Hidden Wifi network

I've done a search and seen this has been asked before but I haven't seen a solution (if there is one). My phone can connect to my Wifi network if it is not hidden but as soon as I hide it, my phone no longer connects. The "This is a hidden network box is selected when I try to connect.

Wifi virus?

When I turn on wifi it's starting to try connecting with the network called bilfinger. It's doing that everywhere I am.
It can't make that connection, but because of that I can't make whatever other connection.
How can I remove bilfinger as a provider / wireless network?
Thanks,
R.
It has connected to an 'ad-hoc' or 'device to device' network,
Each system in this network is a access point and a client ... so I you join such a network and save the settings you may automatically connect to it whenever you have not opted to connect to any other network.
You can connected to this network, because you are broadcasting this network.
to remedy you problem you need to remove the stored settings for the wireless network in Settings > Connections > WiFi

[Q] SGT Verizon wpasupplicant/WiFi

Hi
First, I am rooted with superoneclick and on EC02. I replaced the wpa supplicant from an adhoc working cersion so I could upgrade to EC02. After successful upgrade to EC02, I then went back in and replaced the wpa supplicant file so I could connect to my AndroidTether, which works. I can connect to any other network as well as long as it is open etc.
The problem that I am having is that I cannot have WiFi auto switch to an open network, or my home network etc. I have to manually go in to WiFi settings and disable Wifi and then re-enable WiFi then select the network manually. All passwords are remembered for networks, I just do not have auto-switching capability. Before upgrading to EC02 via a guide here in XDA, my WiFi would auto-select an open network that was available and pass worded, when I would leave work my SGT would automatically switch to my home network WiFi. I have tried FXR WiFi fix and rescue and other apps to fix this but still have to choose manually to disable and re-enable WiFi or manually select a network. Also, even when a network that I was in range and connected to is still being held onto even when I am no longer in range of the network. WiFi won't automatically let go of the previously connected network.
Again, I have to disable WiFi and manually select a network to switch WiFi connectivity. Any help or suggestions would be welcome.

at the bottom, you can see advance option then look for hidden network and choose yes. Pie update does it that option.

When I received my new Mi A2 (Global) with 10.0.9.0 installed I was able to connect to hidden networks right out of the box. Later after updating to 10.0.10.0 hidden networks broke when newly defined. If I had one previously defined it will work, however if you remove it and attempt to redefine it again it will not work.

has anyone found the solution?
the solution here is to downgrade to previous version
Solved: I have the same issue, I chose "forget network", then added it again checking the "hidden network" option, after that I restarted my device, and went to "saved network", chose my network SSID and clicked on "connect", and it finally connected!
