Hi all,
I factory reset my phone, and when I tried to restore my tasker data, I found out that I had made the wrong kind of backup. Some months ago, I created a <TaskerData.txt on my Google Drive, and from what I see, it contains my tasker profiles and tasks etc.
However, I don't know how to restore it. A three year old post told me to save it as .xml but Tasker does not accept it when I try to import it. I also tried renaming it to .prj.xml, but then I got the message 'a project with that name already exists'.
t took me a REALLY long time to create the task, and I am not able to replicate it now
The xml file can be found on drive.google.com/open?id=0B3vpU2RTv0PSdUJMQWhLZ2M4VU0
Please, could anybody help?
Wait, I found the solution myself... Just copied the various projects and tasks out of the xml file into new files with names ending in prj.xml and tsk.xml... And now I can import them one by one.
Thanks anyways!

You basically need to create a provisioning XML. You can find a great program HERE that includes a tool called Makisu. It can create the XML for you, and the SASHIMI program can import it.
If you want to create your own XML to accomplish this (you can still use SASHIMI to import it.....or UC), then check the EMAIL2 CSPs section of this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1897000&postcount=3
And next time, you should probably search for yourself......and save US the trouble.
Hi all
I was wondering how many people here would like to have some sort of way to build an xml which upon completion of a ROM update (which for some us are only day's apart) would change a load of settings to what we want for them
this is just a concept at the moment and i would like to work with someone or the community as a whole to produce a program to do this
the concept i have is as follows:
a simple windows exe Window which has inside it drop down menu's for all of the settings possible (cleartype/text size/regional settings/time zone/notification settings) fields (username for email/password/server addresses/screen name)
and if possible, something to allow us to drag and drop CAB file's into a window which would then also package up the cab's into a folder and spit out/generate the relevant SDCONFIG.txt file
is this at all possible? is there much interest in this?
I can go through and try to find as many of the settings possible and attempt to perhaps find the relevant registry settings even
i would really like to get the ball rolling with this, im sure it could work really well, not only on the raphael, but also on other devices perhaps
please post any interest on this project/concept here and i would really like to do something about this, im about to go and figure out the best way to even code this, however my coding knowledge is about zilch.lol!
.PROVXML files are the ideal place for last minute configuration changes. I'm just starting to explore this avenue and I've found tremendous flexibility in what one can change.
Have a look at the following information ... right from the source
Provisioning Using a ROM Configuration XML File
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb737254.aspx
Configuration Service Provider Reference for Windows Mobile-Based Devices
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms889539.aspx
There's also some excellent thread on XDA ... you'll have to do a bit of searching for them.
HTH,
have you looked at oemizer?
Assume this is the one you mean: http://tiermann.net
... takes the fun out of doing this the "manual way"
Cheers,
I don't use it personally. I came across it when I was learning with my M3100 (Hermes) and it provided a few useful insights at the time when I disected what it had created. I found a few problems and don't use it, but it seems like a similar attempt to what the OP is trying to achieve.
many thanks for the replies
im just looking into the oemizer that was posted and see how that works, however, i get the impression that its for rom cooking
Hi duke_stix,
That's where it's often used ... although, I have come across some posts about utilities that can re-initiate Provision XML files already present on the device or new ones placed on an SD card.
*EDIT* - Some examples
DotFred's Task Manager: http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
HTCustom: http://shadowmite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2231&p=7890#p7890
Cheers,
I have not seen anything that does exactly what you suggest, but things to look at that are maybe related include
Sashimi
tier-autoinstall (or something like that)
They run the files but don't create them.
You can always just export the reg values and then import them after you flash...
or use a reg to xml program to add it to SDConfig
I'm working on a new app right now that might have the potential to cover what you're asking for, but the exact features necessary to pull off at least a part of it won't be available in the first release. Keep an eye out on the D&H forum in anywhere from a week to two weeks when I post it up there.
So I'm looking for the file in the phone that would normally contain the contacts..
But it just now occured to me, that file might be totally gone.
So my next action will be to save a new contact and go looking for the file that is created.
Then I intend find the same spreadsheet type of file in my Outlook and drag it over to the phone.
...just looking for some input on whether this will work or not. Or, if I am going to go about this wrongly some input on the correct way to do it should be cool. 8)
For clarification, Active Sync is actually working (sort of), only, there is no result. I don't know how the contacts got deleted in the first place. I was installing different clocks and a 'background on all tabs' and the 'no curtains' cab...
I'm googling still (have been for an hour) and digging around in Total Commander looking for those files
Thanks
Mitch
Did it.
Because of the knowledge in these forums, my phone has skyrocketed from supercool to the ULTIMATE tool for communication (and a couple of games ) and even looks awesome...
I'm no developer or programmer or even any kind of support tech, but in case someone searches and gets this thread I'll say how I did it...
I downloaded this
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3a-b7d0-4b16-b8af-5a6322f4fd01&displayLang=en
Its a 'personal files' backup program for outlook.
I'm pretty sure you have to close outlook and restart the whole computer.
I'm not sure if that is exactly what it took to do it, as I was changing the settings for connection/active sync a lot, but I have a feeling it is because I finally got a program that said the microsoft outlook backup thing wanted me to restart the computer. After that, my 127 contacts were back in my phone.
phew
Hi there,
i searched the forum for a while now for a problem that every now and then pops up for me after reflashing. I'm searching for an automatic way to assign my own thumbnail graphics on the sense internet tab.
I use the manual way sometimes after flashing, but it is not satisfying me, because it takes lot of time to copy the files, rename my original files to the newly created ones and copy them back. So most of the time i don't use the icons...
Yes, i know that the pics have to be 512x512px PNG Files, and i also know that they are stored under Windows\Thumbnails .
I'm searching for where the information for the lookup of these pics (for example {2B1EE4E4-651F-D4DC-708B-DB1319CA381E}.png) is stored. I neither found it in the registry, nor in the filesystem as plain text. I copied the whole file system to my pc and did a in-file-search.
For me there are now to last possibilities where to find them:
Theyre stored as hex values in registry or in filesystem, so that a normal textsearch is useless or
theyre stored in a database file.
If someone has an idea which file it is or if theres another possibility i would be glad to hear it. It makes me crazy that we can change EVERYTHING on our wm-devices since years, but something like the bookmark icons (whch is significant for me) is so hard to find
best regards, Puckmeister
Are you looking for "Custom icons" or just a snapshot of the webpage? I know that if you save the favorite in opera 9/10 and open the favorite from inside opera (from the favorites menu) you will then see the screenshot of said favorite in sense.
Hello just wondering if anyone knows of a way to change the names an xperia t saves its photos as, each time I use syncme to backup my photos to the pc, then delete the photos on the xperia it starts using dsc_0001 dsc_0002 and so on again, which then causes problems with repeated file names.
On my old nokia I could set it to use the date as photo file name. Is there something along these lines I could use for the xperia?
Thanks
This is my problem too...
I think that they exists a lot of application which solve this problem. Try to see this:
Code:
http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/13954/how-can-i-change-the-naming-convention-of-the-stock-camera-gallery-app
Or other solution is bulk renaming all files in PC.
Cheers for the help, I couldn't find a solution that would do it simply on the phone so decided to just use this program http://www.digicamsoft.com/softnamexif.html on the pc which instantly renames the picture to dates. Perfect, job sorted
Cheers
