Hey guys i am on the latest havoc os build but whenever i try to install magisk or any custom kernel ROM doesn't boot..
So is the problem because of the device encryption or something else....?

I have a oneplus 3t.
Currently on Resurrection Remix OS v6.0.0. Android version 8.1.0.
Using Magisk v15.3 as root method.
twrp-3.2.1-0.
I have tried flashing both, franco kernel r39 and Elemental X v4.00. Both are giving me a boot loop. So I had to extract the boot.img from the RR OS zip, adb push it to the phone and flash through recovery to get the phone working again. Am I flashing them incorrectly? are these kernels eve compatible with RR OSv6.0.0? what kernels can I use if these aren't?

Those kernels are for Oxygen OS. Maybe caesium kernel will work for you, although, I do not know why you bother with a different kernel than the one of the rom.

RR is literately built with Caesium, so I wouldn't flash it again. So yeah, the default ROM kernel is fine.
Really don't know where to post this, so I'm writing it here.
I have problems installing Magisk on Alcatel Pixie 3 4 (4013), phone runs on MediaTek MT6572M and currently operating on CyanogenMod 12.1
stock rom is based on 4.4.2 so I had to upgrade to lollipop based rom.
I'm trying to install magisk with twrp 3.0, but it gives me "unable to unpack boot image".
unninstalled supersu and run unsu script, because rom was pre-rooted.
I have tried Exodus rom, but magisk hide didnt work at all, magisk itself was. So I tried this one. Without success I guess.
Hello ,
I have a LG2 D802 with Android 5. I rooted it and i installed TWRP with LGG2-D80230d-OneClickRootRecovery.
Now I would like to install Lineage OS 17.1 and use magisk for my bank app.
I downloaded the zip file of lineage OS and i noticed that Lineage brings a boot.img.
I have questions and i hope that someone can help me to find answers.
1 - Does magisk work with the boot.img installed by LGG2-D80230d-OneClickRootRecovery and/or with the lineage's boot.img ?
2 - Does lineage OS need it's own boot.img ?. Does lineage OS will start if i keep my actualy boot.img installed by LGG2-D80230d-OneClickRootRecovery ?
Thanks.
The only GSI rom that used to work on my phone was Resurrection Remix Q (8.6.5). Now none of them work. When I flash Android 10 GSIs (A/B A64 vndklite ofc) they only get to the loading screen and they stay there. Android 11 roms don't even boot up. Is there any way to get GSI roms working? FYI, I tried everything (well, almost) to make it work. I tried booting with and without Magisk, I tried flashing with and without GAPPS, I even flashed an ARM64 Treble vendor, and none of it works.
Edit: I'm gonna try flashing a stock Android 11 vendor. I'm gonna keep y'all up to date.
Edit 2: It worked. I managed to install dotOS R 5.2 along with Magisk 24.3 with absolutely no issues.
are there any bugs on gsi rom what works and what doesnt work
Hello. I will describe it briefly:
I'm about to flash my Redmi 6A(cactus), to Lineage OS 18.1 via GSI using OSS(ALPS)-vendor on arm64. I have read some information and it says that installing Magisk could cause a bootloop. I want to know if it is true.
Which image do I want to use - https://sourceforge.net/projects/andyyan-gsi/files/lineage-18.x/
Image - lineage-18.1-20220715-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgS-vndklite.img.xz
P.S. I haven't started flashing yet, I want to consider all the little things and conventions before flashing the phone.
