Mi A2 flashing of custom roms and bootloader unlocking question - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Hello,
If I have Oem Unlocking checked and my phone bootloops (I hope not, unlike others my phone has no bugs at all), can I unlock the bootloader from fastboot, flash twrp and then put the rom on the phone via usb mtp, flash rom&gapps / clear cache and dalvik and it will boot as normal ? I am lost since treble release.
I am on the 2nd March ota, but I have a bad feeling about the April ota... ( I like to update my phone as I had bad experinces -stolen id etc- )
Thanks in advance!

How to unlock bootloader and install EU Rom ?
I don't have my Mi Max 2 by now but i suppose it works like this:
1) Unlock the bootloader officially (there should be some tutorials for this as it works the same on all mi phones)
2) Download an adb/fastboot package
3) Download and flash TWRP (http://en.miui.com/thread-644074-1-1.html)
4) Start TWRP (Turn phone off and then hold Power and VoL- (or VOL+ - not sure) i think) and flash ROM, then SuperSU. Maybe you have to format data first to get rid of the encryption
5) done
I've got my device with unlocked bootloader. So no need to unlock again. Tried to OTA update, but never successful. Then tried flash global update rom manually from twrp (have to install first). Now I have latest update global rom abd of course with root (for some system mod ).
I don't know how to back to stock recovery and locked bootloader. But I will find away to do it someday

Failed to install global rom via mi flashing tool, now phone stuck on fast boot.

Solved !!!
I was able to flash global miui 9.5.
Hi ,
So after finally the bootloader is unlocked I tried to flash the global rom via mi flash tool.
Update failed and an error message is update crc list failed !
I tried flashing back the chinse rom and I get the same error.
I can boot the device to recovery mode, but its mi recovery 3.0, I have 3 options:
1.wipe data
2. boot to system
3. connect via pc suite
tried with pc suite but it says my device isn't supported.
The computer recognizes the device via MiFlash tool but in adb via cmd when I type adb devices I get blank row and its unable to find the device.
how can I make my phone usable again please?
I have tried many things I found on google but nothing worked.
Thank you all

yes the phone is in fastboot mode, and I cant back to normal mode for regular use.
I tried to unlock again like you said it the program said the device is already unlocked.
Have you tried the first option, wipe data?
Don't panick, since you have fastboot mode it's not bricked. Let's start by booting into TWRP.
Download TWRP and put it in the same directory with your FASTBOOT.exe file.
Open a windows dos prompt and get to the same directory as your FASTBOOT file.
Reboot your phone into FASTBOOT mode.
in your DOS prompt type "Fastboot boot yourrecoveryfilename.img" (change the yourrecoveryfilename.img to the TWRP recovery image file you downloaded)
your phone should reboot into TWRP if there wasn't an error. TWRP won't be permanent (if you reboot out of TWRP it won't retain it), but will allow you to flash ROM.
I've only ever flashed all my ROMs through TWRP, never used anything else since i unlocked the phone.
Let me know how this goes.
fastboot .exe file, where can i get it

Hello all.
Big screw up, I think. So I've had my MI 8 for a while now, no issues, until today I decided to install official lineage on it. The bootloader was unlocked. I flashed TWRP, but every time I rebooted the phone, it would go back to stock recovery, not TWRP. So here the issue started:
- Via Mi flash tool, I reflashed global MIUI 10 back to stock. I didn't realize I had relocked the bootloader...
- I tried reflashing TWRP without realizing I had relocked the bootloader.
- Thinking that the TWRP flash was done incorrectly again, I simply wanted to go back to stock, and attempted to use the mi flash tool to reflash, once again, the global stock MIUI 10. the flash tool said it was a success. (I still didn't realize I was on a locked bootloader)
- I am now on a bootloop. I can't get past the stock recovery screen, but I can go into fastboot. The recovery screen has a warning that the ROM cannot be used on the phone.
- I tried re unlocking the bootloader with the unlock tool, but because my Mi account credentials are not input on the phone (the phone was wiped clean), I cannot re unlock it.
What can I do? How can I get out of the bootloop, and hopefully re unlock and flash global rom clean again?

I finally got around fixing this. It turns out my phone was China, with Global ROM. So I did an EDL test point method and paid someone with an authorized account to access my laptop remotely to Flash the latest China ROM. I waited the required period for bootloader unlocking, and it's back alive!
I'm running official lineage 16, and I'm pretty happy with the results. I'm Using it as a daily driver instead of my all stock pixel 2 XL. No issues.

That's great news! It sucks that you were tricked into thinking your that phone is a global version. But at least you able to get things permanently sorted.

Get back to stock an relock bootloader

Hi all,
I have a Mi 9 europe version and want to get back to stock.
The current status of my device is:
- Bootloader unlocked
- TWRP
- flashed GSI FlokoRom
Can I just put the phone into fastboot mode and flash (10.2.24.0 PFAEUXM from there) with MI flash tool as mentioned there? Is it possible to relock the bootloader after this or will it brick my device?
I recommend you to flash rom WITHOUT LOCKING at first time. Even if something is wrong you should be able to flash twrp and then flash any rom.
But if after flashing your ohone boot up normally, flash it again and tick LOCK BOOTLOADER. Simple and secure way to get stock phone.

Question 12 Pro Bootloop - bricked?

Hi everyone,
I'm afraid that my 12 Pro commited suicide... :/
It's pretty new, only 2 weeks old now. I was using it with the latest Xiaomi.eu ROM a did not have any problems - tilll yesterday.
Out of nowhere it started lagging and crashed during normal use. After the reboot it seemed to be fine again.
But in the following hours it crashed several times and rebooted by itself. Even while sitting on the table with screen off.
Finally it ended in a bootloop.
What I've tried so far:
- reflash Xiaomi.eu ROM without wiping data
- reflash Xiaomi.eu ROM with data wipe
- reflash Global ROM with the Mi Flash Tool and "clean all"
- reflash Global ROM with the Mi Tool, "clean all" and Relock Bootloader
- factory reset in stock recovery
- start without inserted SIM card
What is working:
Fastboot
Recovery Mode (and ADB sideload using the Mi Tool option in recovery mode)
Unlocking the BL using the official Xiaomi Unlock tool
Occasionally it boots into system but crashes afer a short time, so I'm not eben able to complete the setup assistant.
Most of the time it just hangs at the boot screen (the one with the Mi Logo, "Powered by Android" text and open lock at the top).
Any suggestions how to bring it back to life?
Pio
It sounds like hardware problems.
Flash it back to the original rom that came with the phone.
Then check if the problem occurs again or not.
When not than it is a problem with the EU rom, and when it has the same problem it probably is an hardware issue.
Unlock bootloader again.
Flash with full Chineese ROM (i assume that yours is a Chinese edition) with the option bootloader relock selected.
Please note, you are good to flash Global ROM on the top of any Chinese ROM including xiaomi.eu ROM. But do not choose relocking because it will brick your phone permanently.
Avoid your step,
"- reflash Global ROM with the Mi Tool, "clean all" and Relock Bootloader"

Nope, I have the Global Edition.
So flashing the Chinese Rom and locking the BL is probably not the best idea
The device is at the service center at the moment, let's hope it won't take too long.
Worst out of worst, I can perform soldering and replace the nand chip of the device to recover it
I got my 12 Pro back und it's running fine so far.
Have had some random reboots in the past but they seem to be gone since the .18 update
Hi
That's exactly what I did. Is there any way to fix it?

What a situation?
You have locked the bootloader on a CN version with a Global rom or vice versa?

I opened the bootloader and uploaded the global rom to Chinese. I locked the bootloader. I got into a loop. Now I can't open the bootloader to load the new firmware

Question Unstoppable bootloop after flashing bad boot img

Hi everyone, I wanted to root my phone because my google pay way not working after I unlocked the bootloader of my phone.
I used magisk to flash a version for my redmi 2201117TY, but after using fastboot to flash my "patched" rom back to my phone, it is now booting over and over again.
I installed twrp to try to install another ROM, but I'm not sure it'll work.
I installed several redmi note 11 img to see if it would fix it but i did not (V13.0.6.0.SGKEUXM, V14.0.2.0.TGKMIXM and V13.0.3.0.SGKEUSF which was my original one i suppose)
I just want to have an usable phone even if it means cleaning everything. How can I format everything back to make it usable?
I have access to adb, fastboot, TWRP. (usb debugger on)
I am not sure I can find the exact rom as it was a really wierd version from my operator (SGKEUSF) and I can only find one on internet which happen to not work. How can I unbrick my phone now?
NOTE : the SGKEUSF is an overlayer of the SFR (Altis) network so i would rather not use it
Format (not wipe) data in twrp, flash a rom that fits your needs (on sdcard), reboot recovery (!), reboot system. If fastboot access is given it's fixable. Had the same thing many times with spesn. This is the way it always works for me.
When you say "flash a rom", you mean a recovery or a fastboot one? Does it have an influence?
Just download latest version of MiFlash, download RN11 fastboot ROM, flash the ROM via MiFlash. In MiFlash make sure to to check the box whether of not to lock the bootloader after flash. Just to be safe leave it unlocked until after the phone is safe.
