There is a bug in March 2019 update which disables selection of network band, but 4g is still working. This is the reason Xiaomi pulled the March 2019 update.

I am running 5.1.1. G890AUCU3BOJE in the Bahamas with BTC sim.
I cannot get LTE service, only 4G.
Network type set to LTE/GSM (PRL).
Tried my sim card on friends S6 Active running 5.0.2 and LTE works fine.
Any solutions?

Yes did that. All apn settings matched.
Seems the phone won't recognise the network as LTE only Hsupa

Have you tried go into the dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#*
From there click on device information and you try change it to LTE only or LTE/WCDMA? Or just slideload to android 6.0?

What speeds are you getting? Some devices may say 4G but are getting LTE speeds.

Testmy.net results are 7 Mbps DL and 1.8 Mpbs UL
Speedtest gave 7.6 Mbps DL and 2.5 Mbps UL
I think I should be getting double that if I was on LTE..?
BTC's LTE band is B17, which could not supported by S6 Active.

I have a Verizon S8 that I flashed with the XAC firmware and so I'm at XAA/VZW/VZW after enabling all bands. However, even though the entire bay area should be blanketed under band 12, I have not once connected to band 12. I'm always on band 4. Has anyone with a original Tmo S8 ever connected to band 12 in the SF bay area? You can check using LTE Discovery or SignalCheck apps from the Play store. The whole reason for me to go through the trouble of flashing the non-VZW firmware was to ensure I would be able to access band 12 but doesn't seem like that worked.
I'm sitting at home on my T-Mo S8 in the SF Bay Area and I'm on Band 4. I'll check at work tomorrow morning and let you know.
If you don't have connectivity issues, it shouldn't go to band 12. As band 12 is a lower frequency and cannot carry as much bandwidth. From what I've researched previously, the phone will only take a band 12 signal if there are no other bands with a stable signal in the area as tmobile got it for the sole purpose of distance and wall penetration achieved at 700mhz to say they have a larger LTE coverage map.
. Also this from experience as my house only gets band 2 outside and when I come inside it switches to band 12. And with the lte booster connected, it uses the outside band 2.
Unless you are saying that your phone goes to no service instead of to band 12, then i have no answer
Dail *#0011# in your phone to see if band 12 is being aggregated with band 4.
If you want to see if band 12 works you could dial *#2263# and select only band 12 to work.

You have to select "Apply band configuration" after you selected the ones you want or they wont take effect.

got cha. gotta hit back to previous screen where i previous selected lte band, but press option 7 to apply setting. lol. still new at this but it works. although band 12 is just as slow as band 4 at home. i get faster speed with band 2, however, lte discover still shows band 4 even though im actually on band 2.
tks again

never got to try the service modes since i been using verizon brand phones on tmobile , lol. it makes so much sense to use tmobile brand samsung phone on tmobile network.
anyway now i can wait patiently on the root. no need to get network signal guru now to change lte bands since that app requires root
Thanks all. I bought the Verizon version cuz it's unlocked and it was the cheapest at Best buy. Plus it would be a hand me down for my bro who's on Verizon service when I upgrade lol I always thought band 12 was the godsend for Tmo. I did not know it was just a fall back band. I did notice today at work I was occasionally connected to band 12 but would almost immediately reconnect to 4 whenever I checked. Either signalcheck app was wrong or it really only uses 12 for a back up if nothing else is available.
All of a sudden noticed wifi calling doesn't seem to be working cant work out why checked all settings etc. Thanks
Same issue

Strange mine shows this after turning off 4g in the settings
First time I've checked WiFi calling on my note 9, it worked on my note 8, so on my note 9 if I turn off VoLTE then it appears that WiFi calling works and the WiFi calling icon is displayed on the notification bar, turn VoLTE back on and the WiFi calling icon disappears [emoji848]

Well damn. WiFi calling was working just a few days ago. Now I get ER081 - Unable to connect. This is the exact same error that I was getting on the unlocked Note 9 that I returned to Best Buy (for that very reason).
Dont really know what's going on I'm hoping a new update comes out to fix it
what networks are everyone on?
Wifi Calling fix
Resolved using a Note 9 with security update Nov/2018, Wifi Calling didnt work prior to this setting change below.
Issue = Voice Over LTE prioritization which is set by a new confgiuration setting in the September update.
Navigate to (Android 8 only)
Settings/Connections/Mobile Networks/
Toggle VoLTE Calls from on (default) to off.
This has been tested and is working on a Samsung Note 9 28/11/2018
thanks

Good Day Forum
I recently purchased an XQ-AT51 on EBay that was a week old running the latest July update 58.0.A.88.
I am only getting H+ data on a carrier in the Caribbean. When I pop the sim in another device I am receiving LTE speeds.
I’ve :-
1. Check APN settings and reset Network settings umpteenth times
2. I’ve used Xperia companion to reinstall the device.
3. I’ve factory restored many times as well.
4. I’ve toggled airplane mode many times.
I don’t know what else to try. When I contacted the sellers stated he was receiving LTE speeds for the week he had it but I can’t confirm that.
Any help would be appreciated. Can’t be out of pocket 1100 dollars of you know what I mean

What frequencies are used by the provider? Are these frequencies supported by the phone?
Check the setting under Settings > Network and Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced. What is selected as Preferred Network Type?
Hello
Yes all the frequencies have been checked and double checked.
Preferred network is LTE/WCDMA/3G
I’m wondering if the newest update did something.
Maybe I should roll back to an earlier version.
I got the phone with the newest update and straight out the box the LTE never showed

I also noticed that when I attempt a hard reset via the power and vol ? buttons that the screen flashes in a split second with the android logo and “no commmand” so I have no time to do anything before it reboots normally.

My phone doesn't either. Maybe Sony uses a different key combination, but that's not relevant now. Did you check the settings menu already?
Yes I did check all the settings and reset countless times - still no LTE appearing
I saw some X1 ii s’ are getting an august update I am unsure if this would help me

Strange. is your phone a model for the US? Mine doesn't have that option.
I have: just 3g; just 2g; 3g/2g; 4g/3g/2g; 5g nr/4g/3g/2g
No WCDMA at all.
---------- Post added at 01:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:16 AM ----------
Maybe your provider doesn't push the correct network settings to the phone, I once had a phone like that.
Maybe the provider has a manual on how to do the right settings manually.

Hi Guys,
Motorola pushed update with 5G support for Airtel and VI but not fro Jio. Their chatbots (lol) are saying that it's under development and will be provided but no timeline.
1- Are we really getting the update from Motorola?
2- Are there any custom ROMs that support Jio 5G?
Please help with above queries.
Easy enable 5g (g play -> force LTE app -> set NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/gsm/Wcdma -wow omg - a 5g icon appeared on top, omygod wow, how is this possible (to be honest, your operator has access to the phone and for your phone it has its own Operator user profile (motoedge20pro) and until the operator himself decides to turn on 5g for you, no updates will give you 5g, except for this crutch that I showed
Omg omg woow it's not Working lol.
It still shows 4g in the settings, the non 5g sim is actually SA network but in India we got only update for NSA so it's not working.
Noob tricks already tried no use

Brother, it's not that easy.
Every hardware has a software to support its operations which are called Drivers. In this case, Moto has released necessary software (drivers) for Airtel and Vi but not for Jio. Jio uses different technology and bands while Airtel and Vi use same technology.
The update is out Finally !!!!
Moto pushed the Android 13 update today on 25 th April 2023 ..
Along with it the jio SA 5G update also came . Now there is an option to switch to 5G in settings .
Enjoy
