V3 Bluetooth
I too used the V3 tool to root but at the end my phone wouldn't recognize the Gear. I ended up wiping everything, used the V1 then the V2 and finally got the gear back to where I could use it. Did the OTA and all seems okay. Going to try an root using V2 instead. My question is once that is all successful what can I do different? Can I download a keyboard onto the Gear? As a NOBE where do I go to find a new ROM , find out how to flash it and then what I can do from there? I will apologize upfront for my beginner questions. Thanks

APK Apps aren't working?
I installed Nova Launcher and Flesky Keyboard and each time I try to use them on the Gear Live I get this message "unfortunately Nova Launcher has stopped". Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong or need to do to be able to use these apps on my Gear Live?
Did you have time to test it with the recent 5.0.1 update? I'd love to use your Utility to restore my watch to its factory state but I'm not sure if it would break (I know, there's always a chance).
Do you think I can try flashing the images without damaging it?
Used V3 of this utility to flash stock image after of temp rooting for data extraction. Now it won't pair with any phone anymore. No Bluetooth. Can't get adb to work as I can't authorize the computer to flash anything else.
Watch is a useless now. Heads up to others.
At leat I have an excuse to buy a Moto now
UPDATE: IT LIVESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
So I didnt know that the watch could go into fastboot with some custom taps and such. Did those, got into fastboot, used V2 toolkit and all is well now!!!
How to for others:
1. Hold the power button until the Gear Live reboots
2. When you see the Samsung Logo on the screen swipe your finger from top left to bottom right of screen twice while still holding power
Success!!!!!!!!!!
No Download
Hey all,
Am I the only one who is not getting a ZIP file when the download starts; the file that downloads is not usable. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Galaxy Gear Unauthorized
I am not able to pair phone with watch via Bluetooth after using this tool. I unlocked the bootloader but when I could not use the watch I decided to relock the bootloader and reattempt the steps again. Now I am getting (R3AF700JARM UNAUTHORIZED). I factory reset watched became a developer and enable ADB debugging, but I still cannot unlock the bootloader and still shows unauthorized. WHat is the next step
I cannot get it to recognize my watch
I purchased a Samsung Gear Live refurbished off amazon and it had Build Number = sprat-userdebug 4.4W.1 KGW42N 1387258 dev-keys installed. It will not update and I want to be able to put other watch faces on it. I heard that if you reset to stock google wear it would fix it.But I used your software v3 and installed adb drivers but does not recognize the watch?
Any help would be Great!!!

Superuser.apk in my Gear Live
Hello.
After using the Tool, I was able to restore my Gear Live, and get updates (Originally it comes with bad firmware, from bestbuy).
I only have one problem. After several updates, I have AndroidWear 5.1.1. I got OTAS from 4.4w, justo normally, but the process
left me with Superuser.apk installed.
I can't uninstall it, and if I try to run it, I get an error, and the apk closes.
Is there something I can do, to eliminate this app? I tried with temproot, but I can't access to original system folder in my Gear Live.
Can you, or anyone help me with this problem?
I flashed KMV78Ystock.zip. In theory, it is a stock rom dump. I can't see the Superuser.apk, if I mount the image.
I just want my Gear Live factory restored. I hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance!

Gear Live watch only shows TWRP menu from team win
So i am not a programmer and don't know most of this stuff, I just followed instructions. I installed root, recovery, and system images through cmd prompt. I lost bluetooth and other functionallity but it seemed to update to a newer version. I then attempted to flash TWRP which put my phone in a state that only shows the TRWP menu. I have restarted, rebooted, tried installing other images but i really don't know what to do. Can anyone help, Please!
I have a note 5 phone
watch is reconditioned, it was in some kind of mode that is not the original factory mode, many features were not working or not there. that is why i started this process.

I just got my Moto X 2014 Pure Edition in the mail yesterday and now I've gone and tried to root it.
I had already unlocked the bootloader and then being giddy I installed android 5 since I wanted to try it out. From here, I messed up. I tried to root it using the Superboot method. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this was for the 4.4.4 build.
After flashing the image, I was able to get back into the OS, but I wasn't able to install apps or get to the home screen. I could still browse still open chrome windows, but I couldn't get to home. Next, I tried CF Auto Root, as that was built for 5.0. Executed just fine, but when I got back into the phone, I kept having the same problem. Now when I boot, It gets past the moto animations and then sits on the moto logo that looks like water. It just stays there.
If I try to turn off the phone, it just repeats this. If I put it into fastboot mode, it can act in there just fine. So I tried getting into recovery, but when I got back to the android on it's back saying "NO COMMAND.", I tried holding down up and power, just like everyone says. Doing this, though, reboots the phone normally and it goes back to the same problem as it was before!
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. I'm having a mild breakdown right now

Easiest thing to do is to go to:
https://accounts.motorola.com/ssoau...edirect/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
and log in then find the right link for Moto X Pure Edition and click the "Request Firmware" link. When you get the email giving you access to the link then following the instructions for flashing it via fastboot.

Thank you so much for this! I had eventually found a fix through a lot of tinkering, but thank you for replying with the link for the firmware. I was looking everywhere for it!
I had the same issue. I have no idea what I did to cause it. Eventually I found a fix somewhere to fastboot into twrp recovery from the computer, and fix the file system. Then I flashed kitkat and updated from there.

Recovery image or fix?
can you guys post your fixes? I am stuck with the same issue and have been waiting for over an hour for Moto to send me the recovery image. Thanks!
Xtchico..look at solartrans guide to get on lollipop. You basically have to downgrade to 4.4.4...then you'll get the 5.0 ota ..then use the tools to unlock..root and install recovery.
That's what worked for me. I was stuck on the water ripple M .

This is exactly the guide that I used and the fix action which worked for me. Thank you sir for finding it! I'd been trying to find it to give him credit. It works wonders and I haven't had an issue since.
Rooted my phone, loaded my applications and tweaked it to my liking. Now all that's left is to activate it.
Hi, I just got my new phone yesterday, and I"m having issues actually turning the thing on. Yesterday, everything was going fine. Since I got the pure edition, I went ahead and unlocked the bootloader, and then ran the Auto Root program I found in the general section. After that, I installed some apps that I needed. I downloaded some videos to watch later, I downloaded some music, and then I installed AdAway.
Here's where I probably screwed up big time: I disabled some applications from the app picker (Help, E-Mail, and a few others). I was having some trouble with the Inbox app searching properly, so I re-enabled Gmail at least, but I left the others disabled. Then I connected the phone to my Coolstream Duo, which is a bluetooth audio device, and then went to sleep.
When I woke up, I was able to unlock my phone, but I unlocked it to only the back button available and Google+ on the screen. Nothing functioned, so I force powered off. Now I can't turn the device on, it either is stuck on the "Warning, unlocked bootloader" screen, or gets to the Motorola globe boot screen, playing half the animation before the screen goes black. Once, I booted and it got past all that to the "Android is upgrading" screen, and it optomized 38 apps, but then after it got to the unlock screen, the pattern wouldn't show up. I followed these factory reset instructions: https://motorola-global-portal.cust...detail/a_id/101072/p/30,6720,9197/reg/2380937 and they didn't seem to do anything. I also attempted to download the stock image for Android 4.4.4 but it said I wasn't allowed to access the file.
If anyone could recognize what I did wrong to my phone, that would be great, and if anyone could provide a link to a factory image of the phone so I can attempt to restore it, that would be awesome as well.
Sounds like flashing the 4.4.4 system image may solve your problem. Here is a link where you can grab the fxz without asking for permission from Moto.

Either. The only thing with rsd lite is that it does not like USB 3.0. Your computer will need a USB 2.0 slot.

Just got a update for my LG G Flex D950 from AT&T. I didn't think twice, and hit update. Now my phone will only go to TWRP. I'm using TWRP v2.8.6.0 any suggestions? All I've done is root it, it has the original ROM it came with.
mine is also soft bricked
I was not rooted and the update installed fine. Just curious what it was....
Edit:
Oh wait this explains everything

My mom, uncle, and I all have the same phone, the only difference is mine is rooted with TWRP, so something with it being rooted, or with TWRP has screwed it up, and I have no idea which it is
try the steps here. scroll down to the terminal commands and that will get you going.
http://www.androidayos.com/2014/10/0...download-mode/
(How to Fix bricked LG G2 stuck in Recovery after taking OTA update
If you have LG G2 rooted and installed with TWRP recovery then suddenly and automatic OTA update came around but then its too late that your phone just stuck in TWRP Recovery. If you bricked your phone after doing an OTA Update with root and TWRP installed and happens that it stuck at recovery. This can be fixed either by installing the official firmware via flashtool using the KDZ file but sometimes your phone can’t boot into Download mode and it won’t connect to the computer, so this could be a very frustrating situation.
Before doing anything else you may first try this, this has been reportedly worked on some LG G2 users at Androidcentral forum and thanks to the folks at XDA-developers for this workaround.
On your TWRP terminal command type this codes.
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
Then hit enter and reboot.)
I have the same problem. Rooted/TWRM and soft brick.
I get to terminal window, but no keyboard
tap on select when in terminal
---------- Post added at 05:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:05 PM ----------
That should open the keyboard
I don't have select, I have home, back and the icon that put me in the terminal window from the folders
Do you see this?
Full phone
Sonny beach, trying it now
Got it, now how do I get that software update to go away?
Your phone should keep the update... at least mine did
Mine didn't, in fact it just bricked again, because I accidentally hit the update again
Hi Guys, I have the same problem although I have CWM instead of TWRP. I got the D950 ATT version rooted on stock 4.4.2 and the updated came up on my phone yesterday but I kept on clicking remind me later. Until last night I noticed my phone was booted on CWM and when I tried to reboot, it just went back again to recovery. Also tried restoring from my backup, goes normally and completes but after reboot it just goes back to CWM again. I hope there is someone who can help coz I have pictures and files I need from it...

I guess you are right, although I did it via fastboot it still worked and got all my files back. Thanks for the quick reply. And by the way the update notification is still active, do you think I still have to unroot before installing the update or would it be ok not to unroot and just defrost all the bloatwares that came with the stock OS then accept the update? I am just afraid that it might brick my phone if I went through with it...
I'm still soft bricking twice a day, because they force the update when I'm not looking. If someone has a way to unroot or better get rid of that fota crap, I sure would like to know how

I just wish IOroot had a way to support the G flex on android 4.4.2 so we do not have to go back to JB just to root. At least from KK we only have to do this new software update, then root the device, install recovery and we are good to go. I guess that would be too much to ask right now on a low activity device like ours. For now all I did to stop the update nag, I froze the software update file from Titanium backup rebooted and now the nag is silenced for a while until we get news that it's ok to do the update on our rooted devices running KK.
Tip: When you receive your Fire 2015 tablet, don't setup WiFi if you want to install custom ROM (skip WiFi setup)
Why: They are still shipping with FireOS 5.0.1 and it will autoupdate to 5.1.1 as soon as it sees Internet connection (it doesn't ask and takes over tablet)
Why is that bad: Because it's easier to install custom ROM with 5.0 and still a pain/riskier if from 5.1.1 (as of December 2015)
Why is this method easier/safer: No need to root first, no messing with original ROM (can backup first), no need to enable Developer mode, no need to grant ADB permissions
Prerequisites:
- This method will not work if tablet has upgraded to FireOS 5.1.1 or higher, only 5.0.x works
- Need fastboot tools installed on a computer (Windows tools/drivers here if needed) or (Linux/Mac)
- Download TWRP Recovery here to same computer
- Download your new ROM/support files of choice to an external SD Card
- If on Windows, to keep things simple you might place fastboot command, Recovery image in same folder/directory
Install: Fastboot TWRP Recovery from computer, Install Custom ROM from SD Card
- When you receive Fire, don't power it on (or if you do, don't setup WiFi as it will autoupdate to 5.1.1)
- Copy your downloaded ROM image and support files to an SD card, then insert SD into tablet
- Boot tablet directly into fastboot (power button and volume up button)
- USB attach tablet to computer that has fastboot tools and TWRP recovery image
- Unlock and Boot directly into TWRP image from computer terminal or command line
fastboot oem append-cmdline "androidboot.unlocked_kernel=true"
fastboot boot TWRP_Fire_2.8.7.0_adb.img
- Takes seconds to transfer file then recovery should appear
- Optional but recommended: From TWRP, Backup Stock Amazon ROM to external SD card
- Factory Reset from TWRP Recovery
- Install ROM and support files from TWRP via external SD card
- Reboot, profit

Yes, am interested if yours came with 5.0 or 5.1.1. If you boot, dont setup Wifi (skip setup) or will autoupdate - it doesn't ask so be careful. Can then check version.

You don't need to root it with the above method. Just go straight into fastboot and launch recovery via computer as described, backup stock ROM then install your ROM (then flash or enable root in developer mode within tablet). I trashed a tablet trying to root it with current methods, which is why I came up with this method.

Gotcha. As soon as I opened it, I blocked OTA updates. Rooted/installed SuperSU, and backed up the stock ROM.
I'm currently running CM12.1 and it's working perfectly.
I did not like how it auto signed into my Amazon account once connecting to WiFi (with OTAs blocked)
Many thanks for this. I'm completely new to modding in any way, shape or form, so this is very helpful.
I have seen another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/orig-development/rom-cm-12-1-2015-11-15-t3249416) which suggests that running CM should be possible now with OS 5.1.1 (my tablet has unfortunately updated since shipping). I have also currently run the script contained within http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/general/root-playstore-busybox-optimize-flash-t3281804, and was wondering whether it would still be possible to follow the instructions here to install CM, or is it necessary to first restore the Fire tablet back to factory settings (if this is possible)?
Thank you in advance for any help!

I connected to wifi and the updates came through automatically. I hadn't read threads like this one beforehand unfortunately, so I didn't realise that would happen.
Sounds like Amazon is still shipping with 5.0.1 so this method can still apply for those who catch this thread before receiving/booting their tablet. What's nice about this method is you can backup original ROM before modding and don't need to root. Sounds like many have thrashed their tablet trying to root.
Just dont connect to wifi and your fine.
Amazon having a $40 sale, if you ordered one might not setup WiFi when first receiving - re-read first post why.

Just ordered 3 today ... Can't wait to tinker with it.
Thanks for the heads up regarding auto-update!
I've gotten 3 in the last week or so. One came from a small town up north (sorry, shipping details have disappeared from my history) with 5.0.1 and the other two came from Ft. Worth, TX with 5.1.1. I too think everyone should enter recovery immediately when the thing arrives, and then fastboot boot twrp.img to see what happens. I was hoping that if I declined the "Link to my Amazon Account" option, they would pull an older one from stock. Looks like I'm 1 for 3. All 3 have some issues (stuck pixels, backlight bleedthrough) so I'm getting a 4th one from Ft. Worth tomorrow.

Does this still work, or behaved differently with 5.1.1 ?
I'm waiting for my units to make their way to me. Really interested to see what your experience with the 5.1.1 units.

My 4th one came from Ft. Worth. I immediately booted into recovery mode but could not boot TWRP. Obviously this turned out to be a 5.1.1 system. If this had been a 5.0.1 system, the first full boot would have been to CM rather than to stock. So if 5.1.1 is installed at the factory you can't get your TWRP on this way.
Just got mine today it had 5.0.1 creating a backup now
Hi,
where can you download twrp from their page?
I see their list of devices but none of them says fire 5th generation.
