Very nice weather widget. Check it out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987521
It is a nice app.....good find and thanks for sharing.
Thanks. I feel better now that I have a reply to my post. lawl.
Someone else actually posted it last night in the Phoenix 7.0 thread.
This works great on Serendipity 6.2. I just dropped the apk in system/app with Root Explorer.
I just had to add my location manually and then restart the widget to get it to show up.
Root Explorer looks like it copies the app but it dont show in the sys\app folder no matter what I do. It is set to R/W Thanks for any help.
Good find. Installed in and works perfectly.

What ROM are you using? Will it allow "side loading" or "Non-Market" apps?

Hi All,
I have an Australian Wifi Xoom - i recently GEDified it and updated it to the latest US ICS build.
One thing I miss from when i had the stock OS that came with my Xoom is the File explorer.
will it be possible for someone to upload the Apk for it? My device has not been rooted as i want to keep it as stock as possible.
Astro file explorer... I use that... its great.

I know this is old but I've tried it. I made a backup of the File Manager from my Xoom with stock honeycomb and installed it on 4.1 and it crashes.

I've tried Astro but have been using File Manager HD for a while and I like it for its simplicity. It can be used on rooted or non-rooted devices (just look at the settings menu for root capabilities).

Hi friends,
I completely followed the tutorial give in this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1700749&page=191
Before that I rooted my phone and also installed CWM5 Recovery too.
Now the problems I am facing are:-
Messaging app not working, says "Could not launch the requested activity"
Apocalypse UOT not working
I am attaching the screenshots for reference, please help; I couldn't reply on development thread
For the message problem, it is because apocalypse is a barebone rom which means that some system app like mms.apk and camera.apk are remove to make the rom lighter. But this SMS problem can be solved easily by downloading a SMS app like GO sms or by putting back the mms.apk back into the system/app folder and set the permissions correctly (rw- r-- r--). As for the theme, just apply and ignore the missing assets pop up. Hope it helped you

Thanks bro, I was in process of restoring old apps and yes, SMS is working now. I can't find inbuilt camera app, installed camera 360, but that doesn't support recording. Could you suggest one that will work with this ROM?
As for camera and video recording I don't have any recommendations but go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1761840
And I am sure there will be a camera.apk attached to one of the post there.
You can install it by putting the camera.apk in the system/app folder and setting the correct permissions rw- r-- r--.
Am glad to help
Edit: if you cannot find it, go to the third page of the thread and look for a post by amrith.28 he have the camera.apk attached to his post.

Thanks a lot bro. I want to remove the included recording app, but getting no option to do that :s Also, some of the apps got installed, others are giving error maybe because of permission thing you talked about. Is there a guide I should follow?
Thanks

For those permissions, download any explorer (e.g root explorer) and go to system/app and long press on the app that you want to change the permissions and then a pop-up will appear. After that, scroll to permission. Click on it and set the permission like that rw- r-- r-- and then reboot your phone. Screenshots of how to do it below: sorry for replying that late

Hey, thanks for the response I'm gonna do it right away, could you tell me about uninstalling ROM apps too? I am not finding a way to uninstall them :/
download any explorer (e.g root explorer) and go to system/app and long press on the app that you want to delete and then a pop-up will appear. After that, scroll to delete and press delete. Then reboot your phone. The app should be gone now

Sounds cool, I did install root explorer earlier today, will try what you told me One doubt, will this method remove the app completely? I mean like in windows we have certain registry entries, that remain if we delete program files; isn't there anything like that in linux (me linuxnoob)?
Hey, I tried to change the permissions and got the error. Please check the attachment.

Which apk is that, camera.apk? If so, place the apk file in the system/app folder first then change the permission. Do not change the permission in your sdcard.
