Secure-Task not working with OREO - Tasker Tips & Tricks

Hello,
I am using (with Nougat) secure-task for freezing/killing apps and dont want to miss it.
After trying OREO, it blocks the system (screen after reload about blocked workspace), after making the ADB stuff (device owner etc).
Is there some turnaround, that you guys already found about it?

Where in this thread did anyone complain about insecure lock screen? That action is gotten significantly more difficult with each android major update.

Since we are talking about this... what is insecure lockscreen? Like changing one with password to simply swipe to unlock? If that is the case, I only know it's possible with LOS.

Yes, it's exactly that and you can do it with tasker and securetask. Also on oreo, just not on Samsungs oreo

Yeah, true, it's getting more and more difficult with each Android version.
A possible 'workaround' would be to set grace timeout to indefinite.

For locking the screen when pressing the power button?
Yes, that's a workaround but then you can't quickly check your notifications on the lock screen or control spotify, kodi, netflix and so on from the lockscreen because well, there isn't any.

[Q] How to disable popup warning AFTER charging?

Hi,
I recently got a wireless charging receiver for the phone and now I get this annoying popup which says to close the micro usb properly to prevent water damage.
This happens also sometimes during charging in the middle of the night.
Can anyone tell me how to disable the popup? To make it clearer, it is not the flashing text that appears when the phone is connected to the charger. ( this can be disabled via xposed module)
The one I am talking about is more like a text with a white background picture.
"for protection against water damage firmly seal the charging cover before use"
Anyone else with the "problem" ?
I am on NEE-I9295XXUBMK2.
Thanks for the help in advance.

this also happens when I disconnect the device from USB.

I second that!
I have found battery_cover_notice.xml in systemui\res\layout
There is an battery_cover_notice_image and an battery_cover_notice_message
The Pic is help_img_usb.png in folder systemui\res\drawable-hdpi
Now you can try and delete the battery_cover_notice.xml from the SystemUI

I tried and it worked ( at least the popup doesn't appear anymore) but I do not have a notification area at the top anymore. No clock, Signal or anything.
Perhaps it's because of the odex file? Didn't touch that.
I will try it again. Might be, I did something wrong.....
Thanks
okay thanks for feedback...
I will investigate this....
So is there no non-root way of disabling this?

I am.
No solution found so far.
Only I remember - that started after OTA update from Samsung in later 2013.
On original software I didn't have such warning.
Before and after is 4.2.2 Android, I didn't notice any changes, so I am lookiing for old firmware to download...
p.s. I also have wireless charger from "indiegogo"

Cloud it be that this notice is a toast with a custom theme? You could check it with my app EnhancedToast, and hide it if it is a toast. Enable logging in the app and watch it.And yes, root is required for Xposed. Btw, the Google edition don't show it at all

^Mostly what I was going to say, so thanks.
You should check EnhancedToast if you can, and you could always switch ROM's - I'm loving the CM 10.2 ROM, which doesn't have the warning, and offers a lot of other advantages. If a notification comes up in the bar, long-press it and see if comes up with the "app info" button - it could be run through some sort of stock app that you could disable or uninstall altogether.

Any good source to learn more of ROMs? What do I lose if I dump the original, what do I get with some other ROM?
How should I backup? Meaning there's lot's of data:
- contacts and messaging and that stuff
- pictures, music, videos etc
- OS (?)
- ROM
- Apps (downloaded and system)
Maybe someone could explain the best practice to backup ROM,OS and apps.
Thanks in advance, Kaptah.

What method of rooting your phone did you use? They are not the same thing, but it is possible to do them both at the one time. If everything looks different, then yes, you would have changed your ROM while rooting.

This problem appeared/reappeared when i upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.3 (ML2)
After rooting ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2690133 )
and disabling KNOXagent it still gives this warning, which it did not do after the 4.2.2 Active Root.
This is merely an annoyance but if someone figures out a quick way to disable it that would be grand.
i have this issue too. cant wait for a fix for this. just updated to 4.3 a few days ago and having to tap the bubble everytime is just annoying. why the hell would they add these rediculous notifications? its not like att or samsung will stand behind the "waterproof" claim anyway..... water damage weather the door is open or closed means your screwed no matter what.
I've personally tried using the "EnhancedToast" module for xposed and the prompts do not register as toast events. It has to be something else.

Face unlock on 5.0.1

I've seen random people say that face unlock is fixed on the 5.0.1 ota, previous versions were too dark to recognize your face. I'm on 5.0.1 but I'm still having the dark screen bug. Can anyone confirm whether the update really fixed it or not? If it did, does anyone have tips for making mine work correctly?
Sent from my Nexus 6
Its not fixed on mine
I can confirm, T-Mobile 64 update has resolve the problem. Now just need a better camera app.
Not fixed on mine either! UK 5.0.1 side loaded decrypted and rooted
Why did you guys telling that Face unlock should be fixed yet?
I mean, Do you have that option available in your device?
I don't have that option in my Nexus 6..

I'm not so sure that this is a bug with the face lock, as it is that the front facing camera is very weak at low brightness.

It doesn't work the way it used to on KitKat which is why they have it set up differently in the settings. It will start looking for your face as soon as you turn the screen on, if it recognizes you before you swipe up to unlock the device, you won't have to input the pattern. If it doesn't recognize you by then, then it simply shows you the pattern pad to unlock. The only indication you have of it working is the bottom center icon. It will show a user icon when it's attempting to detect your face, and will switch back to a padlock when its done.

Ya it got added with the T-Mobile 5.1.1 update but dose not come with the "Sprint" update .
Thanks for the list. I had disabled most of these already, but there were several that I weren't sure about on your list, so thanks.
I have a question though. Recently, my stock calendar app has been broken. It doesn't seem to be syncing; it shows old appointments on my default week view, but not recently created appointments, and when I try to select calendars to display, or tap on a specific day on the calendar, it just spins forever. Any idea what I might have disabled to kill the calendar's ability to sync or refresh?
I just got it too, and I think it's possibly related to the WebView package https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview, which got updated recently. That'd certainly explain why this is the first time I'm seeing a crash (on my Nexus 6P).

One thing I observed was the com.quicinc.cne.cneservice. I'm a big fan fan of afwall+ , so I'm monitoring everything at the moment and the PID 1000 is extremely active. There are of course many entries for that.
But tbh I don't like it, because it also seems to send some IDs around
and the main reason is, I prefer to decide for myself, when mobile data is active.
Didn't find anything on xda/ on google in general (besides reports of heavy data usage ...)
Is there a way to disable it ?

I think it's a bad idea to delete it. I believe it's part of the function to route data over the strongest network connection. You could however do a nandroid, then if there is a problem after you've removed it, you'll be able to return to your previous state. If you do this, pay back for results ?

What the heck does this error mean and how do I fix it. I get it when I try to update my credit card info for Android Pay, and also when I try to authorize accessibility for several of my apps (like my password library, Tasker and the like).

Do you have Lux installed? Anything that draws over your screen screws with that kind of thing (I had the same error yesterday).
I don't know the exact answer, but perhaps this will help narrow it down:
Settings/Apps/cog top right > Configure apps/Draw over other apps - this lists the ones that have the permission to draw over the app you're using.

It's not an error. It's a feature to prevent tapjacking.
What is tapjacking protection and how do I turn it off/adjust the settings so that I can use the features.
I mean really? An anti-hack that keeps the user from controlling his own phone? That's sounding like iOS, not our beloved Android.....

If you are afraid something is "dangerous" for your phone, please stop browsing XDA forum and stop posting questions here.
People here are changing OS, kernels, boot and recovery image files, which is like x10 from what you want to do.
Developer options are there in your phone to tweak things, not to do anything dangerous at all. So if you have not exhausted all options, don't bother to read and follow anything on the internet. Peace.
