My Moto X entered a bootloop yesterday after draining out. I've tried reflashing my custom ROM, doing a full wipe and still the phone refuses to turn on.
It is worth noting that the battery itself was already on a pretty bad state.
Is changing my battery the only way out ? I'd be really grateful for some help, thanks in advance.
My moto g5 s plus battery starts draining as i connect it to the charger(any charger, turbo or simple). But after some time when i disconnect it, the battery goes up. while charging it is draining but actually in background it is charging. what is happening with my device? can anyone please help me?
Possibilities you should check:
• May be it's because software problem on your phone. Have you rooted your phone? If yes, then sometimes it happens when we root our phone. Better to do factory reset your phone.
• Second possiblity is their may be an app who run on background; better to uninstall all unnecessary application's which you don't use much more.
• Third possiblity, it may be because the battery of phone is not real/fake.
• Charging port may be broken from inside hence your phone misbehaving and not showing that your phone is charging/not or gives you false result.

After updating to the ota april update, 2018 I started facing the same issue of my phone discharging while the charging cable was connected. The battery would randomly drain while unplugged and the battery drain was faster than with the March security update. Phone was not rooted when this happened, the battery is te same as the original battery I got with the phone, the charger is the original Moto g5s plus turbo charger. After facing this issue, I unlocked my bootloader and reverted to the March update, this improved my battery life but im still facing the charging issue.
No battery drain but only charging time issue after April patch.
Is your problem solved?

I'm curious to know if you have found a way to solve this problem. I'm also facing this battery issue since two days. And I'm with unlocked bootloader.
Hi.
I had my phone stolen in Paris so now it's back to the Moto X for the foreseeable future. It had stock KK on it but most apps do not work on that version. I officially updated via OTA today to LP and all my apps that I needed are working fine, but the problem is the cell standby battery drain.
Was there ever a workaround?

I fixed it.
Don't update all the motorola bloatware after a factory reset (spotlight stories, moto connect etc) then the battery drain goes away. If you update these apps after a reset then the battery drain is unreal.
I've been using the phone now for 4 months with stock 5.1 and its perfectly functional and gets me through a day with light use.
I have installed Lineage 13 as stock 5.1 was just getting too hot for no reason and storage was a joke with all the moto bloatware. So on reflection I would not recommend stock 5.1 if you can flash and root.
Hi.
I'm currently using my old moto x with stock android 5.1. due to unforseen circumstances.
After upgrading to 5.1 I noticed that the original battery was shot so I replaced the battery, which was a bit of a nightmare but I got it done in the end.
Anyway I noticed that the new battery still wasn't so great so I've been looking at the battery page and noticed that the device is constantly awake. Now I know to moto x has two contextual cores to listen to voices and movement etc. so maybe this keeps the phone awake? If so it seems a bit silly.
I think I will have to reset the phone to see if the cores or an app I have installed.
I have a moto one Power and a g5 plus... The g5 plus gets lte+ and around 16mbps speed on jio Sim whereas the one power never catches lte+ and internet speed barely exceeds 500kbps...why is my one power not catching lte+.. Is there anything I can do?
