Hi all,
I have just re-started to use my Galaxy S after it sitting in a draw for 18 months. It currently has Rombox Beast V3.0 as the rom, and the Play Store app is miles out of date, which I am guessing is the reason for me getting errors when trying to update/download any apps.
Can I have some recommendation as to a ROM I can drop in and flash over the top of what I have, + gapps if needed, to get the phone functioning again.

In my opinion last Mackay KitKat Rom is the best choice for our old Galaxy...
And Dirty 8 is not bad...

I will recommend PA Gapps as these are most updated: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Personally I'm using Micro Modular Package, here's direct download link: https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/TKruzze/Android 4.4.4 GApps/Mini-Modular GApps/
And you can of course use PA Gapps Remover if you doesn't need any app from the package: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50684852

Hi all,
Thanks for your suggestions, I just have one issue now ... status 7 error while installing.
I realise from some other posts I need to flash CWM 6.03 or above (I prefer CWM to TWRP) in order to flash the ROMs, I know this is being lazy, but are there any posts out there with the necessary downloads ?? I have had a quick look ...

I installed both of the roms,but I have a problem. I installed some gapps,but not working.

It's from a chain's developer and looking great.
It is based on cm 13 try it.
You can selet the language after flashing the rom don't wory for that.
Flash offical gapps and fingerprint also working fine.

Thanks for sharing the link, have tried it already.
Honestly, nothing special about this ROM, just a custom themed version of CM13 and doesn't support theme engine.

but fingerprint was not working in this rom.
and all are working fine and difficult to use then other rom.

Sorry, but did you have any credits on that? Did you stole it and upload it on your Google Drive because there are no credits? You promise that this rom is faster then others... Compared to what? What rom Base... AOSP, CM?

bro i am said that i am just using this and i am not stolen this rom this rom from official site of www.fiui.org. i just thinked that to share who dont no about there is any mistake from me please excuse me . it's based on cm. it is very fast then other roms.

hello guys, today i were searching for a new rom to be flash for my op3 . and im gonna be tryin a rom called AOSIP (well, its not a "new" but this is the first time i want to flash this rom)
what suprising me is, there a folder for a cancro rom and another surprise that the rom zip for cancro is aosip 5.9 while for my op3 it still aosip 5.8 and its OFFICIAL ?
so, i wonder who is the maintainer and why no thread for that rom ?

How did the ROM perform for you or has been pefrorming for you.?
Which ever ROM I have used until now has given me BAD BAttery life. They're all smooth but overnight (when not in use) battery drain is terrible.
Have you had any luck with a ROM that does well in this regard?
