I want to change rom but i cant figure out what to choose. I just want stable and has better battery (miui is great but i want custom)
Boop
Bootlegger unshishufied
syberia
For me it's not one ROM.
There's several ROMs available and new updates are pushed to those so keeping up with one is nearly impossible for me.
You can choose from this ROM which I found great.
AOSP Extended, Resurrection Remix, Havoc OS(but won't recommend if you are looking for launcher customizations, using third party launcher looses Android pie app opening animations and there is no icon nor gesture customizations.)
Above all I like dotOS for different and beautiful unique UI.
All of them have good battery backup.
I don't play games so can't say anything.
You can't be sure to which ROM need to use unless and until you try yourself to choose, because everyone's use is different.

If you want better battery backup just flash magisk "LKT" module and set battery profile.

Do you think there is some very good stock apps that its not worth to change rom? Or is for example Cyanogenmod 11 so much better that I should flash it right away?
Stock rom is 4.1.2.
cm rom not good.
i use slim rom very good

I tried lot of roms...stock or not. I can say that any new rom 4.4.X that you can find in xda is better than stock. Slim, Omni and others are very fast, smooth and battery friendly, with lot of customization. With these roms installed, N7000 looks like other new devices as performance, really.
Maybe you'll miss S-Note, but GNote is very good too...it's almost the same. Float Note is like Quick Memo...and there are many google or free apps even better than Samsung's one. You will able to get s-pen shortcuts too.
Keep trying...
I've searched and I've seen other posts with no responses. So whats your favorite custom ROM and why? I've tried a few but I can't seem to put my finger on the one I like the best and wanted to see what other people were enjoying about different ROMs. Sorry if this post isn't allowed.
Yes this kind of post isnt allowed
We cant say which rom is bad or good or favorite....
Everyone has their own taste nd preference..
All roms there are stable... you should try all the roms...
Nd btw if u are not satisfied with any of the rom....
Just go back to stock!
favourite mostly stable rom = STOCK SAMSUNG.
its actually depend on you. you as the user. you use the phone. you choose. i always end up with stock since all the function i want work on stock.
I think all Samsung based roms suck, because Samsung managed to make the Android experience worse than stock in every way except the camera.
The only N7 based rom which is stable and mostly works is the Nemesis rom with the Nemesis kernel additionally flashed.
Install greenified, forced doze and xposed to give it reasonable battery life.
i did try many ROMS
but evetually i still go back to stock for 99.9% stability and everything "JUST WORKS"
custom rom is good. dont get me wrong, love it especially when it comes to features.
but for me eventually my requirement is stability.. so sometimes i just play around with a custom ROM for like 1-2 weeks then go back to stock
only flash the ROMS that i felt is worth trying

I have to agree with Edan.
Stock is my choice as Samsung have taken all features into consideration.
There are other ways I prefer to customize such as having lauchers.
So I been biding my time waiting on the people to tinker and try everything. So I gotta ask, what do you thin is hands down the best ROM for Oneplus 3T, doesn't have to be custom, can be stock, just want to know what people think.
Personally Ive been using stock the most.

For me it's FreedomOS .
You can make it as stock as you want....well almost stock. And it also supports Substratum legacy support.
Still using stock. it's relatively clean so no issue there. Also, official LineageOS (post-CM) already have OP3 rom posted, I just wonder would that be universal build that support 3T also. Either way, not gonna try as I have no need for custom ROM at the moment.
Favourites are Tesla and stock 4.0.2
Currently using Tesla 21/01 build, its almost perfect - OMS support, great battery and relatively stable. There are some features of stock OOS that I really like (besides the stability and smoothness) such as the Shelf, and OOS camera. If only stock didn't have forced encryption, I would have stayed on it.
Tried almost all ROMs...and have to say Freedom is the smoothest of all..
Stock and Freedom OS.. All rest of the ROMs are still buggy and unstable for me so far..
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
Tried a few.. now I've gone back to stock.. seems the most reliable so far...
This is the first phone where I'm living stock. And still doesn't feel any need to go for custom roms or kernels.
Still on stock rom. The first time that I have no need for custom rom. Even I have stock recovery, just root.
For me the best at the moment is AICP, pretty stable, LOT of customization, really fast.. Cons are camera and maybe battery, which is pretty average.. but in general is the rom i like most.
Stock.
Custom roms give more harm than goods!
I would like to know a Oneplus 3T custom room that fully supports Substratum
It would have been good if the stock OOS 4.0.3 would have supported but that does not seem to be the case and I would like to know if there is anything better than that.
Stock w/ Franco kernel ftw!
I always use stock OOS since the beginning, combined with custom kernels such as blu_spark or franco. It already has everything that I need, so I don't have any desire to try any custom ROM, at least for now.
still on stock cause I need VoLTE and VoWiFi, all the custom ROMs and unlocked boot loader seem to break that settings for US T-mobile network
Latest RC build of Dirty Unicorn is the best for me. Best battery life for me.
OOS 4.0.3 with fk kernel gave me really good battery but Dirty Unicorn gave me even better. And trust me, Those guys (DU team) knows how to build a rom.
Stock with franco kernel
Stock as I want Android Pay without faffing about. It's pretty good in terms of customization anyway and I've always run Nova Launcher Prime so whichever ROM I run they always look and function the same primarily.
I'm on FreedomOS as the video camera quality on non-stock based ROMs is pretty crummy. I hoped OP would had put whatever sources or binaries out by now like they said they would, but oh well. Still very happy with the phone.

Hello. I just bought my brand new Oneplus 3T. I came from the LG G4. I always used custom roms on my android phones. Unfortunately I have a job now and I don't have much time to play/test all these roms around here.
I'm not asking "the best rom" or "which is better" sort of things.
I just need an opinion for what should I begin with?
I would prefer some stock based rom.
As about the kernel I heard a lot about Franco's kernel but I saw that there is Boeffla kernel too.
Don't get me wrong, I just need something to start from because as I mentioned above I don't have much time to test and choose which is best for me.
Thank you!
I have tested many ROM's and I always come to the same conclusion. Stock is better. I recommend you to use stock OOS, root it and mod it as you wish. It's a powerful OS, without much bloatware (which can anyways be easily removed) and it offers a decent amount of customization. Of course, it's not as customizable as RR, but RR is also unstable and doesn't offer the same camera quality. In fact, most ROMs have a crappy camera. Except PA, apparently, which, of course, has other problems, like idle battery drain. You'll find something that won't make you happy in every rom you try. That was, at least, my experience. I have come to the conclusion that OOS does its job well.

This is exactly what I want. I don't want a LineageOS based rom or something like this.
I want a STOCK based rom.
But I don't know with which rom should I start because I saw that there are a few.
Hmm, I'd say freedomOS. It's a very stable ROM, "daily driver" material. It gives you the option to kinda debloat it when you flash the ROM
If you are looking for maximum battery with average use then go for RR with EX Kernel.
Yeah Freedom OS is kind to install because you don't have to do the usual stuff manually, but I've personnaly not noticed anything you can't get on stock OOS.
I'd advice to stay stock, and if later you still want to try some new things there will be plenty of mod material here
If you want something else...try Phoenix AEX ROM..
Really different experience...( EAS based )
Hi, when you are new with this phone I personally would recommend OxygenOpen Beta.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/coming-update-oos-based-7-1-t3564240
This Rom has everything you want, for me absolut stable and has all features you need for normal use. Worth to have a look.
I always had custom Roms on my earlier phones, but this stock Rom is the best I have ever seen. I have unlocked bootloader and rootet phone but since I have my phone (since May) I flashed this Rom and there is no reason for me to change it:angel:

Don't feel like you need to flash a custom ROM, just because you "always have". Try the stock OOS for a bit, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Stock OOS is very impressive. Very little bloat, really close to stock Android, nice customization options, and it just works. It's a big departure from the manufacturer "skins" applied by LG, Samsung, etc. which often (in my opinion) make too many changes, with little added value.
Although, I would suggest unlocking the bootloader now (instead of waiting) even if you do intend to try out the stock ROM for a while. Sinceit is a bit annoying having your data wiped (by unlocking the bootloader - it can't be avoided) and having to setup everything again, if you do decide to install a custom ROM, kernels, etc.
Stick to OOS. It's the best, really. Sultanxda's lineage is amazing for starters.
And Franco kernel on OOS is also "legendary"
Nevertheless, it's upto you to try and tell yourself what rom/kernel suits your needs.
Cheers!
That's the mistake you use custom roms. I always have stock rom on my every device
Stock open beta 10 with custom kernel(optional to remove dm verity flag) + magisk + safety net pass + adway + google assistant + dark mode.... thats it !
Hi all,
I need your help to suggest me a good custom ROM and how to install that on my Moto x 2014. I am really sick and tired of my 2 year old phone as it is now very slow, battery backup has become poor.
I will be really thankful to you people.
You can do as we all here.. read the threads.. coments and try different roms.. the one that better suit your needs, the one you choose.
To not leave you unanswered, personal recommendation, nexus rom or mokee.
I'd say Dirty Unicorns for Nougat, or maybe the new Oreo ROMs that have popped up lately I'm running Lineage 15 and it's awesome.
It sounds like your bootloader is still locked though, am I right?

That's right. Currently I am using 6.0 marshmallow stock version. Neither I know how to unlock bootloader.
Basically, it's been 2 years and i was scared tweaking the OS, but now I am fed up with my phone's performance though it has 801 Snapdragon and 2gb of RAM.
I need to know from- how to unlock bootloader to how to install custom ROM.
To unlock the bootloader just Google "unlock bootloader XT 1095". There are tons of tutorials.
Then you need to install a custom recovery, I'd suggest TWRP. Again, Google is your friend for the how-to's.
Finally, you have to download a ROM and corresponding Google Apps (aka GAPPS package) and install them using the custom recovery.
In terms of which ROM, I'm currently using the unofficial Lineage OS 15 from Andersonmendes and it's a beast. Super smooth and great battery life. Be sure to flash the version from October 10th.
Cheers and good luck in your modding journey!

I would recommend you the AospExtended 4.6 rom, been using it since it came and had no problems so far.
I recomanded the final rr 5.8.5 nougat.
Stable excelent battery and full extras.
If you are not about customizing your OS a lot, you might consider Lineage 14.1. it receives updates and security patches on a weekly basis.
EDIT. By the way NX Rom is quite good too. Nearly nexus device experience. You can have a dark theme for all UI, so you won't need a Substratum theme just for that.
I'm on AOSP Extended just because it has "advanced ambient display", where you can add double-tap to interact with it (not double tap to wake).
On other roms I keep waking the phone accidentaly when ambient display activates and I touch the screen (in example: when walking with the phone in my hand)

You're not taking about AOSP extended 4.6, are you? Because that one doesn't have these nice settings.
EDIT. Sorry, a quick research solved it. First, we need to disable "double-tap to sleep" in Ambient Display settings.
