I am on android 9 and I don't know if this problem existed in android 8 as I updated immediately after I got the phone. When I lock my device for let's say 15-20 minutes and then open facebook messenger it says no internet, then connecting to internet and then it starts to load new messages. I have battery saver turned off as well as data saver. How to stop this?
same connections problems with messenger, waiting for nerwork message, fb app cant load some pages still loading circle, last time gboard cant load gifs and show no network connection, but chromne and other app loads properly. same on wifi and mobile data. clear apps cache helps but its weird. . i have instagram viedos promlem too, after few seconds video start pixelize a low quality. internet speed is ok about 30 mbits.

It takes about 5 mins or more to deliver the site to my phone. Hows with you?
Perfect here, pushes insta most of the time. Probably a server problem
It takes time (almost a minute) if I'm on EDGE, but is almost instant if I'm on wifi.
Almost instantaneous
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
hm takes lots of time on both Wifi and edge for me
any ideas how to fix it?
If you send alot of messages in a short period of time, google servers will throttle delivery for a few minutes. If you continually send messages to the phone on a constant basis the Google servers will automatically "schedule" delivery of your messages by grouping and pushing at generated intervals.
About 10 or 15 seconds here.
Sent from my Nexus One
For me it actually does not work. The only way it works for me is when I disconnect from whatever my internet service is (wifi or 3g) then reconnect again, then i would get it in about 10 seconds after the reconnection.
I have sent google about this problem:
http://code.google.com/p/chrometophone/issues/detail?id=67
almost instantly here as well, even when i have 2 bars for 3G
Just tested it over 3g and took 10 seconds for me.
And thats in AUS where we have slow internet.
well my internet is quite good, and im trying on wifi as well
has to be something software related, cant really see how the connection might be a factor for few KBs
maybe try to uninstall and reinstall the latest versions. but unregister your device first.
Chrome to Phone takes minutes for me as well... wifi and 3g... running CM6 RC1.... reinstalled, rebooted, etc, no dice. Disappointed it doesn't work as advertised....
stock FRF91 w/root soon as i hit the button its instant, few times took like 5 secs
i loved showing it off to my buddy that has a iphone 4 and the new voice commands!
If it takes forever, make sure you are not running an auto task killer. If you kill the messaging service, it kills the push connection.
i dont have a task killer
It's going to vary wildly based on server load at any given moment.
There's nothing you can do about it.
If you have problems sign out in the chrome plugin and sign back in. Thats all I had to do when it stopped working. Its almost instantanious on wifi and a few seconds on 3G.
Instant for me, try a reinstall.
Peronsally sometimes it doesn't work at all, then when I connect my N1 to my laptop i get them all at once. But when it does work, which it does 95% of the time, the result is almost instantaneous.
Hey all, I did not have much luck using the search. Tried to find other people who have had this problem. **Plus nobody responded in the General forum so here I am again. **
We have 4 ATT Tilt 2 phones in my department. All with the same rom, radio, settings, etc. The difference in the phones is that 2 of them were purchased about a year earlier than the other 2.
*PROBLEM* TWO of the phones (the newer purchased Tilt 2's) we are getting alerts for high data usage from ATT. Looked at the ATT data logs, sure enough they have high data usage, large amounts at odd times. like 20mb - 100+mb transfers in the late night early morning, during the day. Not good, it is all adding up quick with no suspect in sight. The 2 users with this problem, use the phone data less than I do for day to day tasks and I am way under the alert limit, its not something they are causing---some of these data periods are while the user is ASLEEP (and no, we do NOT use MS myphone sync). Its got to be a phone software or software compatibility with the newer Tilt 2 hardware or something. I tried a couple different ROMS, same problem. Right now we are all on Energy.RHODIUM.21684.Sense2.5.Cookie.sencity.Nov.0 8
Radio: 4.49.25.77 (best signal in our area) Michigan
Please help. Thanks to anybody who can provide some guidance.
sounds like it is connecting for something and not disconnecting. I have this problem sometimes when it connects to download my email and weather, it will stay connected all night and kill my battery by the time i wake up.
TRY THIS, CREDITS TO THE GUY THAT HAD THE TIME TO PUT THIS TOGETHER, NOT ME
Enable Auto Data Disconnect for Auto Email Downloads and Other Downloads with a Cab File
When you have auto email downloads enabled, data is not disoconnected after mail retrieval and thus your battery is drained much faster. Modify the following reg edit to have data disconnect after 60 seconds. You can test this by tapping on the notfification bar while downloading emails and watch the data connection close after idle for 60 seconds. Please note. Data connection will NOT auto disconnect if you have any HTC Sense auto download enabled such as Weather, Twitter, Stocks, Facebook or Time Sync. Please set these apps to manual download only. Please note that this setting has the possible effect of disabling simultaneous voice and data on some devices, even if you are on a capable network and signal. See Tip 70 for an app that works with even HTC data downloads.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings
CacheTime = 60
SuspendResume = should be blank. Delete "GPRS_bye_if_device_off" text.
VPNCacheTime = 60
Finally An Auto Data Disconnection That Works - Save Battery Life!
Download the following cab file http://www.commmgrpro.com/CommMgrPro...witch.V2.8.cab
You can set it to disconnect data after 60 seconds or more or less thus saving you battery. Read the thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ght=bandswitch
Tried and tested for over a 2 weeks on my HD2 and works perfectly. Use INSTEAD of Tip 33.
The only problem i have with this is that it kind of defeats the purpose of a smart/connected phone. Its just so strange that only 2 of the 4 phones have this high data use problem, and they were all setup by the same person.
But on the other hand, it would be a good test method for data usage before and after. THANK YA!

make sure your weather isnt set to download on its own because it will not auto disconnect.
other things like email and stuff like that will usually not auto disconnect either.
Ok we will try that and see what happens. Will report back

Have this exact same problem using the latest Simplicity rom. Nothing, not even the weather is set to auto update, and by and large I no longer even use the phone save for 2 or 3 phone calls a month. Yet, like clockwork, get data warnings.
I wonder if this has anything to do with it (SEEING THAT BOTH OF OUR USERS WITH THE PROBLEM WERE LINKED TO YAHOO MAIL ACCOUNTS! And not the rest of us)

That problem is not just on wp7 is happening on iphones too. so u better unlink those yahoo mail accoounts or put your setting for manual downlad.
I unlinked my Yahoo account and disabled auto update of Sense Weather, my data usage did go down, not that I care about it as I have unlimited, but was surprised at how much better battery life I now have.
Hey,
I have a weird problem with my One, I recently set up a yahoo mail account using the Sense mail but it would not get any notifications of a received mail, I would however be able to open up the email, refresh and see it's there. If I installed Y! mail, the notification showed just fine.
Other app notifications like Facebook Messenger and so on work alright, but even the weather, which is set to update every hour, won't do so automatically, unless I specifically enter the app and request the refresh manually. So I'm thinking it's a problem related to Sense-apps only, since I haven't had trouble with notifications/updates in other apps.
Another strange thing happens at times with Play Store and Youtube, when entering apps, it first says-"No connection, please retry" or something, and sometimes I have to press retry 2 times to get it to work, even if the wireless signal is full and displayed so in the status bar. The wifi is on at all times, so that shouldn't be an issue either..
Has anyone experienced something similar? The store I bought my phone from two days ago can't exchange it, but only send it in for repairs..
I Have the second problem with my HTC One , the play store is very slow and many times says " connection Timed out" but when i use LTE its fine , im not sure if ghis is related to my phone or my WiFi
after updating my lumia 625 to WP 8.1 beta im having notification problems with both viber and whats app... it seems like when my phone is locked it kind of goes into deep sleep and never gives any notifications for viber and whats app... after unlocking my phone i could sometimes see rush of notifications all at onece.. and sometimes i have to open the app to get the notifications.. its annoying... i bought 625 a week ago and immediately updated to 8.1 beta....its my first WP so im a bit confused.. am i missing something?? or this notification problems have been present from the beginning?? if any one could help i will be grateful as im very depended with those apps.... and people can seem to find me on time due to notification problem....
ps : there is no problem with GSM phone call and message.
Do you have a data plan? By default, WiFi turns off while the screen is off and the phone unplugged, so if you rely on WiFi for data then you won't get notifications until the phone is woken up, plugged in, or you change the WiFi settings.
Guys! SOLVED IT.
Push notifications doesnt work, because (I am almost 100% sure) all of you use Wifi connection only without SIM mobile data usage allowed. I think some guys thought at Microsoft that their phones will be used only with mobile internet packages or at places where there is always signal (sorry norwegians...). Friend of mine has a data package of a random size and she did not turn off data usage on the go, so she had always had the skype, viber calls and notifications at the moment they had been sent - also never understood my problem...
Solution: on Win 8.1 Lumia 532 go to Settings>Lock Screen, where you will see five apps to have rights to show detailed status when the screen is off. Select Skype, Viber, Whatsapp, whatever IM application, and you will be ringed once someone tries to call you via video or voice.
Tested on 532, gonna test it on wife's 550 after my shift.
Solution #2 (if you are not it the remote northern norwegian mountain region): buy at least the smallest monthly data package, when you run out the Mbs, the operator still gives you a small bandwidth that will enable you to get push notifications and also make calls when in WiFi area.
Peace!
I've always had trouble loading SOME websites on my XT1900-07... but lately I can't load like HALF of the https websites I try to visit. I can't login to PAYPAL... for example. Or if I click a notification from Twitter... the twitter post just doesn't load. In ALL cases the little loading circle just keeps spinning.
This wasn't a big deal before, because I could switch off WiFi and use my mobile data. (On mobile data it always works fine.) But now I'm OUT of Mobile data.
I have no idea what caused this or what I could do. My old phone (Moto X2 2nd generation) is on the EXACT SAME WIFI and it loads every page just fine. Same browser and everything. It's not a browser thing because Apps that run without a browser still won't load. And why does it work with mobile data and not wifi? Need help! QUick!
