Hi.
I recently bought a Mi8 and it comes with MIUI 10.0.2.0
Based on the features added in PIE and the battery Time, do you recommend to upgrade?
P.D. When i turn on the phone ir says "Unlocked" at the bottom of the screen, so i guess Is a chinesse phone with a global ROM.
Thanks!

Hello
i've a Mi 8 global version (locked bootloader, waiting the time to unlock) with the last Global Stable rom 10.0.2.0 (Oreo). I'd like to switch to the developer rom version (Pie) but i get an error and i can't do it. So the question is: can i come back to miui 9 latest stable rom and then swith to developer one? If yes, how? Thank you for the answers

Yes, im a Chinese variant using global and I always flash full ROM update from TWRP or the built-in internal ROM updater. I don't use the miui computer software updater app, because too easy for accidental clean and lock causing brick by locking bootloader.
hi guys, I ordered Mi8 128gb from geekbuying couple weeks ago, phone will come in few days

I read many problems with Mi8 and unlocked bootloader with Global ROM, I am not sure what will come to me but I am wondering... can you answer me:
- how can I check if bootloader is unlocked?
- if it will come with Global MIUI Stable, can I use it and update easily with OTA? what is problem with unlocked bootloader and Global MIUI?
- i read many issues with Bricking phone, how to avoid this?
thank you
Anyone tried flashing the android 10 chinese rom on global version? Will I still be able to come back to global? Tried xiaomi.eu android 10 but it still has bugs. I'm also curious about the chinese rom that's why ask if it is possible.

I think it is possible as chinese rom can be converted to global. But why do that. As far as I know chinese rom does not come with google play.
It's possible , i tried it ,never loved it , returned back to global miui 11 android 9 after less than 15 minutes.
now there is update to android 10 global but there is no custom recovery or rooting support till now.
Hi guys,
I have recently bought a Mi Pad 4 Plus LTE and I changed the original chinese ROM with the latest Xiaomi.eu (MIUI 10.3.2 ODJCNXM) with Android 8.1.0.
I would like to change to another ROM because I am experiencing some crashes with apps and games and I have two questions:
1 - If I install a custom ROM with Android 10, can I later come back and install MIUI 10 with Android 8?
2 - Do you also know a good rom with good battery life and without bugs?
Thanks in advance,
sorry for my english,
Davide
I have been waiting for the miui 12.5 update for my xiaomi mi 9 lite (EU) since July 2021 anyway. only the gobal and russian version have already come out and i'm still waiting now and since miui13 on android 11 has already been announced for mi 9 lite i have a feeling the 12.5 isn't coming. Is there anyone here who can tell me if the update is coming or if I can switch to the global version without losing all my data?
I have a European sim card and it should still work! I've heard stories about xiaomi phones with EU SIM card that all work with English as language
The bootloader is unlocked.
Unfortunately EEA roms are always hit or miss when it comes to updates due to EU regulations. I wouldn't hold my breath for any updates past the last one we got way back in early 2021 (MIUI 12).
I highly doubt this device will receive MIUI 13 as it has already reached EOL (and was never really a popular model, sadly). You should be able to flash the Global version of MIUI 12.5 or a custom rom like Xiaomi.EU though; there are guides on the forum that you can follow.
I can switch tot gobal but works my simcard ? And is it a update? Or is my data gone?

Your SIM should work without any problems, however you will need to wipe your device clean to switch roms.
