In my experience:
Havoc: More customization, more stable (less bugs) but less fluid and duplicate apps
PE: More fluid (but with a few more bugs), no duplicate apps and more consistent in sounds, animations, etc (IMO)
Both really good and better than stock.

Nexus 6 - Stock 7.1.1 or AOSP 7.1.1

Hi, I have just flashed Nougat 7.1.1 factory image and it is notlaggy as previous nougat image.
But, IDK, I was having issues with Pixel launcher and ram usage, went to CM 14.1 but phone was laggy aF.
As I think, this will be the latest Nougat or Whatever update We will be receiving for this device.
And I wanted to know if I should keep stock nougat running for a few weeks [No FC's, no Restarts, No Issues so far] or if I should change to a AOSP rom.
Based on your personal experience, [And if you have traveled this route before], What would you recommend?
Stock Nougat 7.1.1 N4F26M or Any other AOSP [Tell me your favorite ones, without that extreme menu settings or linux shell to make it a daily driver]
I think more of a ROM for the looks, combined with good performance... Loved the Pixel Launcher tho! but it is not optimized correctly.
Miui is far behind on software version and no oficial port.
CM is dead
LineageOs is not eligible "Yet" for my daily driver [this is my only phone for now]
Do not like menu settings with a lot of banners and 'notification bar settings extended"..
I do want, performance settings, maybe a different kernel with the rom.
Hope you can help me!

Why don't you give it a try to PureNexus ROM. Its fast, very stable and with very few bugs, if any, plus you get that Pixel like experience. It gets updated at least monthly, if not more often.
To me, it looked more stable that CM 14.1, I see that especially when I use Snapchat, which runs much better in this ROM. Dont get me wrong, stock Nougat is very good but does not have so many features as PureNexus has.
Cheers
uberstock is very nice and stable and not filled with too many extras....no issues for me so far.....link is in my signature
I'm having better experience with AOSP, I'm now running EmotionOS and the kernel it includes, I don't know if it has a custom one, If it doens't replace the kernel, I'm using it with Franco Kernel. Coming from the latest stock 7.1.1, is a much better experience IMO. Give it a try to Emotion OS with pico gapps.
Pure Nexus is amazing in terms of performance and most importantly the battery life. I am not talking about SoT or otherwise, I will tell you as a very layman experience. You use your phone, do whatsapp, surf facebook and browse during the day with all other normal activities of your life and PureNexus can easily give you 24hours or more of the charge without compromising the features and performance. I think you should try PureNexus AND stay with it for a week. Do not judge the battery life of a rom in a day or two, let it tune itself after a couple of charge (complete) discharge cycles and you'll be ok with it.

Any kernel Options? I just read about the pure nexus rom and it seems to be the best one [based on other users ratings]

Well I use the kernel that comes with it, since I don't feel the need to mess with other kernels. It gives me pretty good battery life and rock solid performance. I use Kernel Adiutor only to enable Double Tap to wake feature.
If you want to change things a little bit then Franco Kernel works good as well. I used it but messed it up and the phone started making funny things, restarts and such. But then again I didn't knew what I was doing at the time, so I let it go completely. Other users though had very good experiences with it.
I'm very tempted to try Pure Nexus ROM, I'm a purist always used only stock and no root, in fact I miss marshmallow and how fluid it was, but anyway kind of happy with nougat. Now that seems that 7.1.1 is buggy (speakerphone issue) I won't side load that update til we know the issue is fixed. So do you guys know if that ROM somehow fixes that annoying increasing ringtone and tone sounds when a message arrives in Nexus 6? I already read the goodies the ROM have posted by you guys, what else do you gain with this ROM? Many thanks.

If you're looking for a great aosp rom, try ABC rom. The thread has a collection for all different devices, wrongway123 builds for the N6.

Recommend me a ROM

Hello XDA
I know there is no such thing as the best ROM but I was hoping to do a little cheating and save my self some reading and get some opinions on what would fit me the best.
I use my phone as a business phone and thus my battery is dying constantly. I got ALOT of SMS and my phone is constantly slowing down. I want something that won't seem like a old device.
I want to root to install a new ROM and battery tweaks. Here are my requirements:
MUST be stable
Smooth
Good battery life
I want something I don't have to constantly tweak. With my note 4 I essentially changed so much that at the end it became such a nuisance trying to keep modding etc. I want to set this up and forget about it, unless needed.
Thanks !
Use Paranoid Android 7.2.1
Vertex OS

There are people that use RR and have insane battery life, but i recommend hydrogen os because it's officially supported by Oneplus and have a better battery life than oxygen os

I understand where you are coming from, but from a practical point of view, if someone recommended a ROM, you may find your experience different from theirs. Happens all the time. Second, it's a good idea to read first. I just got this phone. All I have done is read threads here at xda. Not even so much ROMs, but reading about the phone. This step alone has saved me from myself in the past. Makes it easier to troubleshoot problems.

I agree. I have tested enough roms to conclude that for the 3T there's no point in trying to find something better than stock
Perhaps only something purely based on oxygen os, but more debloated, like freedomOS
basically it doesnt matter, 99% is all placebo.
TugaPower is out-of-box really good, which is LineageOS with some small mods (Viper4Android Audio mod ie.)

good battery life, camera comparable to oxygen os, stable and fast rom , theme option for people who don't use substratum theme engine
Beta with Magisk for root and a kernel of your choice. Get some performance and battery benefits from the kernel (if that's the type you decide to flash). Debloat it. Use Greenify and BetterBatteryStats to eliminate wakelocks.

I guess stock is the best choice here for you. It has no additional battery hungry features like viper but is still stable. You may consider flashing a kernel instead and I would hardly recommend you to read into them since that's the best way to get to know to new kernels.

I would say oos..if u want a flawless stock experience with better battery life, use freedom os..
I personally use oos open beta 12( rooted with magisk) with elemental x kernel..it gives me good battery and flawless performance..apps like substratum and viper 4 arise works fine..
Thanks for all the replies. I tried out RR and had an issue with the WiFi dropping - since this was a business phone I decided not to flash a custom ROM. I am now on OOS open beta, the latest one. Loving the parallel apps feature!
Now to get into theming and modding. I've got the basics down already like greenify, BBS.
Any recommendations on rooted apps? What have I missed in the last year or so

Current best Nougat ROMs for Z00L

For ME the best ROMs are :
1. COSMIC OS - Simple and buttery smooth. Good battery backup too. Best daily driver for me.
2. Resurrection Remix - The best in terms of customization and features.
3. cRDroid - Best battery backup ever in a Nougat ROM.
4. AEX (AOSP Extended) - Mix of everything. Smooth and good battery life. Could have been the best if not for the equalizer which need to be fixed. Though you can solve it with a sound mod.
This list can change with release of latest builds of ROMs. This list has not been created to rank the developers. They are the best and only due to their effort we have these tonnes of ROMs to try out. Try any according to your taste.
Feel free to share your lists and opinions here. It is not polite to discuss about other ROMs in a single thread. I have noticed it recently as more and more people violate this rule.
So post everything here.
AIM v2.0 also have great battery life.
Someone got around 6 hours SOT
What about OCT-OS N..?!
Lineage is still the best. And also OctOS N.

Does anybody know which the fastest ROM for Z00L is ?
Pardon me sir, but my experience with AOSPExtended gives me average performance of battery life. My usage are quite basic, like replying messages, watching Youtube videos, and listening to music with wifi on and Data off. In your review you said bout great battery life. If i can ask how great is it? Thanks
Can Anyone suggest a good stable rom with negligible bugs (other than RR) and good battery life..
It is like i am giving my Z00L Away and I don't want them to worry about any sort of bugs & lagging issues..
(Please mention if Greenify was functional or not
It will be helpful)
Thanks.

Any ROMs for the 3T that feel like OxygenOS?

Like for example how the quick tiles get a blue color, or the gaming mode quick toggle, or the Slate font, or the dash charge lightning icon instead of the default battery icon when dash charging, or the OnePlus Launcher, etc.
Just so that the rom feels more like OOS and less like a stock Oreo build. I like all the tweaks and the polished feel that oxygen os provides.
Like Pixel Experience ROM you want a Oxygen Experience ROM.........
You can get a ROM based on Oxygen OS if you want that experience. BTW why do you want another ROM if oxygen os full fills your need. My biggest problem with oxygen os is battery life. My phone always dies on me after half day. Never got a full day backup.
Also note that I game a lot(PUBG, Clash Royale, etc) so that's obvious result.

Because custom ROMs have more features, usually better battery life, and there won't be OxygenOS for Android P for my 3T, so I'll need a custom.rom eventually

The most polished and Oxygen OS like ROM in my opinion is Paranoid Android(AOSPA) but their update cycle is reallllyyyyy slow. Other ROMs are great and feature rich but I feel like they are not as good as Oxygen OS or Paranoid Android. Lineage OS is great but it lacks feature and also is a bit slow. These are just my opinion. I too like Oxygen OS but it also lacks updates and will eventually be discontinued sooooo I know what exactly what you want.

Do we have PIXEL Experience Rom for A8+

Hi all,
Can anyone suggest if PIXEl Experience Rom can be available for A8+.
I feel Pixel Experience (PE) is a simple rom without many customisations and mostly be used as a daily driver.
I Had used PE on couple of devices, and feel the best in all aspects ( Simple,Flued and Battery efficient)
Right now I am on Stock Pie with One UI, Its a good rom, but some how feel little laggy and not fluid.
If not PE, do we have any other non Samsung Rom for this device, which can be used as a daily driver.
