Hello,
It shame Huawei, that in the flagship phone there are some stupid bugs!
When I receive message from whatsapp, sms etc. I feel the vibration! But I disabled any vibrations in options menu!!! Help me.
Huawei P20Pro with new update.
I have the opposite problem - whatsapp doesn't vibrate when switched to silent mode.
Ok, problem resolved.
Deep in the options you can find another (?) vibrations - I dont know why, its stupid:
settins > applications.. > alerts > [apps list] each of them has alerts option

Does anyone have a vague idea of why the Black v10c Italian does not vibrate when I receive my messages? I tried the silent and nothing but the normal profile.
I did some testing. With the vibration function calls with any profile.
Anyone want to see if it has vibrating feedback when you receive messages?
Or if there is a way for system-wide change the vibration. Thank you.
i confirm, on 10C with vibration set on ALWAYS if i receive a call i have vibration. when i receive an sms it won't vibrate -.-
Fixed
Fixed. If you can serve others.
You need to go into messages then with the button in the settings menu in the menu that opens, and go almost to the end and plug in the notifications settings to vibrate.
This will activate the vibration for both the SMS and email.
What in fact is not at all intuitive.
Hello
Good morning fellas, I have an "issue" that is driving me nuts and I hope someone here could give me a solution for this, I will try to explain:
Since Android 5, the notification system has changed and I hate it!
I always (almost) use my phone in "vibrate mode", I like it to vibrate ONLY when I receive a call or SMS. Messaging Apps like Whatsapp/Telegram, I want the notification LED to work,
for that to happen I need to set a notification tone under Settings > Sound and Vibration, but if I set any sound for this and the phone is in vibrate mode, all the sound is converted into a vibration,
even if the options in Whatsapp, for example, was mutted with no vibration and sound at all... with these settings, the LED works like a charm, but the devil vibrations happen aswell and if I set a notification sound to none, the vibrations vanish, but the LED stops working too... it is really boring, the Whatsapp configuration SHOULD (in my opinion) override the System configuration...
I guess you already understood what I want: phone in vibrate mode, with no vibrate in whatsapp, only LED... (I already tried to block vibration permissions for whatsapp with a 3rd party app for rooted devices with no positive result, because it is a system "bug")
The wierdest thing is: before the update to Oreo, it was working the way I want, even with the crap notification system!
That's it... sorry about my english and thanks for now
Thing is, in some Oreo roms for some reason I had to give permission manually to each app to use LED light...
Use VibraFix from play store (root) if you want to disable all vibration, give WhatsApp permission to use LED light and override do not disturb = no vibrations but LED works.
I live in Canada, and received my first emergency test notfication (very annoying) . I have all notifications unchecked but the top option emergency alert always receive is checked and cant be removed. Does anyone now how i disable this feature. Do I need to root and disable a specific service etc. Thank you.
Hello, go to Settings-Sounds-more Sound settings.
Scroll down to Mobile Broadcast and disable there.
The top box I can not uncheck. Enable notifications. I still get test notifications.
i have a mate 20x and the same problem. emergency alerts do not seem to disabled. I have everything unchecked in cell broadcasts and STILL get the alerts. I finally managed to turn off the alerts.
In mate 20 go to : "settings", then "apps". Under "apps" find "cell broadcasts". Disable the "SMS" permission there. This will stop the alerts.
Hi guys, i have a notification problem with mi 8..the LED works on 70% of the notifications but 30% does not let me see, I noticed that there is a connection between many notifications and few, when I receive maximum 2/3 most of the time the LED lights up, while I get more than 3 starts not to light up anymore ... it's not always like that, but for many times yes. Obviously I also tried the wipe cache and dalvik, but nothing...same issue with 10.0.6 and last 8.10.25 (xiaomi.eu). On application settings and led notification setting is all "ON", no power saving in these apps. Anyone can help me?
Update:
After several tests I found that the same problem is repeated for the vibration when notifications are received, sometimes it vibrates sometimes not.

I think you are having your first encounter with MIUI's default features. Go to Settings > Installed apps, select the app or apps for which you want to "fix" the notifications for and tap Notifications. From here, select the feature or features you want to receive notification for and how to receive them (Notification light, vibration, etc). When I say features for this, well every app has it's own set of different components to notify you of. For example, Facebook has several options to choose, lets say you only want vibrations and LED for comments and friend requests, you can set those to only provide the notification light or vibrations when you receive them. Gmail on the other hand has few options relating to the types of notifications you receive (since obviously it's only related to email and there are no comments or friend requests on it). Each app has it's own set and you can control what or how you get notifications. If you are still seeing that you are not getting notifications on time or so on, then the default power saving feature may also need adjusting. Go to Settings > Battery & performance > Choose apps and select the app or apps you want to "fix" the notifications for and select the option called "No restrictions". The default setting is useful for saving power, but this also stops certain apps from displaying notifications as soon as you get them (there is a delay which I still don't know if it is random or if it is every hour, few hours or so). Not all apps abuse your battery, but of course some do, such as Facebook which can be annoying if you receive lots of comments, uodates, etc.

es, the problem is that I have already set all this that you tell me, but many times loses the LED notifications / vibration too often. Could you make me a screen of the notifications app installed section of ex. whatsapp (which I always use) so I copy preferences? maybe there are conflicts, if you activate one thing the other does not work well etc. otherwise I do not know what to think ..
After updated to Pie, Mi A2 is not showing the incoming call screen or notifications.
The device is making the sound for the incoming call, but no screen or popup to accept this. Once the call is over, I can see the missed call notification.
The callers are thinking that I'm not picking the call intentionally.:crying:
Please help me to resolve the issue asap.
Thanks in Advance
Make sure that in Settings -> Apps & notifications -> Default apps -> Phone app, you have indeed the "Phone" app selected.
