Galaxy S5 (SM-S903VL) Unlock [Straight Talk/TracFone] - Galaxy S 5 General

Y'all might be thinking this is a request but it's not, it's to remind everyone of the TracFone (parent company) unlocking policy and website to get your device unlocked. I just got one of these S5 handed to me last night so after some digging and seeing a lot of effort put into this device but to no ends, maybe this can help you guys out.
I literally had the step-by-step instructions given to me to unlocking, as long as you got the criteria. Someone like @DeepPurple72 who would meet the criteria I'm sure lol
TracFone Wireless Unlocking Policy
Hope it helps. (Maybe this will help with other TracFone devices for others too idk)
Also, to get to the TracFone unlock menu (where you'll put the code(s) in) dial #83865625#

hello bro i have exactly the same phone as yours SM-S903VL please can you help me unlock it thanks.

Question on location while unlocking ATT Tilt

Hi,
I am just new here, and I am so glad that I found this forum.
I might sound stupid, but just wanted to check if I can get some help on the dilemma I am facing. My dad just bought ATT Tilt as a gift for me. I live in India so I need to be able to unlock it so that I can use it with the local service provider. I was thinking of buying an unlock code based on the IMEI.My question is should I be physically present in US to be able to unlock it this way?
Thanks,
Stevens
I don't think it matters where you are calling from. The important thing is to call the ATT customer care and tell them your dilemma. And depending upon the person that you speak, they may give you the unlock code over the phone.
If you call and do not get a favorable reply, hang up and keep trying. Eventually, you'll run into someone that will help you.
You dont have to be here
When you insert a foreign SIM, it i will ask for a code and all you have to do is punch it in...won't matter where you are.

HOW TO UNLOCK MY G1 for free (operator orange)

hi everyone ,is there any way to unlock my G1 orange frensh operator for free??????
need your help
I'm not sure if this will work, but I'm in the process of trying it myself.
The android dev phone is sim-unlocked by nature from my understanding. I'm planning to install the dev phone ROM on my phone, then try switching it back to a non-dev and hoping the sim-unlock sticks.
If you're a T-mo customer, just ask them for the unlock code and they will give it for free.
If you got your phone online from somewhere else (like me) they should give it to you, but I was on the phone with T-Mo last night. I escalated to two supervisors before I tired of them telling me to just 'contact HTC' for the hundredth time.
Either way, unless you pony up some cash it looks like this is going to be annoyingly drawn out.
as far as i'm aware, the ONLY way to sim-unlock your phone atm is to ask T-Mobile (or your current network) for an unlock code. They wont always give you it though. There are ways of doing it cheap, like though various unlocking websites, but no free ways i don't think.
After spending much of the last 24 hours troubleshooting various sequential errors in the process of getting my phone to dev state for the sim unlock, I'm all but giving up for the night.
I'll have to try again tomorrow.

You can't sim unlock your phone by flashing a rom. It is based on your phone's IMEI number (which is why you can't use other people's unlock codes and vice versa). HTC unlocks the dev phones when they are made which is why they come unlocked

Have D3 still locked???...Post here please!...

Hello!
Hope this not bother too much, but as far I understand and because different posts on diferent threads, seems that several people like me, still have their D3 Network locked, so, may be we could try to get better help if we at least may know how many us are, and may be start to cross serial numbers o checking info in our locked phones in order to try to get some light on this bad luck.
By my side the infor that I have is:
Droid D3, still Network Locked and in Subsidy mode since by now Four online codes sellers was tested and all four sellers have the same 2 codes that didnt work.
By now, I also tested with "turbosim" clone card and neither success, the phone still locked.
Also tried to flash original Verizon 5.5.9 rom and later Xt883 rom with the hope that it may help to unlock gsm section, but no success.
My phone is marked as XT862 in back label and have a serial number with the following data (partial for security)
MSN: L826???FWK
(the ??? are other 3 chars but I provide the begin and end of my MSN serial in order to try to start track if the hard locks are from an specific batch of production...)
Thanks and best regards!
My Droid 3 in subsidy mode. I have same unlock code from 5 code sellers. Now I wait answer from cellunlocker.net, maybe they know anything.
Droid 3, Verizon, XT862
MSN: L826???RBH
+1 here.
I had codes directly from Verizon and it didn't work. 3 other codes from online vendors no good either.
= (
I have, however, escalated directly to Motorola, hopefully I will hear from them soon.
#L826***38N
In my humble opinion, the MEID and IMEI might be more important to trace rather than the serial number.
Hello leekslk!
Well, by your post,I hope if that motorola contact may could suggest some usefull info or help. Please, would You may comment about your progress if possible, so, I am sure that would be very gratefull.
Good luck, and best regards!
Well...still, may be around some other people with the Droid 3 still network locked????.... or what may change?... some luck in network unlock or take other routes?
Please, thanks in advance for comments.
Best regards!
@xaser66
Hi there, I have been requested by Motorola to send the unit back for them to provide a replacement (currently awaiting for the replacement unit to be sent out back to me, actually I wished they sent me a Droid 4). But this is after an escalation to management (yes, I do tend to make a big fuss).
If you could try to contact Motorola (i.e by sending a not-so-satisfied email as a loyal long-time customer (posing even) to a high level management executive) that could help.
Otherwise I was told that standard procedure would be to return the phone to where you purchased and get another one. I was even asked to sell the phone online so another Verizon user could use it, and thereafter get another one.
I hope this helps, I was asked explicitly not to reveal email addresses/direct contacts. It might have been worse-off if I didn't have a Verizon account, etc (I had an escalation (also) and case-notes with Verizon which Motorola checked and verified).
Further, if it was convenient and out of curiosity, where did you purchased your Droid 3?
BTW there's a long thread on the D2g forum about this problem, seem that there's a an unlucky selection of D2g and D3 that are unlockable for unknown reasons
Hello!
@ leekslk
Thanks for take time to post... well, seems that in my case it is worst by now... I bought my phone on Ebay, from a seller that sold me it with Clean ESN, so I supposed that this will fair enough to have not trouble in got unlocked by code. However since the first time I didnt have luck, and try to settle with the seller but it ad on ebay clearly said Clean ESN and for use in Verizon, so, may be hard to rise a case against it, apart that I already soend on pay the import taxes and shipping to my country, so, try to return it will make an additional lost, becuase have to pay for the international return shipping... :-(
@ The Solutor
Thanks for psot and try help again, I would like to ask You if could post me a link with this long thread since by now I already read so many things around that I am confused about what to follow.
Thanks to all and best regards!

Thanks Solutor!...
Well, by now I already bought another "turbosim" version with low hopes about (my previous Black color "Sim Unlock Card i-SmartPhone" turbosim purchase dont works... :-( )
Anyway if there still another person around here with a locked phone please post here so try to know if I am alone here, so I may thinsk about try to sell mine for somebody that may could use it in Verizon.... (as far I know mine is still rootable, but no network unlock to the info that I have up to date).
Thanks again and best regards!
Your phone is in the black list of verizon or haven't registered with verizon, so the unlocking codes dont work[ i got one locked also.]
The verizon blacklist has nothing to do with the sim unlocking, I have activated a d2g (which is blacklisted) w/o any problem.

[Q] Questions about Sprint Unlocking

So I see there is a thread about unlocking your phone in these forums but that says its a GSM unlock. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to unlocking phones but I know I want to use my sprint M8 on Verizon since I'm switching services.
So my question is, is there any way to unlock my phone to work on the Verizon network? Is that unlocking method make it work on Verizon or just ATT?
Sorry but I am extremely ignorant on the subject and am looking for some info, rather not rebuy my one.

Hi, extremely sorry that no one took the time to respond to this sooner. I believe there is 2 methods to do this, one being a SIM unlock and another being the GSM unlock you mentioned above. To my knowledge GSM unlock is what you want but sadly I don't think there is any 'free' way of doing this. I've never personally GSM unlocked one of my own phones but I have helped a friend do so. Anyways in order to GSM unlock a phone you need a special 'generated' (i think generated) code to input in your phone which will unlock it and allow it to use other carriers besides the one it was made for.
Here is a presumably valid tutorial on how to do this on an HTC One M8.
I would recommend trying freeunlocks.com first, only because I have a coupon from there which i'll gladly give you if you plan on using it. Only reason I have one and or am giving it away is because previously I bought one from there and they didn't have a code at the time so they refunded me and gave me a coupon code to enter if I ever purchased from them again which I most likely won't as I have no need for GSM unlocking, i.e why i'm giving it away. If by some chance freeunlocks does not work then you can try the one in the video or you can look for others.
If you would like to try this and want the coupon for freeunlocks.com then just say so in your response and I'll PM you it. I think its for either a discount or a free code, I don't really remember as this was quite a while ago when I was given it. (around a year)
Goodluck!
I'm just not sure if this would work because I'm trying to go from sprint to verizon, both being CDMA. If I did this would it mean I have to go to ATT?

I don't think so, according to this it should have all the proper bands to support both Sprint & Verizon. On the off hand there is always the chance that this link I just sent is ONLY for the International model and I am wrong which I very well could be. I've had trouble truly understanding if all versions of phones have support for the same bands or if they don't. I'd recommend researching this a bit or waiting until someone else comes along with the proper knowledge to assist you in your question on the radio bands comes along.
Anyways LS;DR, It should work but I may be wrong so do your own research or wait for someone else with the proper knowledge to assist you to come along.

Unlocking S6 Active on ATT

New member here popping my post cherry.
So A friend of mine found a very nice galaxy S6 active on the side of the road. It was in an otter box so it's in pristine condition and he of course wants to use it on another network - Cricket. It's locked to ATT. I'm a bit of a nerd so I've been trying to see what I can do to get this unlocked, without having to pay for it. ATT's website says it is not eligible to be unlocked because all of the installment payments have not been made on it. OK, so someone lost it and deactivated the line and they were still paying for the phone. Got it. Kudos to them for losing such an expensive piece of technology lol oops, glad it wasn't me.
My questions are, for 1: If this device is able to be rooted, are there any methods using root to carrier unlock it? Maybe a different ROM or something? Yes I am experienced with installing that stuff on Android without bricking it haha.
2: Is there a way to obtain an unlock code for free
3: If he does have to end up paying for it, what is a legit and inexpensive site that we could use that will provide a permanent unlock code, reliably?
Any insight an suggestions would be helpful. Thanks everyone!

Return the phone to an AT&T store, there's no root for most AT&T phones. Most if not all the new Samsungs have reactivation lock aswell. Since the S4 days there are no free ways to "unlock" ...There were, but all patched with updates.
Lastly... Cricket is AT&T there should be no need for unlocking.
"ATT's website says it is not eligible to be unlocked because all of the installment payments have not been made on it."
This means that most likely the device is black listed, so unlocking is not even an option...X2
Should be able to find an unlock code on eBay or other service. I always think those service has somebody work in att.
The phone has been blacklisted, i.e. reported lost or stolen.
Unlocking it isn't going to help, the imei will be refused connection by the cell network.
AoN
I have successfully unlocked blacklisted (for using outside US ) ATT S6 Active for US $10.40.
