Magisk, TWRP download with snapdragon/cortex? - Magisk

I couldn't find a tutorial for my Kyocera, neither for snapdragon/cortex. How do I download Magisk for my device?

It is as easy as clicking a link... There are no special versions provided for different devices/architectures.
Everything you need should be here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445

Don't patronize me. I couldn't find a way to do it. When I tried downloading both the file and the manager, the manager had a tutorial specifically about devices, and at one point said to download TWRP.
Please walk me through it. Sending me back to the page isn't helpful whatsoever.

Not trying to be patronising, it's just that generally it is that simple...
I don't know what tutorial you've been using, but any officialy available instructions aren't device specific.
And I am actually going to point you back to that page I linked previously because the step by step instructions for installation are right there, under "Instructions" (contents hidden on a normal browser, no idea how it looks in any of the forum apps).
If you're having problems with those instructions I would advice you to be more specific as to what those problems are. Much easier to help that way...

OP: How to download
D: Follow these instructions
OP: Don't patronize me
LMAO

The instructions on that thread that's linked will walk you through installation. You need to download TWRP, or some custom recovery. Generally, Magisk installation for the first time is downloading the zip file, booting into your custom recovery, installing the zip, and going on your way. The question, at first, would be: Are you already running a custom recovery, or is your phone stock recovery?

If you can point me to the exact file download (URL) I will attempt to mirror a copy. I'm not sure if I'd be able to leave it up, but surely I could do so just long enough for you to download the file.

Looking around, I'm guessing it's the following, most recently dated?
http://goo.im/devs/jcsullins/cmtouchpad/testing/cm-10.1-20131121-SNAPSHOT-BLUETOOTH-tenderloin.zip
I've mirrored a copy at the following location:
HTTP: http://www.rootfiles.org/pub/mirror/jcsullins/cmtouchpad/testing/
FTP: ftp://anonymous%40rootfiles.org:[email protected]/pub/mirror/jcsullins/cmtouchpad/testing/
If @jcsullins doesn't approve I'll take it down (and or happily grant him full write access). :]
Wow Thanks a million! Spent days trying all times of night and day to get this. It is, to me, the most stable thing for TP. Two months and hasn't had one issue. This is the newest version. Owe you big time. Don't know how you managed it. But darn happy you did.

I am guessing you have a bad download. I was struggling with a ROM and GAPPS update and both had the same error message while using TWRP ("Failed"). What program are you using to the download the zip? Seemed if I used ES File Explore to download it would always Fail. Seemed if I downloaded with my browser (in my case, Next browser) and made sure it did the download correctly, TWRP could correctly install the zip. You can also check the MD5 to make sure it was correctlly downloaded.
Hope this helps.

[Q] Cannot install null rom

Hi everyone.
First of all, i am sorry if my question has been answered somewhere. i have searched thoughout this and other sites and have asked in several threads, with no reply.
I have rooted my Gear (impactor) but my SU binary update just fails installation every time. Someone told me this is not fatal, so after 2 days, i tried the next steps and am able to load the null zip file, install it, but at the very end, with no error message, it reboots to download mode. everytime. at this point i have to use odin to load the stock recovery and start again.
No guide or comment in any thread suggests anyone has had this problem. As you can probably tell, this is all quite new to me, so I do understand that it could just be me doing something wrong, that others may take for granted.
Also, my null installation says i am installing onto a i9300 - is this normal?
1)How can i manually update the su binary (tried superuser, superuser fixer. busybox), and is that related to the rom not working?
2)Why does the installation get to the very end but then just reboot into download mode...?
I just want to be able to use this rom but nothing i try is letting me get past this stage. Any help would be appreciated massively.

Have you read the instructions ?
You need to flash the recovery first, then flash the rom. The rom is for THE GEAR, not your phone.
Right !!

Thanks for your reply.
I did read it, and i did follow it. Ive done almost nothing on my phone, and flashed the recovery(odin), moved the rom zip to the watch (adb or wondershare) - and then gone into recovery mode to install it.
Was this wrong? Or have i missed something important?

Can you Reinstall Stock Firmware on Amazon Exclusive R1 HD?

Just the question from the title. I just bought one. I can live with ads but not anyone's favorite. But before I start using it, can I simply reinstall it with stock firmware? If so is there some tutorial I can follow?

To return to fully stock , locked boot loader, stock system, recovery, out of box condition (V6.1)
You must be on old preloader so you can use sp flash tool to flash these partitons. You probably could put the images into a recovery zip also,
But that is not the way I did it so I dont have the info on it.
1. Verify you have access to flash tool.
if you do not have access will need to roll back with these instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/r1-hd/how-to/r1hd-update-6-6-bootloader-roll-t3491096
2. once you have spft access, download my o.o.b. package. from same link as above, click on the "click to show content" button.
3. unpack into one folder. Load scatter file into flsh tool. (DO NOT USE FORMAT DOWNLOAD ONLY)
I dont know of any reason to go this drastic of a restore but here you go.

[Q] Can't boot into TWRP and my phone got unrooted

Hello!
I have a Huawei Mate 9 (MHA-L29C432B190). Yesterday I tried to root my Phone to play Pokemon Go with fake gps. After I managed to root my phone, I couldn't boot into TWRP Recovery Mode anymore.
Because I still had some files I needed to flash I installed Flashfire from the PlayStore. I think after I flashed the newest Magisk version(The flash failed because of Error:1), my device got unrooted. But I think my device is still partly rooted because I can't get into Pokemon Go. Everytime I try to start it I get stuck the loading screen. So right now I can't flash anything to get my root back and I don't have the root to use alternative flash applications. I also tried to start return my phone to stock back with a update.app But it can't be installed. I also can't use "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" I always get " Writing 'recovery'...FAILED (remote:command can't be used/allowed)". And also after some reboots my oem unlock got turned off and I can't turn it on anymore.
I don't have any ideas anymore what to do. I thought I could root my device, so I could unroot properly with superuser. I tried some other application like KingRoot oder OneClickRoot but both of them don't have a rooting method for the Huawei Mate 9 yet. Btw I don't have a backup because of my naivety.
I hope you guys can help me . I appreciate any ideas
Thanks in advance

Either way I want a method to root my phone without some flash application or I want a way to return my phone to stock. Or a method to fix TWRP would be fine too.

That doesn't tell me anything. That just tells me that you tried flashing.
It doesn't tell me anything about exactly what you tried to flash or what errors you got when you flashed. I need more precise information to help you. Your simple answers aren't helping me understand anything about what you have going on with your device.
What tools have you used? What guide/instructions did you use? What files have you used? What errors did you get? What results did you get. What do mean "didn't work"? "Didn't work" can mean many things.
I might be able to help you fix your device but I can't fix ignorance.

First I tried to do a force upgrade with a "dload" folder with a update.app file on my sdcard . After booting into this upgrade mode by pressing vol up + vol down + power button my device starts to install the stock firmware, but after it reaches 5% I get the message "Error with installing" and a Link to the same site when you boot into twrp. This always happens no matter which file I use. Next I tried to do a normal upgrade by calling this number "*#*#2846579#*#*" (The dload folder is still on my sdcard). But when I start the software upgrade I get booted into twrp and like I said in my post, always when I try to get into twrp I get stuck on the "Your device is booting screen". This is what I tried and basicly every site on google is saying I should try to do one of these two methods
(Here a guide for example: https://www.getdroidtips.com/full-guide-install-stock-firmware-huawei-smartphone/)
(My file in my last try: https://www.getdroidtips.com/huawei-mate-9-stock-firmware-collections/)

Stock upgrades are not going to work if you are rooted and have TWRP.
Stock updates require stock recovery and an unmodified system partition(no root).

Best/Easiest way to update rooted P20 Pro?

There's been several updates I have been unable to install as I am rooted. Is there an easy way to apply updates? Can you unroot, apply updates, then re-root for example? I'm confused about what might be the way. I've seen the debrand thread. But you would still be rooted and therefore unable to apply future updates?
Any advise appreciated

Hurupdater is the simplest solution and I've never had any issues at all.
Did you rename the files correctly?
Did you download the correct files?
Did you put unofficial TWRP .IMG in same directory as the other files and renamed it?
So in total you should have 5 files in one directory. Then just flash hurupdater .zip file in TWRP. That's it.

Hu isn't hard I agree but it's certainly not easier then flashing one file.

Yea just flash no check recovery and it'll overlook the twrp recovery when you install the OTA update is system update.
Obviously has to be an official update but that's all the tinkering that's required.
No check is in the files listed in my guide from my Sig.
Funky huawei by far.
