Hey guys,
i have a strange issue with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 und LinageOS. Im using latest release of los and my vw discover media shows the wrong song when streaming via Bluetooth. It always shows the last song, not the playling one. Using Deezer and Spotify. I tried to change the Bluetooth avrcp version in developer options, but no luck.
Is there a avrcp command, which i can start every 1s to send the right infromations to the radio?
I'm having the same problem.
/Update: I solved this problem by switching from GoneMAD to PowerAmp. So the player being used is also affecting it.

Hi, I recently bought a Mercedes Benz A-Class 2013 with the Audio 20 CD package. The in-car hands free works great, and I'm able to play music over Bluetooth from my phone using the standard music app on my phone (I've tried both a Sony Xperia S and my HTC One). The title, album and artist of the current song is displayed fine as well.
The problem is, I only use Spotify or Audible to listen to music or audiobooks. Never the default music app.
When I try to play music over Bluetooth using Spotify, it plays the selected track for exactly 5 seconds, before it stops, and the built-in computer tells me that the Bluetooth playback is paused. No title/album/artist information is displayed either.
Does anybody know how I can fix this? I'm up for rooting my phone if that is necessary, as long as I'm able to play music from my phone using Spotify.
In the online manual to the MB car computer, the HTC One isn't one if the supported units, but my Xperia S is. Still, neither work with Spotify over Bluetooth.
I have tried to put Spotify in both online and offline mode. Neither work.
Alternatively, does anybody know of a way I could tunnel the audio output (and song information) from Spotify and "mask" it as the default music player app? (I know this is pretty far out there and if even possible, is probably very hard to do, but I'm open to any and all suggestions.)
Any help is appreciated!

Thank you so much for your reply! I did this, and suddenly, for no reason apparent to me, it works no matter how I connect my phone to it.
To sum it up. I disconnected my phone from both the music and the telephone screen. Then I connected it to the music screen, played a song, and while playing, connected it to the phone screen. Again, somehow everything works no matter which order I connect them in now. Weird, but I'm not complaining!
Hi guys,
The mi3 is my first Phone which does Not work with my skoda Bluetooth Radio. Neither the car Buttons for next track etc are working nor the track Informations are shown in the Radio screen.
I trink it is a Kernel Problem, right? Or are there any tweaks i could try to get This working?
Thx
Hi
I am also seeing this with Xiaomi Mi3 phone.
The phone plays in the car's audio but you cannot control the track from the car radio buttons. start/stop does not impact the phone and the prev/next buttons are grayed out.
Anyone else seeing this issue?
Anyone knows how could I overcome this?
(I did check with a different phone, lumia 930, and it's working correctly)
Thanks,
Uri
Hi,
I am using my mi3w with Hyundai elite i20. There's no problem in changing the track or anything. The only problem that I've encountered was with the song info display. It isn't showing the song info in car's display.
Edit:
That was with the ivans aosp latest.
Now I'm on MIUI 5.8.28 Beta and everything including the song info display works perfectly with the stock music app.

Are you seeing this issue with the stock music app? How about trying with any other application.
I cant test it out as, I'm currently not running stock ROm on my Mi3.
Thanks
I am still seeing this issue.
This happens with all music apps and podcast apps.
My ROM is just the native rom that comes with MI3.
Anyone else seeing this?
I have a problem. I have connected my phone to my car using bluetooth and playing music over this BT connection using Spotify.
I have done this before (sometime ago now, been using carplay the last half year), but last time I played music like this, the metadata from Spotify with current track and artist was displaying as it should on my car display.
But now, using my new 3T phone, the track information displayed in my car is the previous track and not the current. When I start to play, it shows the correct information but for the next song, then the track information is the same as the first song. And from then on, the track info is consequently one track behind.
Does this sound familiar? Who can I blame, my phone or Spotify? I am guessing Spotify but just thought I would check if anyone has experienced the same...

There is a known issue with metadata when using Bluetooth on OOS 4.1.X. This problem is most likely with the OS rather than Spotify. There have been some adjustments to how Bluetooth is handled in the latest Open Beta of OOS. It might be fixed on the next stable release.

I went to Settings and enabled developer options, then I set the Bluetooth AVRCP to 1.6 and that solved the problem of not showing the metadata on my BMW F31.
I got the global version , its running global stable 9.6.7.0, this is probably the 4th update since got the phone and since new it never played media via Bluetooth, It does connect but no audio, no problem with call audio connects fine, just no media, anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks
Mine is working perfectly in 9.6.7.0 and before. Playing audio (spotify) via bluetooth without any problem.
Enter settings--> bluetooth.
Enter your paired bluetooth device and ensure "audio multimedia" is checked.
Yes Media Audio is checked, I am starting to wonder if I have a hardware problem...that's gonna be a bummer with no warranty in the US...
go to "for developers" menu and find here bletooth audio codec, for me work SBC but after hour it changes back
Was wondering if anyone else had this issue, in my Audi using Bluetooth the music will play but I can't skip tracks using my card controls until I skip tracks manually on my phone, only after that can I change using my cars controls, ive been using Samsung since s5 and never had this issue, any ideas?

I have recently experienced that too. I noticed this problem when I updated the Samsung buds to the latest firmware. The first problem I noticed was that when the update finished it disconnected my Galaxy watch and made me reset it. I will do a factory reset on my phone and hopefully, that helps it.
Try to lower the AVRCP version in Developer settings in the Bluetooth section. Worked on my '13 Seat Ibiza with a portable Garmin system. After set it to 1.3, turn bluetooth off and on again.
If the AVRCP, which is set to 1.4 by factory, is too high, the music playback works mostly, but things like music controls and title information not.
I set it to 1.3 and it works for me now. I don't know if new devices are backward compatible, especially the Galaxy Buds.
Btw, I had similar issues with my old Huawei P10 on Android 8.0 (EMUI8). Google didn't implement the option to change the AVRCP version so I couldn't use my phone on the cars at work or rental cars - mostly VW and Mercedes.
I thought it was a hardware issue, but then I installed a 8.1 rom, where this option was enabled and from then it worked.
And with my iPhone 6S worked everything great 3 years ago under iOS9. 3 weeks ago I needed to use it again, updated to iOS 12 and it didn't work at all with my cars system. In iOS you don't have the ability to change the AVRCP version, so I guess Apple wants you to buy a new car, as Huawei does with EMUI8.
