Hello,
I'm fairly new to Zooper, but I'm trying to somewhat recreate this clock. But, I'm struggling as to how to get the hours (1-24) within the boxes (or are they all put there manually, one by one?), and a bit unsure about the sunrise/sunset approach.
Thanks a lot for the help!

Long time lurker, first time poster... I have been learning a lot really fast about customizing different aspects of the eris, but what I have been really searching hard for is a way to customize certain components to add to an already great rom. Right now I am running Eris_Official_0.8.1T2 btw. Anyways what I am really looking for is something like this forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654852 Mostly the Launcher is what I really want to change but to be able to tweak everything else would be great too. If someone knows how to do this or can point me in the right direction to maybe even learn how myself I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
unzip the rom files
system/framework/com.htc.resources
once in there go to
res/drawable-port-mdpi
the file named common_app_rosie_navbar.png
is the launcher, and thats the main thing u need to edit.
and also go to
system/apps/rosie.apk
one inside the apk go to
res/drawable-normal-mdpi
and
drawable-normal-port-mdpi
edit those to your liking
Wow I feel dumb now lol... Ive been poking around in com.htc.resources for a couple days now and completely overlooked that... Thanks alot... Only question I have now is how do I remove the word phone that overlayed on the launcher? I would post a screenshot of my home screen but since im a new user its not allowing me.
Thanks for the help
well I uploaded a photo to my album so if you feel like checking it out just go to my profile... Im starting to like the phone (icon and word) over the orb but if anyone knows how to remove the word for future reference please let me know... I am also trying to find out how to change the status bar's clock color, which searching around has brought me to editing the services.jar or services.odex file but Im still uncertain on how to do this. Any input would be great.
Im going to sound like an idiot, but i can't open the apk to edit, im missing something.. help?
Right click and open with winrar or 7zip. Once you have edited the images you will have to resign either the .apk or the rom. Depending on if you are editing the whole rom or not. Hope I was able to help
hey, i've been screwing around pulling .apks from /system/app + /framework...and pretending i'm some hardcore themer or something...lol anyway...
firstly sorry for my lack of correct terminology...i only learnt how to use adb properly a few days ago and am very green when it comes to all this stuff.
i've managed to pull some pngs from com.htc.resource.apk which correspond to the main part of the sense/rosie interface (ie the buttons at the bottom of the home screen).
All i have been looking at doing is editing the colours of these pngs to add slight customisation..for now.
After editing i pushed com.htc.resource.apk back to my hero and hey presto it worked...nice new coloured interface (just the bottom of the homescreen, not everything like i've seen in some themers work and metamorph themes) but alas i came across a MASSIVE issue:
I lost the ability to sign into my google account and sync my contacts!!!!
I tried again and had the same issue...very strange i thought seen as i was only editing images...but i know computer systems can be temperamental...
so does anyone know what i'm doing wrong? possibly how i can fix this issue? it's been bugging me for at least 24 hrs and i'm sure there must be some easy fix. at first i thought it could be something to do with signing the files, but as far as i'm aware as i'm only playing with pngs no signing has to be done...correct me if i'm wrong.
I'm using villain rom 10.3 at the moment...if that makes a difference to whatever answers i'm hoping to get.
I've attached an image oh my status bar so far. i'm hoping to make a corresponding rosie/sense button thingy interface in the near future...
all help is GREATLY appreciated and i'm happy to share any "work" that i've done with anyone..so don't be shy.
Cheers
hey bro! i was playing around with the htc.com.resources.apk too! was trying to edit the lockscreen to a different style but too encounter the exact same problems as you faced!
apparently this guy, odin13 in his post
"clear sense lockscreen for Cronos 1.7.1"
managed to edit the htc.com.resources.apk without any facing any problems like us. im actually using his edited htc.com.resources.apk for clear lockscreen right now..
Cheers for the reply, bit of a flummoxing problem. I'll try an find odin and see if he can help!
Please anyone else feel free to help me here :-D
Hi guys,
Sorry for my late response but i just noticed the msg i got...
I'm really sorry but i really can't help you with this problem.
You should better ask it in the Villain forum since i'm no developer or some like that.
The boyz at Villain will definately be able to help you out with this or at least they can tell you what's going wrong.
The 'trick' with lockscreen is something i read once in a post ( can't remember which forum though ) so it's not even something i will take credit for.
Good luck bro and srry again for the late response!
hoi,
odin
Hey thanks for getting back to me man, greatly appreciated. Those boys at villain did solve it, i think it was a combination of pulsar & ultimately shen who sorted me out.
For stuff like the lockscreen and sense interface you need to create an update signed zip file and flash that way. no more loss of contacts which is great!
Happy days!
I use watchmaker and love it. One issue I am having is certain faces have color settings (color for the hands, color for the text, color for the markets, etc). It seems that after setting the colors just the way I like it, within a few hours the colors reset to the default settings.
Does anybody else have this issue and does anybody know how to get the colors to stick?
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers,
B.D.
It depend on how that specific watchface is being build. You better start building your own face, with the desired colours and that will not reset itself .

Not really helpful in answering my question, ro_explorer. I know building my own would allow the watchface to be styled more to my personal tastes without requiring my question be answered, but I do like faces others have created with their personal scripting and sometimes these faces are locked and I do not have the time to recreate them. As such I'm asking a specific question about watchmaker and how it operates. I would ask that you please do not act condescending and pedantic in answering a specific question about a specific program in the future.
Sincerely,
B.D.

I had the same issue with one watch face I have been using. I ended up solving it when I found a file that configures the defaults for the watch face. I edited the file and changed the variables for the colors and other settings to the way I wanted them to be so when it resets, it goes back to how I want it.
I assume that you could maybe do something similar. On my phone the location of the file was:
/sdcard/BeautifulWatches/scripts
It was just a matter of opening the text file and then changing the values for the variables. Then going on the watch and removing the watch face and resending it to the watch from watchmaker on my phone.
Nx248, thank you. I will explorer the scripts used to try to track down the colors I want. This is helpful. Wish the watch/program would remember the colors though and save me the time in tracking down the script implementation.
Thanks again.
Cheers,
B.D.

Please don't be an ass. My advice was a real one and I'm sticking to it. If you want to have something that suits your specific needs, with the specific look, the ONLY WAY to achieve it is to build it yourself. Do not expect others to deliver the perfection for you.

And I'm convinced 100% that you sent that wish to the developer as well ...
If you really want to find out more about the inner workings of a certain software/platform, or to add useful things to it, the easiest way is to contact the developer.
My recommendation is to stop complaining and actually do something to fix your issue. Do not bash on the ones who are trying to share with you their ideas.
ro_explorer,
If there were an option you would like to see on your car would you build a car yourself, or reach out to see if anybody else had implemented the solution. Your responses ARE condescending and rude in the way you come across expecting people to have infinite time to do this. Maybe you have the time to explorer building this yourself but I have other more important things to do which is why I posed the original question.
To quote you, 'don't be an ass. '
I have found a number of people who have offered useful help on these forums and still contend your 'advice' does not address the original question. I would contend that you need to read the questions people post and not write out an answer just to up your post count or 'prove' what a smart ass you can be.
This is the last post I will make on this subject.

I'm an engineer and a tinkerer .... I'm ALWAYS implementing my own solutions in ALL technical fields that I understand. I also help others and try to put seeds of creation in everyone else ....
If I ever had to ask for stuff I always asked the producer.
I hope this is answering your concerns.
Other than this I'm really sorry you are sensitive to a level to consider my comments as rude ...
Good luck in your endeavour ... If I can help you again, I will ...

Hi nx248,
I tried changing the script on the phone and resending the watchface to the watch but found that since the script had already been transferred to the watch previously I had to edit the script on the watch.
I accomplished this by adb into the watch and pulling the script to my computer, editing it, and then pushing the script back on the watch to the /sdcard/BeautifulWatches/scripts directory. Alternatively, I think I could have pulled the script from my phone, edited it, and pushed it to the same location.
In any case, I edited the watchface variables so that the default position in the array corresponded to the colors I wanted, which is working.
Thanks for your help. :good:
EDIT: Just saw that you had stated I should delete the watchface from the watch. I don't know how to do this, so I will have to educate myself.
I read the Watchmaker forum and found that if you enter the "change faces" screen on the watch under Watchmaker (usually press at one of the main watch positions - default to 3 o'clock, but can be set to 6,9,12 o'clock) and swipe up on the face you wish to remove, it is removed from the watch.
Cheers,

Hi, firstly I just wanna say I'm completely new to android studio & coding. I recently began building my first app & feel like my head is gonna explode
I've tried searching online for an answer to my question but couldn't find anything related, so I thought I'd post it here and see if any of you guys could help me out.
So I spent all of last night trying to create a splash screen and login page for my app, which I still haven't completed but thought I'd get ahead of myself and prepare for the next steps and potential issues I could encounter.
I want to create a circle image next to people's names which they can click and change with a different image (not on their phones device but within the app) just a simple image such as the letter from A-Z which are different colours. I have no idea how to do this or if it is even possible? Sorry if I am not explaining myself clearly but any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

best resource for googling all coding questions is stackoverflow.com
i.e., related to your posting: google for "android click image change background resource stackoverflow"
Hey guys,
I am new here and excited to try to design my own watch face on my Gear Fit2. I am looking to a way transform the time into text (i.e. One, Thirty-Two) and I am not sure how to replace the numbers of Digital Clock on Gear Watch Designer.
I've already searched prior creating this thread and I couldn't get anything (maybe I wasn't searching the right thing?) I am sorry if this has already being posted before.
Any tricks and tips will be much appreciated!
TIA
