Does anyone know if it is possible to...

I actually asked this question in the other xperia board but I thought I would ask it here again since I feel like it has more to do with ROMs that anything else and so maybe you ROM experts can help me out. and bear with be because I actually don't know what I am talking about
I flash my ROM once in a while but I hard reset pretty regularly and it is such a pain to go through everything single thing every single time. So I was wondering if it is at all possible to master reset my phone, install everything I want, go through all the settings and get them the way I want, Pretty much go through everything and making it perfect and then somehow getting a full image of my device and then flashing that image to my device so that whenever I master reset my phone then everything, or atleast almost everything is already good to go. Just hoping that maybe there was a way. thanks everyone
btw i'm not rom master... but I know what u mean. Just insert ur cabs and regs... flash... take a drink... u got it !!! ...Enjoy. Bye !

[Q] Disable Hard Reset

I would like to write simple security app for my phone, that wouldn't allow manipulating with mobile after it is ordered to enter disabled mode. I thought about it, and there are 2 things needed to be done. First I'll have to disable screen - not a hard task, but secondly, I need to ensure anyone won't be able to hard reset phone until mobile have disabled state. Normal reset won't be a problem, I plan to start that security app right after the phone powers up and load windows.
If the phone won't respond to commands and to perform hard reset(which would allow bypassing app by wiping it), phone is useless to anybody.
So if I want that to work, I need to disable hard-reset option by any means, but not disable whole phone. It got to be able to power up so app can again run and undo all changes. Is there any way to do that and don't break anything?
I've seen similiar app to what I want build, but it disabled phone totaly, so even after recovering it, it was unusable. That is where I want to improve, so I'd be glad if someone could help me.
i know nothing about mobile programing, but got some though regard what you want to achieve, you may need a customized password protected bootloader.

hey, this sounds like a cool task. I can help with the SPL modification.
you would also want to protect it from reflashing with another ROM.

I think it might be just enough for now If we could password protect our systems from being wiped/flashed, but as I read, this wasn't possible. I'm not sure if times changed, but with android and win7 becoming popular, I doubt that anyone will take an effort and I don't know enough to make it by myself...

This will be cool app .
I think what cmonex said may help by securing SPL itself, to start with.
Thanks.
Disable Hard Reset?
I think someone has already done that - and sent it to me in a virus in an MMS. My phone keeps wanting to "Power Off". If I respond "Yes", it immediately restarts. If I respond "No", it wants to "Power Off" again after a couple of minutes. The phone doesn't respond to the power button. I can't perform a hard reset.
I've been trying to find a copy of the shipped ROM to try reflashing it, but none of the links to the Australian Telstra ROM (2.31.841.6) seem to work. Can't seem to find one ANYWHERE?
This is driving me CRAZY.
Is there any OTHER way of doing a hard reset (eg while connected to PC?)
PS Oddly enough, it seems that while the phone is connected to the usb port of the PC, it DOESN'T try to power off! - Whoops, cancel that... "Power Off" dialog just came up!

[Q] Wifi Error - Continuosly switching on/off

Hello guys, it all started with not being able to connect anymore to my wifi and so (among other reasons like clearing the memory, the cache and just startin' over clean) i decided to factory reset it.
Since then if i try to turn on the wifi it just keeps on switching on and off. I can;t really turn it off permanently either cuz it's gonna turn on again but not stay on.
And doing so (turning on wifi) really slows down my phone it's like going in slow motion and the only way to fix it is a factory reset (after which, of course, the Wifi is set to default to Off and stays like that if i don;t try to turn it on again )
If i don't turn it on the phone works perfectly, no bugs no nothing. Actually it does have a 'glitch', it doesn't let me install the Androzip app...for some reason, no idea if that's helpful but that's what it is.
I really hope it's not hardware cuz i don't have warranty, what ever idea or advice u might have will be much appreciated.
Thank you
Common guys, really no idea? If u guys don't have a clue about what could be wrong it says pretty much about my chances of getting it fixed..
I would like to try to flash it with...some software...i don't follow up on the existing mods out there.
I would like to know what is the latest known with no bugs, or at least no bugs with wifi and/or mobile data connectivity cuz that's what i want to test.
And, also, i' d appreciate some pointers on step by step instructions, how to flash it...if i need any drivers installed, what programs to use, how to use. I'm sure there has to be something like this around but i don't know where to look.
Thank you very much...

GPS Wont turn off

I know this is in the wrong forum but you never get an answer in general, so im asking for help here please.
basically im after a way to force GPS to turn off, through terminal with root permissions or somthing to that effect as i cannot for the life of me get GPS to turn off!! i untick gps in settings menu, it unticks, i back out that screen and go back in and its still ticked for gps on. and the power widget doesnt even do anything when i press to turn off gps.
i know that a factory reset will probably sort it but ill do that as a last resort, i just wondered if there is a way to force it to turn off.
but linux commands i have no idea about as i imagine it could be done through terminal??
any answers are greatly appreciated, as you can imagine my battery is dying pretty rapidly now with minimal use

have you tryed leaving the gps checked off and then rebooting the phone and see if its better after the reboot
yeah i have tried all them type of scenarios with no joy. its like it needs to be forced off with su. thats the only thing i can think of, just i dont know the commands necessary
I know it's been a while since this thread has been opened but did you ever find any solution for this? I have exactly the same problem and even factory reset didn't help. I'm on stock rom and not rooted, but I think somehow I'll be able to root this device.

Yes it is new in 6.0. There is section in Developer Options to make it permanent but it does not stick.
