How is you camera shooting? As i see the 3 Mpx camera should take also good pictures, but mine dont!
The camera is moving very slow, and almost always the pictures are smudged!
How is it for you, and is there any fix (a have tried several different ROM-s, and the same)
Thanks
What radio are you using? A lot of camera issues are resolved when you flash the recommended radio to go with it.
hi guys i know this question is bit annoying but i would like to know if this is possible to make our camera when taking picture to continuously focus on a object and when i change the camera position it automatically focus on object, i notice that when im taking picture using o2x it took almost 3seconds sometimes 5-6 seconds to focus and that's really annoying, specially when im taking a picture of me together with my friends our smile is fading before the camera focus itself perfectly and i believe if this feature include on our camera it can take photos much faster
i saw a youtube video o4xHD vs o2x i dont know if thats the video but from what i saw o2x camera taking some time to focus but the o4x it continuously taking picture quickly when touch the capture button on screen
so is there a possibility to make this mod in our camera so it can enhance the capturing time
are you on v28 ics?
v30 ICS camera is 2x/3X faster with everything you do with camera app
and v30 does have better flash photo's (not overexposed by flash)

I agree. May be not quite 2-3 times faster in my experience, but definitely faster. And yes, flash also works well. It may not be a very typical usage of a phone camera, but today I had to make a couple of photos of printed pages (very small font, about 6pt) with a flash in a poorly lit room, and the quality was well beyond my expectations. Perfectly readable text, nice contrast and minimal noise, with no editing at all.
yes im on v28, good to hear but is there any possibility to mod our camera to take photos much faster without focusing 2-3 seconds everytime i took pictures? i know our camera hardware is not design like that but it is possible?

a camera that is not focusing make blurry pix.
however tap the screen to focus manual and then take a picture reduces the time.
first thing you might do is install v30 ICS because it has a faster cam

Hi,
the criteria for me to make a rom change to CM10 are the camera and FM Radio. I was on CM7 where both work very good.
Last night I tested pengus cm10 rom and must say it´s excellent. Speed and smoothness are amazing, much better than cm7! And as I read in pengus kernel forum, battery life is even great. Thank you for your fantastic work, pengus and tonyp!!!
I tested FM Radio and its working great too, big thanks to mikereidis and sudden36!!!
The only thing is, that I´m not sure which camera is the best for this rom. And as I read many others have this problem too. I had the problem that photos in darkness sometimes have a big exposure. But I need a full working camera like in cm7. So I went back to cm7 but want to come back to this rom.
There are lot of camera mods out there but I have lost the overview.
Any suggestions/experiences?
I´m on pengus rom again.
I tried the CM10 cam which is onboard and installed the fix from pengus. Quality in normal light is good but in dark light I get the over exposure I mentioned above.
Tried signed_JB_camera_feav.apk (pengus advice in his cm10 thread) which only sometimes have an over exposure. Then I have to take a second photo from the same object. Camera focuses again and the photo is now good.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163473
I also tried Snap Camera HDR from the market. Quality is nearly the same as camera from feav but nearly no over exposure in dark light. But sometimes it´s worse / darker than feavs camera.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marginz.snap&hl=de
I think I will stay with both, maybe I test some more cam mods.
Thank you feav for your cam mods. It´s nearly perfect. I will use it! :good:
Hope this helps!
Hi peoples,
As many of you, I too have autofocus issue. In the first moment after staring the camera app everything is fine and then the autofocus kicks in and puts everything out of focus. Close captures work out well but infinity is always blurry ..
So... lots of users share the opinion that the optical parts (the multiple lenses) are not moving accordingly and can never achieve focus due to a hardware problem. Therefore the camera unit needs to be replaced which is nearly impossible if you don't have a warranty. (If you do have warranty you get a brand new phone lol)
BUT... everything is in focus in the first half a second after starting the app right? So I thought switching off the autofocus will help and I think it does! I am running latest Venom ROM 4.4.3 with Sense. The latest sense camera doesnt have AF switch but I found this nifty app called "A Better Camera" and it does offer AF lock. So - after starting the app, first thing press the AF round button on the left and choose AF lock. In this was the phone never gets to try to focus and the focal lenght stays on infinity (I assume...) which gives you much more detail.

"A BETTER CAMERA" WITH LOCKED AF: http://imgur.com/qhH1de6
Well bottomline - its FAR from good but somehow better (?)
what do you think? - try with your faulty units and maybe upload your examples here?
cheerz,
Kalin
Is there any non OOS based ROM with a perfectly working fingerprint scanner and primary camera. Something that's really stable?
Everything you find in this forum is perfectly stable, maybe with the exception of MIUI.
Oneplus limited custom ROMs by not releasing sources that would make slow motion video, HDR and the "HQ" mode work. This means these are broken on all non OOS based ROMs.
The fingerprint scanner will also get a bit slower, but it's still gonna beat an iPhone.

Would you recommend the jump from oxygen OS at the expense of, what you state to be, worse low light performance, removal of features like slow motion videos and HDR, and the slowing of the fingerprint sensor... I suppose it depends if you use the camera then and enjoy the speed of your phone unlock?

This is totally wrong. MIUI Xs is the only non OOS rom where the camera works perfectly including auto-HDR, Slow Motion and HQ as it is based on H2Os. I am using this build and it even has ota support for miui weekly. Don't flash any other builds like wu or ruy09 etc. Use this build : https://mega.nz/#!H5xEEARQ!jIFx7bad4wBN3s1xXmEd6-8EQGQETMD9_EWsjYWMWSM

Aside from the fact that MIUI doesn't boot on my device, it should be pretty stable. I seriously couldn't care less about the camera as long as it screws my phone up.
I like MIUI. Believe me, I tried. I downloaded every single version I could find, flashed all of them, none of them booted. Flashed fine, but then black screen, white notification LED, computer recognized the phone as Qualcomm debug mode. Yeah...
Works for some, not for me. And I'm not alone with this.

Try this Version. Believe me .... DO a clean flash --> Wipe everything including internal memory and flash from adb sideload.
Make sure your file system is F2FS and not EXT4. Update to latest nougat OOS and then flash as said above !!
If u want I can show my miui by uploading a video to youtube !!

Since we use 7.1.1 blobs from openbeta3 on this unofficial op3t optimized lineage build most camera issue are gone - OnePlusCamera from openbeta3 is included additionally.
Fingerprint sensor was never an issue on these builds.

How did you manage to fix the fingerprint sensor issue? Every other LOS ROM has this issue.....:good:

Sounds strange. Is HDR working? Because I couldn't get it to work even on OOS based ROMs.

Honestly: I don't know. To my own surprise it was just working. The only remaining issue: if you want to add a fp, you need to wait for some seconds before starting to register new fp; otherwise the fps is working as home button.

HDR on back cam is working - no HDR on front cam. What's still missing is raw.
I'm no photographer and I lack a good judgment for stills. I suggest you take a nandroid and check yourself if the rom (especially the cam) matches your demands.

I tried, but just like on OOS based ROMs, I cannot tell the difference between HDR being on or off. That's despite me giving it a challenging lighting situation.
With my Nexus 5, HDR photos had no EXIF info. At least no things such as ISO, exposure time. With the OP3T, I have full EXIF, which shouldn't be possible, because the whole point of HDR is that I don't have a single ISO value and a single exposure time value.
Due to the EXIF situation and the fact that I cannot tell a difference between pictures with HDR on and off, I concluded that it is not working. Am I the only one with this problem?
Can someone upload pictures taken back to back, where one was taken with HDR on and the other with HDR off?

There's a work around for this. Use on screen nav bar. And then register all your fingerprints. Turn it off afterwards if you don't want.

I think waiting some seconds is the better (aka faster) workaround: changing to onscreen nav bar and reverting back takes about 10ms. Waiting for 5 s takes 5 s... Just a matter of peesonal taste. Work around the workaround...
