I want to ask how to update to march patch? Before this i already update to march patch then my phone soft brick.. i already format my phone using fastboot method and install magisk patch.. i follow all the step just like before this.. but when i tried to update the installation problem showed.. i dont know what the problem.. the only different i notice is that when the first time i use magisk on december patch it is slot a.. after update to march it is slot b.. after the soft brick and fastboot methods.. after install magisk.. it is slot b.. now im stuck with december patch.. i really want to update to march patch and have magisk.. because i use gcam as my main camera.. and march patch really good with gcam because when i use the march patch the gcam totally stable.. this december patch sometimes force close.. can anyone help me? By providing me system.img vendor.img and boot.img. if i get this 3 file it will be a great help.. or do i need to change active slot to a back? If you have any others method i'm willing to give it a try
Just do one thing unroot your device..
Then reboot..
Again unlock bootloader & enable cam2api through temp root .. every detail is in XDA & then you are able to update security patch updates directly..
I also enabled camera2api & now my bootloader is unlocked & successfully updated today's security patch update !!

Hi all,
Looks like Oreo update is rolling out in India.
Source: https://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/moto-g5s-plus-android-8-1-oreo-update-rollout-begins-1859708
Did you got it
I have confirmed this from the support. They say it is true.
Can you send screenshot please?
Is it gonna be 64bit or 32bit ?
sorry, this is not a rollout, it is a release note.. the rollout could come in 1-2 months

You confirm it when people get oreo on their phone, not when lenovo say oreo is coming. Oreo has been coming for a year now.
You'll notice there's no source for that article.

Instead of Oreo update i just got security update of 1st June
I got the June security patch today.. Still no oreo..
They don't want to mess up with bugs, they are testing Oreo via soak testers and it would take at least one month to release Oreo final build for all users. So, jus wait for few days u will definitely get it.
Funny "just wait you will get it" , some people arent even getting the June security update, im not so sure how motorola sends out updates. If they are relying on carriers, then we likely wont get anything , this is why i usually forego the ota nonsense and just root/custon recovery/ custom rom , and never look back , i dont have the time to do that now

That's my last option. Will simply unlock the bootloader. Install TWRP, root and than install tonnes of custom roms simultaneously. Can't wait to install Viper4Android and Lucky patcher. The same what I did with my previous Moto E & Moto E2(otus) and now a g5s plus user.
I am not very eager to stick with Stock rom. But there are many roms out there filled with too many bugs, which made me to stick with the Stock.
I always unlock the BL first if i can , you can always get OTA after that unless you do custom recovery , or root ! I usually dont wait for OTA, because carriers usually scrap the idea of updates until theyve sold a few million of the fones first , by that time , the fone is old and then they feel theres no need to upgrade anyway because there Hawking a new better fone !
I've found another article on Oreo for Moto G5
https://support.motorola.com/us/en/Solution/MS130856
I too got security patch update only.

Seriously man this is so annoying, I was too waiting for the update and when I checked it was security patch update instead of oreo update. This is so disappointing.

Mine is FIG-LA1 with emui version 8.0.0.138
Mine is FIG-LX1 and emui 8.0.0.137(CO2)
Fig lx1 137
FIG-LX1 8.0.0.158(C432) running Phh-AOSP 9 with Magisk root.
New November security patch (139) came out for the fig la1. Haven't noticed anything new other than just the November security patch.

working very fine, but have to get used to it
i am on .168 but jumped to OmniRom Pie 9 GSI
tbh i was enjoying EMUI at first until "system" just started changing settings and preferences "for me" like auto updating apps from Playstore regardless of if i was on wifi or not ...turning on automatic scanning and automatic system updates by itself and the EMUI themes that fail mask all the icons started doing my head in ...and system started eating internal storage like a beast .....so now on Omnirom with magisk patch for camera , nfc I am soooo much happier , not to mention on a lighter Pie rom .:good:

Hi! I have FIG-LX1 running custom pie rom AOSPExtended 6.1. Runs like a charm
Hu
hey guys at present I'm using my a2 On Official Android One Rom With Bootloader unlock (camera2api) Enabled. Some Users Say that Android one rom is laggy And lot's of bugs. So I want You To suggest Me What Should I Do? Install A Costom rom On my device like (Pe or something else) Or Stay With Android One?
I recommend Pixel Experience CAF version. I'm currently using that since I got fed up with Android One updates. I have been on custom ROMs for quite some time actually. CAF version supports OTA so you don't have to flash it again with every update, camera2api is already enabled and there is a MIUI camera included, but you'll have to find a working GCam yourself though. I haven't actually experienced any bugs for now but people say there are few and those will be fixed in the next update.
Edit: Just to add a few reasons why I am against Android One since you wrote that some users reported issues with stock but not you yourself.
It all started with the September update(if I recall correctly, or maybe even earlier). The bug present in that update made the faster CPU cores lock up at maximum frequency if the fingerprint sensor is used which drained battery really quickly. It took them like 1-2 months to fix that one. Then came Pie update, a lot of stuff stopped working. The storage for some reason got really slow and clearing large app cache(especially Chrome cache) would freeze the device or even make it reboot. This is the issue they STILL haven't fixed.
With January 2019 update a lot of devices went into bootlops and got bricked. February update changed contrast of the display and made everything really bright, definitely brighter than it should have been. Now they fixed that issue in March update BUT the update bootloped/bricked some more devices again so they pulled it. Their updates have really become a joke, which is why I'm all for custom ROMs. Definitely more stable than stock.
Brothr can u share the link to the post or step by step process for installing custom pe rom ?

If you are flashing Pixel Experience you don't need to flash GApps, the rest is the same from the guide.
Thnq brthr :good:
I thinking same idea for months, but i have problem that i follow countless guides from forum here but i fail every to get PE CAF or Havoc rom to mine A2. I have every time black screen problem on instaling TWRP i couple times flash 10.0.2 version via mi flash tool, lock and unlock bootloader etc.. currenty i am on stock 10.0.7 with open bootloader because of camera2api, but i wanna clear phone from all the mess wanna clear both slots and finally instal succesfuly PE CAF version. Can someone provide some guide how to do it?
I am starting to be a little disappointed on the frequency of security patches for my eea mi 9... Is this substantially better on xiaomi.eu?
On the latest Xiaomi.eu we are running the September Security Patch
I think that Xiaomi is waiting for the release of Android Q to update the security patches
It's pretty odd that the mi9 SE has been sitting on MIUI 10.3 with july security patch for 2 weeks now while the mi 9 is stuck on june SP with miui 10.2. Basically the cheaper version is getting updated faster, so I guess they have some additional bugs to fix on the mi 9.
Well if they would fix idle battery drain I'd be happy with waiting...
Mi9 and I'm still on june security patch

Latest EU Q is supposed to be 9.8.22 (eu versions read as 2019.August.22, I've learnt that recently)

Being a lazy guy I always do dirty flashes. Coming from Global Dev (9.6.27) I simply flashed Xiaomi.EU (9.8.10 Android Q) over. Since then upgraded to 9.8.15 and now 9.8.22. Runs like charm.
Of course, recommendation always is 'clean flash'. But this one can still do in case a dirty flash doesn't work, isn't it?
Cheers

Yes you can use it as a daily driver for sure, there a few minor bugs but they doesn't affect your daily experience
I switched on another ROM only because I can't use the Google passwords autofill in third applications (outside of Chrome I mean)
Thanks All who replied. I am now running on EU Q ROM appears perfectLy stable and I love the enhanced dark mode that forces some apps without dark mode to look like dark mode.
As my boot loader was locked, unlocking wiped the phone so a dirty flash was not relevant or required

Unlocking my boot loader wiped the phone but glad to hear I can dirty flash future Q builds
It's quite obvious why this is happening. The Mi 9 is going to be one of the first phones in the world with Android Q, so it's obvious they are just developing for it, and stopped patching for Android Pie.
After all, this is a flagship, they will want to showcase Android Q on it as soon as possible.
I've got August security patch with 10.2.30 on EEA
Changelog of 10.2.30
Hi ...the intelligent developers of xda community...I recently purchased Rog phone II 8/128 tencent edition. It came with ww edition fingerprint as well ww rom . It also passes the safetynet test and Google pay works...it's stuck on October security patch though and Android 9 ...is there a way to get it to Android 10 and latest security patch. Manually downloading and putting the new rom in root folder does not work the phone detects the file but does not update it says updates failed.
Is there a way to update it?
Be or not to be...!
Hello, in order to be able to update you have to be on the latest A9 which is WW-1910.64 12/19/2019. From there you'll be able to upgrade to A10.
It works for me at least, using Asus updater app Wich you can find here in one of the threads.
There is 4 versions of the app, try them all until one of them works. Good luck amigo.
I have global and i dont get otas without root. Only when asus want send me the ota
Allways have to download manually
Best option is download package copy to storage and asus detect the package install reboot and done
