Is OOS-5.0.0 firmware suitable for LineageOS 14.1?

That is, is that firmware package suitable for Android v7.1.2 or is it for v8.x?
No. Lineage 14.1 is Android 7.1 and OOS 5.0 is Android 8.

If the ROM is built to support on 5.0 FW, I'd thinl that all would go well.

A2 update to pie or not?

I am still using oreo because pie had loads of bugs.
So, I want to know whether July's Security Patch is stable enough to replace Oreo?
Will I be able to rollback to Oreo after the update?
Is there any patch for fingerprint bug on oreo cuz rest is working just fine.
Or should I go for Miui?

Security patches: eea vs eu

I am starting to be a little disappointed on the frequency of security patches for my eea mi 9... Is this substantially better on xiaomi.eu?
On the latest Xiaomi.eu we are running the September Security Patch
I think that Xiaomi is waiting for the release of Android Q to update the security patches
It's pretty odd that the mi9 SE has been sitting on MIUI 10.3 with july security patch for 2 weeks now while the mi 9 is stuck on june SP with miui 10.2. Basically the cheaper version is getting updated faster, so I guess they have some additional bugs to fix on the mi 9.
Well if they would fix idle battery drain I'd be happy with waiting...
Mi9 and I'm still on june security patch

Latest EU Q is supposed to be 9.8.22 (eu versions read as 2019.August.22, I've learnt that recently)
> Wiping is MANDATORY
> Backup using Titanium Backup only, not TWRP
> I suggest using TWRP 3.3.1-41 and using F2FS conversion in one go

Being a lazy guy I always do dirty flashes. Coming from Global Dev (9.6.27) I simply flashed Xiaomi.EU (9.8.10 Android Q) over. Since then upgraded to 9.8.15 and now 9.8.22. Runs like charm.
Of course, recommendation always is 'clean flash'. But this one can still do in case a dirty flash doesn't work, isn't it?
Cheers

Yes you can use it as a daily driver for sure, there a few minor bugs but they doesn't affect your daily experience
I switched on another ROM only because I can't use the Google passwords autofill in third applications (outside of Chrome I mean)
Thanks All who replied. I am now running on EU Q ROM appears perfectLy stable and I love the enhanced dark mode that forces some apps without dark mode to look like dark mode.
As my boot loader was locked, unlocking wiped the phone so a dirty flash was not relevant or required

Unlocking my boot loader wiped the phone but glad to hear I can dirty flash future Q builds
It's quite obvious why this is happening. The Mi 9 is going to be one of the first phones in the world with Android Q, so it's obvious they are just developing for it, and stopped patching for Android Pie.
After all, this is a flagship, they will want to showcase Android Q on it as soon as possible.
I've got August security patch with 10.2.30 on EEA
Changelog of 10.2.30
