"Assume kernel as water and toolchain (gcc, clang) as a glass of water.
we drink water with different glasses of water which have different style & shape and performance.
toolchain can be optimized to see the kernel codes like if we calculate 1+1+1=3 then toolchain can see it as 1x3=3
i see gcc for stability if clang acts abnormally while clang gives better performance.
*DTC (dragon toolchain) is based on clang.
*google ships pixel phones with clang.
*xiaomi & other oem ships phones with gcc
4.9"

Can you mod a kernel for cm6
Its already made just add more features? ????

I would imagine there's a few guys working on this? Good work getting it out first.
Gonna give it a go!
Question, is the original kernel BFS or did you add that in? Just curious as I really like the UI smoothness of the stock .17 and I have absolutely 0 knowledge of linux besides what i've picked up from reading xda.
Thanks so much for cookin this up, smells good!

Did you have issues with this kernel? BFS really should be better suited for phones where a smooth UI is important.

and no, i havent had issues, but in the past ive found cfs to be much more stable and reliable.
Make this for aosp please. Ziggy stopped doing them, King's had some issues, and Koush's test doesn't have all the governors enabled.

DHD optimization works on IncS too???

Well it's a bit that this question is killing myself...
Every day on rom forum I read:

Ok, now the only difference that I known between this 2 devices are:
()front camera
()100mb+ rom for dhd
()0.3 inch of screen (seems one is s-lcd the other lcd)
While cpu and cpu should be the same...
So, when I see that a rom has been optimized for dhd, I should be happy because will works well on IncS or I shoudn't give a damn because that optimizations are lost in the port or don't work?
Thank you.

AFAIK, most tweaks should work on IncS, including those in build.prop and some general tweak like SD readahead buffer. But if the tweak is related to the kernel, then we're out of luck.
OK, thank you; Now I can sleep quietly xD

Any suggestions on what/which rom, kernel, governor to use to have a great gaming experience on our S Advance ?

I would suggest you CM11 based ROM, for example Dirty Unicorns. I'm using it and I feel its gaming performance is good.
Governor and I/O scheduler I would suggest pegasus/ondemand with sio. You can also use performance as governor but keep in mind that it will always clock at max cpu frequency. Remember to change to other governor after exit the game if you don't want to have excessive battery drain.
I will try, thanks.
What do you think about sioplus ?
EDIT: This is what Flo0008 said
Flo0008 said:
Hi everybody, some days ago I built DirtyUnicorns from source ... A very nice rom with lots of features ... In Build 1 there is no sound during a call, only during calls ... so I decided to update this build with the latest Source from Dirty Unicorns ... The same result, sound is working fine during playing music or things like this, but during a phone call I couldn't hear any sound.
I hope anybody can help me I took already a look onto the lib/modules, everything looks good.
Thanky in advance, Flo

I'm using the Stuxnet kernel too - though your question is impossible to answer. It really depends on your use, combined with the governor/min-max processor speeds etc. Most of the kernel variables are accessible for all custom kernels.
Also, what is battery performance? Days on standby, or hours of screen'on time? Browsing or gaming..?
It's very easy to limit battery consumption by reducing screen brightness, running a conservative governor, not using the upper available frequencies etc.
I'd say that they make a bigger difference than swapping between stable kernels.

here in my view battery performance means Screen On Time..!!!
A search would have answered this. There is no best. Try them each out for yourself.

Thanks for the feedback!
Just flashed this kernel, looks pretty smooth.
cam works, videos don't work with Google cam.
Got no deep sleep. Same problem as with agni.
I'm thinking that it might be caused by the cam.
I'm on aicp 12,with stock kernel my cam doesn't work but I have perfect deep sleep. On kernels where my cam works I don't get any deep sleep anymore. Other assumption would be wifi, even tho it works perfect.
Please let me know what infos you need?
