What if I only want to use the contacts off of my sim card and not contacts saved to phone or from my Google account? Is this possible?
Yes, contacts -> display options uncheck google and facebook.
Do I need to "Import from SIM card". With my Vibrant and any other GSM phone I just slide the SIM in and there are my contacts shown off of my SIM. Does stock Android not do this?
I imported my SIM contacts and in display options under Choose contacts to display. Only Google is showing up AND I am showing triple contacts in my phonebook, YES THREE OF EACH CONTACT. What the HECK is going on. A little frustrated with this.

Click to collapse
first of all, in contacts under accounts, uncheck sync contacts.
then delete all the phone contacts (you may use mass contact delete app from market).
then import from sim card.
in this way, no repetitions and only sim contacts would be displayed on the phone.
also if you want to manage the contacts on phone and on the sim use "contacts to sim" app from market.
hope it helps.
and also to mange the contacts of your gmail, in pc go to gmail, then on left side, click contacts.
and in options click merge duplicates. it does it.
but again duplicates. lol
so what i did is deleted the gmail contacts and if it again backups i delete again.
hope it helps.
Thanks for your assistance. I just wish that "SIM" would show under "Accounts" just as it does in my Samsung Vibrant.
I'm a newbie on Android.. Can Any one tell me How can I Import My CDMA SIM contacts on my HTC HERO 200.. There's only showing that I can Import Vcard from SD card.. Is there any other way to Import SIM contacts????
HELP NEEDED URGENTLY!!!
Gmail should've saved all your contacts. Should have em after u set ur Gmail up.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA
not exactly sure how to do that, but for the future it might be lucrative to save all your contacts to gmail or google voice, so that way it will sync them to your phone if you decide to try other roms. may have to type them out by hand the first time, but it saves headaches later on. good luck
Were are the contacts stored that you want to transfer??? And were do you want them transfered to ?? I'm kinda puzzled as to what your trying to do. Do you have contacts from a previous phone stored on a sim card and you want to import them to the hero ??? Or do you have contacts stored on your hero that you want to transfer to a different device.??

Hi everyone,
I'm having some trouble managing contacts with this ROM, because when I try to import SIM contacts to default adress book (sugestted in ROM thread because I think it's not possible to just show SIM contacts), it stops at 100% and I have to click "Cancel", then almost all the contacts appear are replicated 5 times.
Is there any app I could use to replace default adress book? LG deafult app?
Best regards
Problem Solved
Problem solved.
Solution: After remove all contacts from phone (not sim) import all contacts from SIM to phone (gmail account) using "Touchpal Contacts".
To add a contact to the SIM card I use "SIM Contacts" very simple yet very effective app.
Hi,
I've taken an export from the HTC Messaging app on my HTC One so I can easily import this into my phone again. I'm wanting to put this into my Moto G as well, but the Messaging app (native Android 4.3 version) doesn't have an import setting.
Does anyone have any ideas how to do this? Can it be done? I know there are programs on the Play market for Export / Import, but I don't have my HTC One anymore so I can't take another export.
Thanks
