Kogan Agora Tab

Hey guys, just saw a mini-review for this tab in the tech section of my tv guide:
http://www.kogan.com.au/shop/7-inch-tablet-pc-android/
Its made by Australian company kogan (known for making LCD tv's).
It sports a capacitive touchscreen (only 800x480), android 2.3, a 1 Ghz Arm Cortex A8 based processor, 512 mb of DDR2 ram, a HDMI output, a micro sd and mini Usb input, wifi, accelerometer, and a 2.0 megapixel front facing camera...
all for only $152 AUD (usually $189 AUD)...
basically, i just wanna know if you guys think this'll challenge our nook's current title of the best cheap tab?
EDIT: it also has a built in mic

Nah, I think for this reason alone people are just not going to want to buy it. 800 x480 on a 7in screen? Heck no, that's just gross This is the only problem these cheaper Tabs have... horrible screens. I wish I was a tech junky that knew how to replace screens xD
no gps, no compass ... no care.
I bought the NC to see if I liked Android... now I have an android phone too. There is no way I'll buy another android anything without all sensors because so many incredible applications require them.

you know you can edit the build.prop to change the resolution right?
It has everything and the kitchen sink, but that is a pretty atrocious DPI, and the Achilles' heel on these cheap models tends to be the battery: we're talking 90min-3hours, typically. It's going to come down to just how capacitive that touch screen really is, how fast/stable the OS runs, and what you plan to do with the thing. If, like a lot of NC owners, reading is anywhere near the top of your list, that screen takes this tablet right off the table.

The build.prop can't add pixels that just aren't there.

[Q] touch-pad / display seperation !?

Hi
Is was hoping if someone could help me with something...
I have a Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and the touch-pad got broken but display is intact.
Someone told me that I cant buy only the touch-pad ( i think its called a digitizer too ...), that I need to buy a touch-pad with display in one piece.
So I wanna know If I can replace the touch-pad without removing my display which is intact.
Thanks in advance
Unfortunately the whole thing(screen n touchpad) is a single unit...I don't think u can buy it seperately.. try though
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
You can find only display+digitizer... i think this is because the display is amoled. I had a galaxy spica and I broke my digitizer, and i replaced it (without having to buy the lcd)
sorry mate for your phone

[Q] Display(AMOLED and LCD) compatibility in Galaxy S

Hi
My Galaxy S got a permanent screen burn-in after 6 month use.
After got a service, I think I got a LCD instead of AMOLED.
So, I'm wondering if galaxy s (i9000) can use LCD(probably for i9003).
Anyone know this? I'd like to complain about this.
Because, I bought Galaxy S to get OLED screen.
Thanks in advance.
anything is possible tho this sounds very unlikely to happen.
try to compare it to another SGS and see if theres a difference (and dont forget that a poor screen protector can change colors)
if u r still unsure u should send it to a lab to get it checked
Dude, believe me if you had your phone for 6 months and got a LCD display, you wouldn't be just thinking it wasn't AMOLED - you would have already sent it back for replacement. Just look at the display at a steep angle from all the sides and if it doesn't fade to white you've got AMOLED.
Would the amoled screen on the rogers vibrant s work on the T-Mobile t959 phone? I have the t959 with a cracked screen and can get the rogers phone with a bad internal SD for about 40 which is cheaper than buying a screen new and I know how to swap I just don't know compatibility anyone have an idea?
Can i putt a lcd on my galaxy s1 amoled version?
Touchscree iz broke, realy bad but still works.
So i need a new touchscreen.
And i cant find one without a lcd screen

[Q]Bigger screen on S6500D

Hi guys,i've managed to destroy my Mini 2 lcd screen. A new one it's half value of the phone at this moment .My question is that if i could replace the old screen with a new bigger one(maybe something with 4-4.5"). If i would do that i must change the touchscreen also. What do you think,it's this possible?

It is not possible because of phone size... Now change screen with same sized for Mini 2 (it is about 5$ at eBay without tools needed to replace it and about 20$ with all tools)
Here are some screens (with digitizer)

I know i must make a new case . I can replace my old screen on my own and i have from where to buy it .What i want to know is if it's possible to use a bigger screen than the old one,but i didn't find anything about this subject (using another screen except the original one ) at all . Would be something intresting to modify the phone because at this size it's pretty boring.

If im not mistaken, i think its quite possible IF you can find a display that is the same resolution as the Mini 2 and IF the contacts or whatever fits perfectly (ie: Flex cable fits bigger display).

Selecting an Android Auto Head Unit

I have been searching online everywhere and cannot find any good sites or tables that compare Android Auto units. I don't even know where to begin when selecting a unit. Can anyone help me? I have no idea where to begin. Thanks in advance!
I'm in the same boat I'm trying to find one for my sons car & have no clue which brand or mtcb/c/d to get..
I've been talking with someone from AVIN & they said the Avant 3 will be released in the near future but with a $799 US price tag....NO thanks
I'm looking for one that already has 2gb ram & 32gb internal storage I've only seen a couple of these but since the new roms have been released is there even a point in getting them..?
I've been banging my head for a few weeks now & need help deciding..
I have a guy on ebay that'll sell me a 7" Pumpkin KD-C0250 with kitkat for $220 US is this a good deal..?
Thanks in advance ! This site is awesome so much better than joying support..LOL
EDIT: The models I like has no dvd has the buttons on the front left side with SD & GPS slots
MUST pair with iPhone 5/6
Cid, I think we are talking about two different types of units. I think you're talking about straight Android head units, what I am looking at are Android Auto compatible units. Like these Pioneer units, for example: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/androidauto/
