Viper working:highfive:
To get different Weather Icons, search the play store for "Chronus". I have downloaded vClouds and MIUI.:good:

Music player from crDroid instead of Eleven (Eleven is buggy for me, >2400music files, and it appears to only loop about 10 songs instead of my whole collection, I have also had constant FC's since it was first introduced to replace Apollo crDroid Music does not appear to have these same issues:good
SELinux permissions added to allow ViperFX to run in SELinux Enforcing mode

EDIT: I tried and failed at switching from Magisk to SuperUser. You may do better.
If you want to use SuperUser nstead of Magisk, you can remove the following line from the install zip, in the file:
META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
Code:
run_program("/sbin/sh", "/tmp/magisk/META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary", "dummy", "1", "/tmp/magisk/magisk.zip");
Its the 4th last line.
I tried an unrooted build, but when I flashed SuperUser install zip, it failed. I'd be interested if someone else has better luck
This ROM is my daily. I have and personally think it needs it, de-bloated the ROM. It has 2 launchers and a couple of file explorers. One of each is all you need. I personally use a custom launcher and use an old version of ES File Explorer. I have not de-bloated the "Files" app, as I read somewhere its used/required/integrated into the ROM / system.
Other candidates are the OTA updates and the ROM statistics. If I was more patient, I would of modified the ROM to exclude them from the menu, but I could not personally wait to use this ROM.

I won't test this for a while as your crDroid builds are golden, but I will eventually... Thanks for posting it! It is in the Rom Index!
@ilichva, If you read this post, and have the time, could you post a link on 4PDA back to this thread please.

Its basically stock RR, so the YouTube images should be pretty close.
FYI: If you need init.d style boot scripts, Magisk's post-fs-data does not work, but service.d does. And init.d by CM/LOS hasn't worked (ie its been disabled) for a few years now.
@DiamondJohn
I have your Rom presented in a German-RazrHD-Forum with an Link to this Thread
I hope its OK
And i don´t now about the reaktion...it´s a longtime really silent there ...

Thats a good thing. I am hoping to get some interest from other devs, who may possibly take it further, even into oreo. thanks.
Flashing now, will report back later.
FYI: "long press power button to interact"
I was sometimes getting a strange black screen with the message "long press power button to interact" when switching the screen on from sleep. I did a search and found that it was related to the new pocket detection feature. Switching the pocket detection mode off should fix it; and its not specific to our phone or even just to RR ROM. https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...11-10-2016-t3478365/post73970491#post73970491
And I have to mention, this has now been my daily for about 5 days, and I'm loving it.
My daily driver for 2 days now. No force closes, shutdown or anything alike so far. Have been using CM 12.1 on KKBL until now. This however is a whole different thing in terms of stability! Besides all the eyecandy
Thank you so much for making this possible and keep up the good work!
Cheers
IOS10 EMOJI's
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK:
If you can handle some more eye-candy. Here is a replacement for the little green blobs for emoji's. I simply unzipped the attached font, placed it in /system/fonts/ and checked the permissions had not changed (644 I think) and rebooted, and they were then available.:good:
I sourced the font file from the magisk IOS 10 Emoji module. Hopefully I am not doing anything wrong
I use GBoard as my keyboard (I have actually made it a system app and de-bloated the inbuilt LatinIME keyboard, but that's just me) which also allows you to search for EMOJI's which I find pretty handy.
Use at your own risk!!!
The following are two cut down scripts I use on my phone.
The first sets the CPU and GPU to be overclocked, and also sets the CPU Governor. I actually am testing dyninteractive in reality, but it should be pretty obvious what needs to be changed to select a different gov.
The IO Script basically ups the read ahead cache, sets the IO Gov to tripndroid, turns off IO Stats and remounts any EXT4 partitions with some optimisations.
You do not have to use both. You can simply use the overclock one if you like. I prefer boot scripts over using apps such as KA to set these values. I actually have another script which "hibernates" any un-needed app such as KA at boot time so as to optimise free ram
To enable these scripts, unzip the files and place them in /magisk/.core/service.d and set their permissions to 755
SEE https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74483496&postcount=30 for updated/corrected scripts.
