It goes to a max temp of about 45 degree Celsius.
That's why I haven't released my kernel yet.
Need to find a way to cool the device while drawing as much power as I can.

Is any of you a kernel developer? @Dhruvshelke588 or @Sharma_Ji

Just for information: That will decrease the lifetime of the battery and the capacity if you increase the charging current above max and also can be dangerous, even when you cool the device(which will probably lower the probability of hardware issues).

Okay. Thanks for the information, but I already knew that. There's no problem for using such high currents on this device because the charger firmware I'm using is for zui 2.5. Also I read somewhere that zuk z1 in China supports currents upto 2.5 amps.

Why not, contribute to any progress of development is good. But just mention(like on every thread) that you are not responsible for any damage or nuclear war after applying your patch/changes

Sure, dash charge can with screen on. But very good :good:

3.5A @48°C gonna harm battery life in the long run. If temp is kept at 40°C and below, it'll be awesome. Keep it buddy, hope you'll give us dash charging for zuk Z1.

Thanks everyone, Just because of the thermals, I'm not releasing the kernel right now. Within 10 - 15 days, I will share it here.

Based on the threads i was going through of Nexus 6P users, and Nougat has made the battery life terrible. Some people are saying battery life is great, but this issue is one of the most star rated issue on Android Bug Tracker. Check on google, you'll get the whole story.

Just normal usage man. Lots of Reddit (Relay), a bit of music (Google Play Music), texting, calling, etc.
I'm slightly underclocked using Boefla kernel with some tweaks and tuneables of my own. I don't game on my phone. I regularly get 6+ hours of SOT. My setup (for some reason) is so perfect right now that I refuse to update the kernel and/or Rom until I'm missing out on some very big changes.
Attached is my kernel and Rom version. (I believe rom is stock 3.2.6)

Best Kernel
Hi can someone post a link for the best kernel to use with MRom, I tried the Z4_Z3P-DSDS_SK_Perm_v5.11_III.2_4_9_ctl_X_ivy_dual however the moment I flashed it the phone got crazy hot even after adjusting the frequencies also experienced problems with certain apps closing, camera doesn't even last seconds before it turns off, I had to flash back stock kernel to get function-ability. Not sure if that was the correct version for me to flash so I'm asking or if there is any tips to making it work. Thanks :good:

So I installed the latest sun kernel yesterday (v2.6), and had the phone running an entire day with it. In all honesty it was pretty smooth I still haven't noticed any bugs, lags, force-closes, etc. The only thing is a slight difference with temperatures compared to stock kernel see in pic (stock kernel left, sun kernel right). I have placed pics to show the differences, as for battery life I haven't been able to compare them as of yet. However I can say using stock kernel with minimal usage over a period of 9 hrs after full charge I got down to 57% so I will test the same with this latest sun kernel. The only other thing I am curious about are the CPU's, reason being with stock kernel the 4 big cores always showed offline using Kernel Auiditor and I can't adjust the frequencies. With this sun kernel it's the same situation. The 4 big cores are always offline and just remain that way at start up one of them becomes active for a couple of minutes with a frequency of 384MHZ then goes offline. Any insights as to why this is so would be appreciated. Any feedback will be appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

actually, the fridge thing probably won't work on OP5 with OOS because of their benchmark "cheating" thing, they removed most of the thermal throttling anyways I think...

It isn't exactly cheating. Besides all your so called cheating does is boost scores max by measly 1k-2k points if any at all. Besides if you knew how benchmarks worked you would know that locking freqs at max doesn't help but makes it worst due to throttling.
And for those that don't know red score on antutu means fsync is off which isn't exactly cheating.

Either disable Fastcharging options via Kernel aduitor app or revert back to MIUI. Oreo are optimised for Better user experience... Fast Paced life. And If it bothers you, You can stay from it. But 44-45° is Normal while charging if Fastcharging is enabled. Don't use Phone while charging. And Still you don't like it. Do as above. Also FYI, Stock charger will have better timing with Fastcharging enabled.

I thought its the rom issue . Because im using fastcharge in miui 9 using clarity kernel v2.6 and didnt found any heating up issue like you said.
Edit : maybe because im still using nougat.
And like you say, oreo are optimized for fast paced life. [emoji16]

Did you enabled Fastcharging via Kernel aduitor app when using Clarity. As Most probably,The dev didn't enabled it by default. Or check the current drawn while charging bia Ampere app in Your ROM. After 1500amp it will Heatup
