[Q] Rooting I8190- XXAMA"3"

Hello Everyone,
I want to root my device (I8190XXAMA3), and I can't find any suitable root. It seems everyone just avoids this version, jumping from XXAMA1, 2 to XXAMB3 and to my sorryness XXAMA4. I have no Idea if any of the previous roots would work for me but I find that disturbing ,
Anywho, would some gentleman explain to me if these versions roots would work for me (and i precisely want to know if the I8190XXALK6 version would work, because I have already downloaded it :cyclops: ) or that i shoud install a prevous ROM version.
Another question please : Would the version that I will install have anything to do with the network operators that can be running one my device, or is it irrelevant ?? and would I be able to desimlock the phone when I root it or it still is necesssary to bother my wallet ??
Boy, that's a lot of talking !!
Thanks guys,
Greetings from a android-noob fella, and good luck everygeek.
seem like you have searched it at development section here is link for requested version flash it via odin 3,07 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2178346&highlight=xxamb3
THANKS,

[Q] Lots of confusion over kernel/recovery, Please enlighten me!

Hi guys,
I own an Xperia Z1(c6902 running 4.4.4), So I want to flash custom ROMS(PAC in particular) here's what I did:
1. Rooted using tr.apk
2. Backed up DRM keys
3. Unlocked bootloader
And now I don't quite know what to do exactly.
Q1. I can't see any thread to flash CWM/TWRP after unlocking bootloader?
Q2. Is recovery a part of the kernel? (If I flash doomlord will i get a custom recovery?)
Q3. If i want to unroot completely(to retain warranty) I should just flash stock kernel and relock bootloader right(Restore DRM keys)?
Also suggest me a stable recovery thread, I just want to flash custom ROMs that's all
Please answer me ASAP fellas
Recovery is in the kernel, flash a ny custom kernel for stock then flash the update.zip of your choice of rom in recovery
Hi thank you, any good kernel with stable TWRP recovery? Please post a link to thread as well

Best bet is to try them yourself, I think they are all stable enough for you to flash it for the 1-2 minutes you will have it to flash a custom rom.

About to buy the Mi Mix and have a couple of questions

Hi everyone,
I've decided to buy a Mi Mix and I have a couple of questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1. I'm in the U.S., is there a recommended re-seller that I should buy from or should I buy directly from Xiaomi?
2. I want to use the Epic ROM by Mr. Raines, but I can't tell if I need to flash to a particular ROM/Recovery first, then flash Epic; OR can I flash over whatever comes on the phone and if so, which version of TWRP do I use.
Sorry if this has been covered before, but again, I appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

There is a where to buy thread, most come with vendor rom, so TWRP and follow guide to install epic ROM, if you don't root remember to flash dm-verify before first boot.

Need help clarifying root, etc.

Hi, I am helping my friend root his at&t s6. I come from the T-Mobile Note line.
In my experience I use odin to add a custom recovery (twrp) and then I can flash root and roms.
What I read is different. Is there no custom bootloader or recovery? also, anytime he wants a new rom will he have to use odin?
Can someone please give me a run down so I can understand this better?

help creating recovery and ROM for CC9 meitu "vela"

Hi,
I own a cc9 meitu edition, code name "vela".
all the recoveries and ROM posted here are for cc9 (pyxis) and not for cc9 meitu "vela".
currently I'm using the "[Recovery] TWRP-3.3.1-0709 XIAOMI_CC9-CN-wzsx150", and it works partly
because when I'm trying to flash a vela ROM, the process fails with the message that it cant flash vela ROM on a pyxis device.
plus, cc9 meitu only has a china ROM, which is a nightmare.
can someone please post a link to a very detailed guide on how to create a twrp recovery and a custom ROM for my device?
I am new to it, so as much detail guide will be much appreciated.
thanks,
Yotam
First we need custom recovery twrp, because custom rom is straightforward (we can use pyxis rom which has similar hardware, only need some edit. Lots of guide for custom rom, not able to post link now)
thanks. lets try to create a twrp

the way that I see it is we have 2 options:
1. to change the name of the device in the current twrp "TWRP-3.3.1-0709 XIAOMI_CC9-CN-wzsx150" from pyxis to vela (I do not know how to do that)
because it seems that this twrp woks ok except for the fact that the device name is pyxis.
2. create our own twrp. I looked for guides, but all the detailed guides are for MTK devices.
I am looking for a complete guide to create a twrp for Qualcomm devices
Thank you @eidrag
Yotam
after searching the web for this device in chinese, I found this site:
https://translate.google.com/transl...en&u=http://www.romleyuan.com/lec/read?id=270
there is a twrp there for meitu but everything is in Chinese
can someone download it and post it?
I don't know Chinese and google translate didn't help

Don't forget to flash vbmeta.img or you will go to stock recovery again when rebooting !
So this recovery is only to flash "vela" roms in the future. Don't use it to flash pyxis roms ! For this use pyxis recovery instead.
Thank you so much
Thanks for the twrp.
You are the king!
Are you sure you posted the right url?
There is nothing there.
By the way, do you know how to Port a global ROM to the cc9 meitu?
