Dose tasker support Android 8.1.0 ? - Tasker Tips & Tricks

I'm using Android 8.1.0 on Nexus 5 X (rooted),
And I'm trying to forward my sms to another phone.
So I set the tasker maks it send SMS to another number after received any SMS.
But it dosen't work.

Tasker works fine on 8.1.0 for me.
It's always a good idea to share your profile when it's not working as expected. Make sure it's named - not a default name assigned by tasker. Then long press on the name to highlight the profile. Go to the 3-dot menu and select export -> Description to Clipboard.
Then you'll be able to paste it. Be aware, it easier to use pastebin then link to a post here. If you paste in a post here, the forum software will convert all semicolons with characters after, typically "on" and "off" to emoticons making it very hard to read.

Tasker unable to send email

Hello Group,
Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus; running Android version 7.0
Tasker version 5.0u6m
Email Plugins: SendSilentMail and MailTask
Problem: I have a number of Profiles that when executed they will email the Tasker backup file along with the battery logs that was created from a separate Profile. These profiles work great on my Note 3. The problem that I am having is ever since I transitioned to my Samsung Galaxy S8+ the mail plugins are not emailing the files that it did when the Profiles were on the Note 3. I have reached out to the developer of MailTask and he/she could not figure out why its not working. The developer of SendSilentMail has a dead email address. In addition, I have tried other mail plugins and I am still getting the same issue. SL4 does not work on my version of Android and have not worked after Kit Kit so using that plugin is out of the question.
Does anyone know how I can get Tasker and the mail plugins (or other alternative) to send email with our without attachments.
Regards,
Vernon
Have you tried capturing a logcat while running the task? It's possible it will give some insight.

Continuous conversation using AutoVoice

Everyone must be familiar with this conversation with Google Assistant:
User: Set a reminder
Assistant: What's the reminder?
User: Call John
Assistant: When do you want to be reminded?
User: 11 a.m.
The 'Call John' and '11 a.m.' make sense only because Assistant knows that I have previously asked it to 'Set a reminder', in other words, Assistant can 'remember' the previous conversations it has had.
However, is the same possible using AutoVoice? Of course, I'll have to say 'Let me talk to AutoVoice' initially. That's not a problem. Can there a project be made using Tasker such that conversations with AutoVoice can also be 'remembered' in a similar manner?
p.s. - I know it is a silly idea trying to do something that is already inbuilt in Assistant. But, this is just an example case so that I can learn the basic framework of such a project. If this can be done, then I'll think of other use cases also.
I think your questions get answered on the AutoVoice website.

Event profile stops working after restart/timeperiod

Been trying to Google a solution but in vein.
I want my Flic button to trigger a task.
I make a Profile in Tasker, choose event -> Plugin -> Flic and select my button and behaviour.
To this event I choose one of my tasks.
So far so good. The task executes when I click my Flic button. Great!
After a while, leaving the room with my phone or rebooting the phone, nothing happens when I'm back and click my Flic! I'll then have to open Tasker, edit my Flic-event under profiles and save the Flic behavior again for it to execute when I click my Flic.
Why does it disconnect like this? It only works just after creating the event.
Please help. Desperate!
Have you asked the plug-in developer for help? This sounds like it's in their court. Looking at the Tasker run log might give some insight, but my guess is it's at a lower level than that.
Reading through the FLIC community support it looks like there are reports of hit or miss and maybe only a double click action will work with Tasker.

Thanks for your reply ktmom!
I found a workaround for my problem.
I simply put my task as a shortcut (instead of a widget/task) on my homescreen. I can then assign my task within Flic app by choosing "Launch shortcut" under "Phone control" in Flic app...
However I'm still bothered by that previous mentioned problem.
Things are sort of working now !
Good workaround idea!
Maybe one day they'll fix the issue so we don't have to keep an extra shortcut to make it work!

Turn on Bluetooth when in motion.

Hello,
How can I have Tasker turn on Bluetooth whenever I'm in motion?
I have a connected vehicle and whenever I leaving work, home, shipping etc., I would like Tasker to turn Bluetooth on and when I'm not in motion for more than 10 minutes turn Bluetooth off.
Any assistance is appreciated.
Micheao
If you really v want this to be motion sensing, then I suggest the AutoLocation plug-in. It does required GPS to be on for most precision/accuracy. Additionally, your location will be constantly monitored so you're going to be draining the battery.
If this is too turn on Bluetooth to connect to the car radio and turn off when you've left the car, then I'd be using the Bluetooth near context.

Yes, I want it to be motion sensing using the GPS and battery is not a problem. Is it a limitation with Tasker that makes it impossible to do?
Regards
Tasker is a framework first. Plugins add features that not all users will want. This method of using plugins helps keep the core app under control from a maintenance and size point of view.
You can create a task that gets your location, then gets a second location, compare those results and determine if the device is moving. Read Tasker's online documentation: location without tears.

Thanks for the no help
So what have you tried since the last post 2 weeks ago? How about you post your profile and indicate what's not working.
To do that, make sure it's named - not a default name assigned by tasker. Then long press on the name to highlight the profile. Go to the 3-dot menu and select export -> Description to Clipboard.

Tasker no longer turning wifi on/off?

I've had basically the same profiles/tasks for years now. Suddenly, my wifi isn't turning off/on when it should be. Is there a permission or something that might have gotten changed?
S9 Android v8.0
Tasker v5.6
I've restarted the phone and disabled/enabled Tasker.
Edit: I also put the Profile description text into pastebin and shared it here which exposed data that messed up my IFTTT webhook task... so that sucks. And, apparently, it was all for nothing because I'm not getting any help...
You need to provide more information about the profile. What is the context (trigger) to run the task that contains a WiFi on/off action? It's good to post your profile when it's not working as expected.
Make sure the profile is named - not a default name assigned by tasker. To name the profile if it isn't already, long press on the name to highlight the profile and, at the top, tap the square with the A.
Then long press on the name to highlight the profile. Go to the 3-dot menu and select export -> Description to Clipboard.
Now you'll be able to paste it. Be aware, it easier to use something like pastebin.com / hastebin.com and link to a post here. If you paste in a post here, the forum software will convert semicolons with characters directly after to emoticons making it very hard to read.
How's this?: https://pastebin.com/baWtQSFn
I guess everyone knows my location now... That's why I didn't want to paste that kind of info. Seems like a bad idea for privacy/security....
Edit: And now part of that profile (IFTTT lights) keeps getting triggered... Is it because I posted the info publicly and someone hacked it? WTF is going on?
