[3T] LineageOS 16.0 20190302 daily build bootloops - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

I have tried to install it from the latest official 15.1 daily (20190226) + 8.1 opengapps + encrypted storage.
I applied the official directions, plus 9.0 opengapps in particular:
> Please note that if you’re currently on an official build, you DO NOT need to wipe your device.
The system kept on booting to bootloader.
Then I have tried to restore my latest complete backup. It started bootlooping without asking for the encryption PIN.
I wiped everything and installed 16.0 from scratch + 9.0 opengapps. No way.
I ended up by reinstalling everything from scratch.
I warned you.

Yes today's 16.0 Nightly has been reported as bootlooping :/
When you tried to restore the TWRP backup, did you try reflashing the 15.1 zip over it?

Can't install lineageos without big problems

Hi
I've a a3003 and I'm running freedom is 1.3.
now I want to move to lineageos.
I did install tugapower n10 and everything did run very smooth.
after booting in TWRP and a restart,I had to reconfigure my phone.
it didn't matter what I did, I had to reconfigure my phone after every boot to TWRP.
now I'm back on freedom os and everything is fine.
how do I move to lineageos without so much trouble?
thanks
Happened to me too. Just wondering: Are you coming from OxygenOS 4.0.2 or 4.0.3?
Check your TWRP version. You need 3.0.4 (currently unreleased) or you will have these issues.
After I updated TWRP my resets went away also.
TWRP 3.0.4 link https://forum.xda-developers.com/on.../recovery-official-twrp-oneplus-3-3t-t3543391
I would try flashing the latest 4.0.3 OnePlus 3T firmware first, and then try the new ROM
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862702435
And also make sure to have at least the latest TWRP 3.0.4-1 or you will have problems.
Thanks everybody. After flashing TWRP everything is fine
Thats a knows TWRP issue make sure you are on TWRP 3.0.4.0 + the latest is 3.0.4.1
the one plus 3 and 3T recovery are same check TWRP Thread at One plus 3 Section

TWRP 3.1.0 - wipes userdata and more

I install latest TWRP 3.1.0 version today.
All the user data, some apps (Waze, Gmail, Gmaps...), SMS were wiped.
I have RR-N-v5.8.2-20170218-oneplus3t-Official currently installed.
I reinstall some apps back.
After system reboot all seemed fine.... But after boot to recovery (TWRP 3.1) and than boot into system all was gone again.
It looks like every boot to recovery wipes user data and some apps...
Flash 3.0.4-1 again
Same problem here with 3.1.0.0.
I flashed 3.1.0.0 img with 3.0.4-1 and do not have the issues OP is describing.
Edit: stock Open Beta 3 rooted.

I did... and restore system from backup BUT some userdata is gone forever...
Apparently, the official TWRP 3.1.0-0 for OnePlus 3T only works with Oxygen OS. So far, only users using custom ROMs have reported issues with partition wipes after flashing the latest TWRP.

Happened to me on OOS. Went back to 3.0.4-1
Sent from my OnePlus 3T using XDA Labs
It was updated to 3.1.0-1 try that
I suppose this of because of the official TWRP 3.1.0-0 is not using the backported F2FS driver. I'm using EXT4 filesystem on data partition so therefore I'm not experiencing any data loss.
Was on RR 09.03 with OB3 firmware, it completely destroyed my phone. Bootloops, impossible to go back to recovery, when in recovery, impossible to see files to flash them, even going back to 3.0.4.1 did not solve everything, reinstalled Freedom OS but had screen total freezes.... Had to go through the total disaster recovery utility, and I am still re-installing everything...
TWRP 3.1.0.0 ate 4 hours of my flash-addicted life... FML !!!
**STAY AWAY FOR NOW**
Blu_spark 3.1.0 version is not affected by this, only the official.
Stock OOS 4.0.3 and TWRP 3.1.0-1 = ALL GOOD!

Can confirm. TWRP 3.1.0-1 works fine. (rooted OOS 4.0.2)
I had at least two serious issues with official TWRP 3.1.0-1 and LineageOS:
1.) After a first flash attempt via fastboot I was no longer able to unlock my phone with my PIN under LineageOS.
2.) When booting into TWRP I got a black screen - unable to do any useful.
3.) After I could no longer unlock my phone under LineageOS I reinstalled LineageOS from TWRP 3.1.0-1. All looked fine until I rebooted from TWRP into LineageOS: TWRP obviously wiped my device and I was offered
the setup wizzard of LineageOS. All my setting were gone.
I had issue 3.) already with TWRP 3.0.3-1. I immediately reflashed TWRP 3.0.4-1 - the currently only working TWRP version.
I would like to add that I had removed any encryption on the phone before I started at 1.). My device is still unencrypted. I once removed stock encryption because I heard about problems with TWRP and encryption.

Can't seem to install roms in T813

I can't seem to install roms on my SM-T813 phone.
I have the latest firmware - T813XXS2BRC2_T813OXA2BRB2_DBT
TWRP - twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t813_14417n or twrp-3.2.1-0-gts210vewifi.img.
If I try to install a 7.1 rom I get either an error 7 message in TWRP or the rom will install but not reboot past bootloader screen with SEAndroid error.
If I try an 8.1 rom I have either the same or the rom will install but not see the sdcard when installed.
I run it fine with stock firmware, rooted and with TWRP and xposed.
Any help appreciated

I had some issues with the stock ROM as it has an encrypted data partition. I used Odin3 (v3.12.3) to format the data partition, which resets the tablet to factory default, but removes that encryption. After that, TWRP saw the internal storage just fine, and I could install lineage-15.1-20180410-nightly-gts210vewifi-signed.zip. NB the previous nightly didn't install because of the firmware newness (T813XXS2BRC2 equals patchlevel march 2018)

OnePlus 3T stuck in Recovery/Fastboot after trying to flash Lineage 16

Hi,
tried going from stock OxygenOS (rooted) to LineageOs 16 according to the LineageOS Instructions.
No dice.
After flashing successfully, including nano gapps, TWRP (3.2.3-1) tells me that there is no OS.
Reboot ends in the bootloader.
Tried flashing stock OxygenOS and it only shows me the OxygenOS boot animation.
Any Ideas on how to clean that up?
thx

Please clarify - did you do the following steps from the installation instructions using the latest official TWRP?
4. Go back to return to main menu, then tap Wipe.
5. Now tap Format Data and continue with the formatting process. This will remove encryption as well as delete all files stored on the internal storage.

In that case, I strongly suggest that you use this version of TWRP https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603866112
The official version of TWRP has a bug: if you decrypt the phone, you end up with a broken encryption header.
(Lots of discussion about this in https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...covery-official-twrp-touch-recovery-t3742894)
After installing TWRP, tap the Format Data button in the Wipe menu. This will reformat and fix the encryption header. You can then reinstall OOS.

There's a problem with this build, just read the official thread on the forum...
Next build will fix it, you're not alone

I got OOS installed that way.
But only after I ignored the "No OS Installed" message in TWRP.
This killed TWRP, so flashed that again, then (after the wipe sequence) LOS 16, Gapps and Magisk and I am back to the "No OS installed" message and a reboot ends at the fastboot menu.
thx

Thanks!
So what is the best course of action now.
Stick with OOS until the next build or flash LOS 15.1 and then upgrade (or is this again a complete reflash)?
thx

It's a major release, so you should do a full wipe anyway while you're installing lineage 16.0, stick with 15.1, or OOS.
Don't waste too much reinstalling everything, wait for lineage release.
Edit: They just release it

Glad to here you're up and running again.
It's odd that you get the no OS message in TWRP, yet the phone boots.
See if deleting both the .twrps file and the theme folder (if it exists) in the TWRP directory helps .

Thanks a lot for your hint regarding the TWRP version.
I was stuck with "E1001: Failed to update system image" and "Error 7" on every custom or stock ROM I tried to install with TWRP 3.3.1-0 after my encrypted data partition got corrupted on latest update.
Formating data with TWRP 3.2.1 fixed the issue and I was finally able to reinstall the stock ROM.

Hi all,
I have got another problem with the nightly updates since modem firmware changed to 9.0.4 in July . This is just the date, don't know if it is related to that.
Since then I get the common hints about "new nightly available".
-> download -> install.
"Preparing update" -> Reboot.
Getting into TWRP 3.3.1.0 -> Patching all fine. -> Reboot
Enter PIN to start Android -> starting Android
Lineage running circles but longer than normal -> Back to reboot and TWRP Main Menu
That's it. This happens at every update since then.
What I do then is
Wiping cache and system, install lineage-os from the lineage update directory, install gapps reboot.
Data and all programs are still there with all of there setting except permissions. So I have got to start more or less every app to grant their permissions and the system is more or less back to normal.
Any idea how to fix that or where to get some more information what is happening during startup that the system cannot settle?

30/05 Nightly Not Booting

Yesterday’s Lineage 17.1 nightly 29/05 did not have working telephony. No problem, install todays nightly, non booter! I am in a boot loop to Lineage Recovery with factory reset looking mighty attractive right now! GApps, Magisk & BusyBox...
What are my options?
EDIT:
I followed this guide to flash 17.1 LineageOS & GApps on Lake:
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/lake/install
I then separately (after first boot) followed step 5 of this guide to flash Magisk:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/guide-installing-lineage-t4075955
However am I missing a step for the Moto G7 Plus. I thought A/B booting was supposed to avoid this very scenario. In future I will keep a Nandroid backup, which will mean running TWRP insteada Lineage Recovery. Resetting LineageOS then booting into it minus Magisk & GApps I then flashed GApps from SD card but this resulted in all manner of wonkieness. Any help gratefully received.
